- Back in 2005, appraiser Noel Barrett met Charlie, the owner of a pristine Heyde Buffalo Bill Wild West set. Having purchased the set for $400 , Charlie was delighted to hear Barrett give it an auction estimate of $15,000 to $20,000. Fourteen years later, ROADSHOW interviews both Barrett and Charlie as they explain why it pays off to hold on to your child-like sense of wonder when it comes to toys.
These people are so charming. I'm loving these videos.
2:29 Whoaaaaa, lady. Whooaaaaa!
big knockers?🤔
"let the devil take the hindmost" is a phrase I have to start using
I like the AR staff physically restraining the participant at 20:20
Ive spent 400 on collectibles nowadays w the intention of investing and making alot less. This piece is beautiful. It has qualities of action figures that havent been much improved upon since ( until about the last 10-15 years ) id say itd go north of 50k. Its truly a grand masterpiece of a set. You wont find that sort of passion in products made nowadays ( and usually when sets are made they become greatly appreciated as collectibles )
Box value alone is 10k, new in box... ask price for sure would be 100k, go find another.... if you want it you want it. you will never see another.
@@gh0st_0f_b0b_chandler But is it really that desireable that you'd pay $100K ? Are we sure there are no others that are new in the box?
A stunning piece worth every cent of that 400 dollars
Dude has great taste
I wonder why this big, luxurious toy set was never played with..
Incredible!
Buffalo Bill was a giant star and worldwide attraction ...
Sick box dude
I'd like to see this set out on a table ready for action or playtime
Hey I live in providence 😂
Sorry bout that bud
It seems to me that the tails on some of the horses are broken off. Are they supposed to be that way?
@Ben Bernasei 👌
@Poo Factory 😂
If you go to 2:05, you can see the tail is underneath the brown paper which is covering it up.
Seller looks better now then in 2005.
I could never understand why anyone would want to spend such an amount (talking about maybe 50k$) of money on that, if not spending the money was the real purpose and the product they'd get is actually just reduced to the bragging rights.
:)
I’d pay 100,000
Did you contact the show and make the offer?
He had a wife? Hum...
