Why Is This Band So Underrated , They're So Good On So Many Levels . Tim Booth Has One Of The Most Amazing Voices Ever ! Anyway , I Still Love Em To Bits I Know A Lot Of Other People Do Also . Great Band , No , Awesome Band !
I'd say they were always in the shadow of bands that were bigger and maybe regarded as cooler - the Smiths in the '80s and then the Stone Roses and Oasis in the '90s.
@@MatthewMaloney-fj4zz Yeah , i agree with everything you say and James are still around today where a lot of those other bands are not , so there you go . Best wishes .
Great to see Gavin on this. An amazing drummer. Sad to think he was out of the band a month or so after this. They were never the same for me after that even though they obviously got massive
@@josiewallace7968Gavan is still in manchester and works as a labourer. still gets royaltys from the music. If you saw him in the street you wouldn't recognise him. Still holds a strong resentment towards the band wich can't be blamed
Was in my class at school and we were quite friendly, didn't even know he could play the drums until he had a party at his house and had a full setup in a bedroom. Nice lad as I remember. Hope he's doing well

Great band the best from Manchester for me and one of the best ever. The Starlings wow I had forgot about those days when they would gather and fly.

I wonder what Gavan Whelan and Paul Gilbertson are up to now

They should have stuck with Factory for at least two albums.

I saw them supporting The Smiths in Galway in October 1984-- they already the right stuff.-- Kevin Whelan (no rleation to Gavin)
You must have seen them on 17 November 1984 in Galway.
