If we see the larger picture, Rose is one of the most influential voices in British Pop music, mainstream or underground. It's unfair to judge her work solely from the mainstream point of view. And even so, SS commerciality was a blessed vehicle for a momentarily flash of good taste in UK's pop scene in the 80s, with a little help from Drummond&Balfe. What i'm hinting at is Rose's all-around collaborations with, let's say it like this, ''England's Hidden reverse'' ( Death in June, Coil, Current 93, but also with Boyd Rice and many others in the postpunk dark/neo Folk and Ambient scene); she shared her vocal talent and charm in remarkable ways, and records like ''Brown Book'', ''Earth Covers Earth'' or ''Moon's Milk'' wouldn't be complete without her. Apart from this, there was Spell (with Rice), but mainly her fundamental band, Sorrow. It's there, i guess, we may find the real Rose.

I remember I heard this on this obscure Seattle radio station 89FM. Steve Rabow played it 3 times that I know of and I was hooked the first time. I used to call when my parents left me to babysit my sister. And I asked him one time to play it again because I wanted to record it off the radio. He said they weren’t pushing that song anymore but he might do it sometime again. He pointed out there was a lot of new music coming out all the time and I should just listen to hear that music. So I go through my life and the song falls to the wayside in my memory until I was making an 80’s playlist and there was the song on a list of songs from 1983. And now I have it in multiple playlists.
