I want to clear up a few things because even though I do address them in the video, I know not everyone watches the entire twenty minutes! :) First, I am almost 45 years old and have worked in the cosmetics industry for over 22 years. "Mature Skin" typically refers to anyone over age 35. A dermatologist friend told me that our skin starts to age beginning in our mid 20's, and that a person's biological age is not always in sync with those changes. Lifestyle, environment and genetics all play a role in how early our skin shows those signs of aging. This video is for ANYONE, regardless of age, who is dealing with the signs of skin aging. Secondly, while I personally have been trying to purchase only cruelty free products for the last 6 months, I am not a 100% cruelty free channel. When I make these "BEST OF" videos, I try to include all brands regardless of their CF or non-CF status I am aware that L'oreal, Armani and Maybelline are not cruelty free. I wish they were, but I chose to include them because in my opinion they offer some good products and it is my "job" as a beauty content creator to give people options, and let them choose for themselves what to purchase or not purchase based on their own values. Thank you again for watching! xoxo Risa
Honestly I am ok with L’Oréal. They are actively working with Chinese scientists to try to get them to use artificial skin to test instead of animals. They are working to improve the industry so I do make an exception with them and maybelline .
jane thornton They are still torturing animals. A Co can make the decision to stop today! BTW, do you know how much torture goes on in China? Google Yulin Dog Meat Festival.
I am very appreciative of you addressing mature skin which is oily. I am 67 and have had oily/combination all my life, and have struggled with large pores and blackheads consistently. I have always found that lighter coverage and cc creams look best on me, with the help of a good primer. 👍💋💄
Glad I found your channel. It’s been quite helpful. I am 42 and don’t feel comfortable with the younger UA-cam tutorials. If I put on concealer the way they demonstrate, I would notice lines in places I never knew I had 😱 and I can’t draw on eyebrows like a cartoon. I doubt my job would appreciate that. I think most of the girls look beautiful but their looks are simply not for me. I want to look like myself but in a tasteful way. And it doesn’t bother me when people say they like my makeup. It’s obvious I’m wearing something since you can see my eyeshadow and mascara. I just don’t want to look like a caricature of myself. Thanks for your useful tips.
Absolutely agree. In addition to that, most of the younger UA-camrs (and some of the actually-not-so-young-any-more-but-acting-as-if-they-were... I will name no names) are sponsored in a way or the other, whether they admit it or not, so their opinions are not completely honest. More mature UA-camrs (there are so few, alas!) are really focused on the quality and actual performance of the products and, not being paid for what they say, they are truthful in their opinions and much more careful in testing and reviewing the products.
Thank you for all the suggestions! I looked some of them up before scrolling down to see you'd listed all the products, much easier than backing up the video countless times to hear the names of the products! Thanks for clarifying what "aging skin" means in the cosmetics industry; this helps me to understand why some of the women in other videos on the same topic look so young (30's to 40's). I'm in my late 50's and my concept of "aging" keeps going up as I see my beautiful 93 year old mother age (and as I age). BTW my mom still wears full makeup, jewelry, lovely, colorful clothes when she goes out and she doesn't worry about all the wrinkles around her eyes on on her neck.
I had oily, blemished skin until I was 60. Lancome Dual Finish powder was the ONLY foundation that I could use. Now I use a hydrating primer along with Lancome Dual Finish. I pray that they never discontinue it!
You are hands down one of my favorite UA-camrs! Your just so real and you can tell your being yourself, take it or leave it. I enjoy all of your videos. I'm mature skin that's normal to dry, and I am loving the TF Just Peachy foundation. You are spot on, it's all about the prep! 💜❤️💙
Great video Risa. I am 64 with extremely oily skin. Most mature videos lean towards drier skin. So nice to see other comments from women my age and oily. I was beginning to think I was the only one. I watch all your videos and love all your tips, tricks and advice. Thanks
Hi Risa love your channel. I am 71yrs old and very lucky l have really good skin on my face. I use Rimmel BB cream and love it. Also if l wear foundation it is L'oreal foundation true match super blendable l love it. Thanks for those other foundations might give them a go. xx
You have THE most flawless makeup look on your skin I've ever seen, and I've watched hundreds of tutorials. My GOD your skin looks AMAZING. I'm subbing right away, thank god you popped up in my recommended 😊😊😊. I just picked up the Wet N Wild photo Focus a couple days ago, and a couple weird things; the shade looked PERFECT in the bottle, but it was at least two shades too dark once I put it on. Also I found the finish to be very matte, but I tend to have drier skin. I did my full moisturizer and primer routine prior to application, and still, it looked a bit cakey on me.
Thanks for the suggestions.I went foundation shopping a few weeks ago at Sephora and the girl helping me thought the Kat Von D would be perfect for me but there was no shade that matched my skin tone so she asked another girl to help. She brought over three color samples of the Sephora 10 hour wear and I actually liked it. I wanted a more full coverage but it's buildable. I know a lot of people don't like it but it works well for me. I had to giggle when you said mature skin is anyone over 35 or 40. I'm almost 55 and would love to have the skin I had when I was in my 40's! When my granddaughter was 4 (she's 6 now) she looked at me one day and innocently said Gramma you have a crumbly face! That is when you know you indeed have mature skin!
I've used Hourglass Illusion Tint on my 58 year old dry skin yet far from a tint as it has very decent medium coverage and do love it and the moisture and illumination, but the longevity is not great for more than 5 hours on myself so I keep it for special events. I've found that the LA Girl HD foundation daily (although most colors are yellow in tone like myself yet they do have a white foundation you can mix with their colors in their line to lighten) is FANTASTIC for for mature dry skin does not settle in to fine lines and a little goes a long way for a decent medium coverage (could be built up more, but not on mature skin) I have to say do NOT powder. I'm going to look in to your suggestion of Jouer as I use their moisture primer and may look in to the Wet n Wild as I'm a nurse and my days are long and extremely busy physically and mentally so I need a bit of staying power. I work doing skin cancer surgery and 2 days a week in cosmetic dermatology and appreciate your video and what you've offered up as options for mature skin in the foundation market.
I am wearing the Jouer foundation today, also! In Fawn, but it might be a little light. I have mature very DRY skin. I have worn it for 14 hours today and I can't believe it has not settled into any fine lines or wrinkles (no Botox). No breaking down, no bunching up around the nostrils, feels weightless, doesn't make my face feel tight or dry, it doesn't look dry... I am over the moon! I did use the brush and only about 1/2 a pump and put it on the back of my hand like usual to warm it up. Then dotted it around my face. Mistake. It started drying before I could get it buffed in, especially on my dry patches. I thought, Oh, no....this is going to be like the Huda foundation and suck the life from my skin. I added just a drop more directly to the brush and started buffing over the dry areas and they looked great - not dry. I continued buffing the foundation into my skin. I thought maybe I had buffed it all off because it looked like my skin but so much better. So I touched my face and it hadn't dried to the touch, yet. So I knew the foundation was still on my face. 😂 I did the rest of my makeup the way I usually do and have worn it like that all day. No shininess or oil break through - I did say I was dry, but my T-zone can get oily after long periods of time especially the nose area. I still used all my morning skin care & sunscreen and primer, but no piling or any other problems. I am very happy with it. I wanted so much to like the Huda foundation but whether it was the mature skin or how dry mine is...not sure, but it was settling in lines I didn't know I had before I finished even 1/2 my makeup. 🙁 I can't wait to try the Peaches & Cream foundation but made the mistake of buying it on Too Faced's website on the 12th and still don't have it!!! 😁
I'm 52 with normal skin with an oily t-zone and I've found my holy grail in Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten. It evens out my skin tone, lasts forever and a day and once I apply then set with a spray, it simply melds in with my skin. Never looks cakey and lasts all day on my skin.
I have 40 year old normal sometimes dry skin and I was SO IMPRESSED with the Maybelline Fit Me foundation. It covers beautifully and wears well through the work day without enhancing fine lines the way other products do. And that price? Oh yeah I’m gonna recommend it to people.
Dear Rita, that Trish McEvoy thingy (forgot the full name) is AMAZING. Holy grail product! Bought it on your recomendation. Thank you, so much! The only BB cream product that works for me and I’m super oily! Suuuuper oily!
Hi I know this is an older video, but I’m rediscovering drugstore foundations that are similar to higher end ones. If I mix this with a little bit of oil it reminds me of Kosas tinted oil - obviously doesn’t have clean ingredients, but it has a similar effect. One day I was swatching this next to a sample of Tarte Rainforest of the Sea and noticed Buff Bisque looked almost identical to Tarte’s Light Neutral - I did my face with half on one side, half on the other, and my husband could not tell a difference in natural light. Pretty cool!!
I am a 64 year old man, and my skin has sun discolorations! I have a t-zone you cry fry chicken for 10 on, and the rest of my face is normal! Glad you are doing this, not all mature skin is dry, some still have oily skins!
I'm so glad that you feature cruelty-free brands. I'm happy to try any makeup that is not tested on animals. Your demo was very informative. Thanks for giving all the necessary info for each brand.
LOL.....Mature skin is a mouthful. My mature skin from my 30's, and 40's was still oily! However MENOPAUSE dose a real number on us like nothing else. It really changes everything.! Mature skin just before menopause for me started to wrinkle, sag, and dry out! and by the time I was through it I was left with very dry skin! Such a change from what I knew how to deal with. Talk about a learning curve.....OMG! I was literally a greasy, oily mess in my youth! If someone would have told me a day would come, when I would put oils on my skin daily I would have laughed in their face.....LOL I now use so much moisturizer , oils, etc it's not even funny! In my 40's my go too foundation was Mac Studio fix in the dry compact, and without anything under it to keep me matt. Now at 59 my foundations are all serum, and luminous ones. So You might say there are 2 kinds of mature skin......LOL...... regular mature skin, and super mature skin....LOL Thank you for your recommendations I will try a few of the ones you talked about! As alway you look beautiful Risa :)
Sandy Alderson I'm 44yo and post radical hysterectomy and oh my dry skin has began! Otherwise your story is mine too! I'm still looking for that perfect Holy Grail foundation to meet all my needs! Lol
Try a serum foundation No7 at Target is great for a drugstore one, and on the higher end I love Kevyn Aucion sensual skin fluid its my favorite with a good primmer and a little It cosmetics by by pores powder also like the It CC cream.
Thank you Sandy! Wow, isn't it crazy what we women have to go though? I am hoping to take after my mom who said her menopause was relatively easy. The one thing I am looking forward to is not getting my period. It's still like clockwork which I guess is good, but man, I would like to not have to deal with THAT anymore!
I love your channel and your beautiful “mature” skin. I really enjoy your reviews and you have helped me tremendously! I am on the cusp on being in the “mature” skin category. I am 34 and my skin is beginning to have slight crows feet and deeper smile lines around my mouth. I unfortunately didn’t take care of my skin in my younger years although i have been taking excellent care of my skin in the last few years. That is in large part due to your recommendations Every foundation that you have recommended and i have tried i have loved! I used to watch all these younger you tubers and never understood why their recommendations never worked for me. After i found your channel i understood why, I wasn’t using the proper products for my skin!! Long story short, ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ your channel!!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
I absolutely love that you are sharing these foundation's! Not only are you talking about your oily skin alone..but you mention what's good for dry skin too. I so need a new foundation, so this video is just what I needed to hear! I'm a new subscriber, so happy I found your channel. xx
I have tried everything! I am 59, pretty clear skin. I like oil-free and zero scent. I have sensitive/combo skin. Things that have worked in the past - don't - as they don't provide enough coverage like the Luara Mercier tint. Their formula in the fuller coverage foundation seems to have changed. My skin didn't like it nor Becca (too much slip), nor Bobbi Brown nor IT (no, it is not oil free, which they should be transparent about), nor Cover/FX. I tried the Makeup forever 80% water foundation, but it has an icky scent but stays on all day, though it doesn't feel like skin. The best one so far: Jouer luminizing moisture tint sunscreen. Oil-free (but doesn't feel like it) stays on all day, looks like skin, has good coverage but not too much. A makeup artist recommended it to me and I can't find anything better. The downside: the color range is so limited. Some days it looks good, other days, not so much. I tried mixing but that didn't work, so I am still on the hunt, despite what I say. Suggestions?
Hi Risa! I just discovered you! I can testify Wet n Wild is my go to. I am 47 years old with normal/dry skin. This is my go to everyday!! It does not add texture to my skin and great in all light, which I think is so important. Thanks for your review, I will be watching you!!
Hi Risa! I love your videos . First of all, please forgive me if my English isn't very good. I'm an Spanish follower and my 52 mature skin is normal, no dehydrated and have no spots or sun damage. My only issue are fine, sometimes no so fine, wrinkles. I don't like Matt fundations because I think they ages me, so I prefer fundations with light to medium coverage and more in the side of glowy finish. I love your videos!
Just found you Risa, as I'm looking for foundation or BB Cream, after wearing NOTHING but moisturizer for over 20 years. I'm "real" mature, skin wise, no blemishes or spots but DRY DRY skin. Also, most women I know do not want full or even medium coverage as they age. I prefer light and if I can't get light at least a dewey finish. Thank you for all the work you went to, to make this presentation. I will need to watch it a couple more times before I can decide on what to try out☺
I'm 47 and I've struggled with oily, acne-prone skin since I was 12. I watch a few Beauty UA-camrs (pause for laughter, because by 'a few' I mean a LOT). I can remember the first time someone suggested adding facial oil to my routine. I was like, "Yeaaaaah, that's just going to break me out." I got some oils in beauty boxes, so I started trying them when I do my weekly facial on the weekend and my skin responded to it like I never would have imagined, it kind of made my skin 'act' dry. So then I started using them at night, then I added them in the morning. Now I put 2-3 different oils on twice daily. My face stopped making so much oil, because I'm giving it clean oils externally. I can still see that my oils will build up a bit throughout the day, but it's greatly reduced, and my breakouts have lessened considerably. It's almost like I fixed my oily skin with oil! Whooda thunk?
RISA! I don't know what you did different or used differently today on this video but your face and skin looks so light and bright! Whatever different it is really has a fresh, youthful look (not that you don't always look beautiful, but the stuff you are using today is a really natural look but an enhanced really nice look, kind of a no makeup and natural color but better. Your eyes look beautiful!!! I have the same type of eyes that you do and have such a hard time now that I have gotten older it seems like I have NO lids for any color!! Could you do a tutorial on this look? It would be perfect when I want to look naturally gorgeous with casual day look. I could walk around feeling, "YEAH, I wake up looking this good"!! hahahaha!! I would love to watch a tutorial so I can practice getting it right! AND I LOVE your lip color!!! You are right, the Trish McEvoy is great and I love it but I think last time I bought it it was $85!! So much for that, but their cheek color get and some other things are great well but also pricey unfortunately :(
Hi Risa! I started watching the video and then told to myself: “she is so beautiful today! More than ever!”. This new foundation is perfect for your skin!!! 😍👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Im so glad i found you. I just turned 50 and i do have very oily skin and fine lines and its difficult to find foundations for my skin type that dont accentuate lines.
I would love to see a full review of the sweet peach matte foundation, and a full review on the jouer. I have mature skin on the dry to normal range. You look amazing by the way!
I'm 52 and I get dry on my nose and around my mouth in the winter, but most of the time I still am oily in the t-zone. Guess it's good for wrinkles. I love IT foundations, CC, Bye Bye. I like them all.
.... I enjoyed your reviews , and being over 55, is more of what I ( personally) consider to be " mature skin " ....; Even at 55,my skin still looked pretty good. I'm now mid sixties, and I was watching your video, as you said " mature skin / drier", ... And although " oily skin " was mentioned ( many times, lol), I still appreciate your reviews.... Having previously lived in Vegas, I ALWAYS used sunscreen ( a physical sunscreen, not a chemical one) and it seems my skin doesn't " like " many foundations.... I used Victoria Jackson cream foundation FOR YEARS, my skin loves that foundation!! Nothing I've used since has given the same results. My skin loves cream foundation and it's difficult to find, in a good form. Thank you for your suggestions, I may try a few of the ones mentioned.
I too absolutely LOVE the Too Faced soft peach ! It just looks so soft, pretty and touchable! I can't wear the pinker tones either, they turn an ashy beige gray on me. BUT I would LOVE to try the Jouer since you like it so much and say it is so nice! My ONLY problem is that if it is like Estee Lauder Double Wear (I loved the coverage and look) BUT IT OXIDIZED SO BADLY ON ME, EVEN when I used a shade or two lighter! It looked like I used cheap liquid Bronzer, smeared it all over and left it looking like a clown. It got SO dark Orange brown in just an hour! THEN it continued to darken the longer I wore it! I looked like a different ethnic group. I am very fair and I couldn't BELIEVE how orange, muddy looking dark it was! I would love to try the Jouer but was wondering, DOES IT TURN ORANGE TOO??? I HOPE not! I really liked the coverage of the EL DBL wear , just not the bad magic color changing act! LOL!
Thanks for this video. I always appreciate your extra tips along with your suggestions. It’s staggering how many foundations are in my collection as I keep trying to find the best solution for the moving target that seems to be my skin lately. Used to be super oily now it’s oily and dry at the same time. Also, I love your makeup in this post. You look lovely and sophisticated. Tutorial maybe?
I ordered the Jouer foundation a few days ago after seeing all the great reviews. Was difficult to choose a color online but hope I got a match. Would love to see you do a full review. Also love the Loreal Pro Glow and surprised by how often I reach for it. Other favorites of mine are Shiseido Synchro Skin (don’t think cruelty free) and Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue (if I just want light coverage). The Too Faced Peaches is a nice foundation but didn’t care for it on my dry/combo skin, even with heavy moisture. I tend to steer away from the more matte foundations tho - these days I seem to be leaning toward more dewy looking ones. :)
Great video! I'm 51 and always looking for good foundations. I only have alot of lines around my mouth because I was a smoker. I've tried everything and nothing covers them. I honestly think my only option is fillers around the mouth. Not at all what I want to do, but I feel like these lines age me at least 10 years. Everything else looks great......I have a strict skincare routine. I think skincare is the starting point for any makeup. Risa, can you think of anything else I can do before I go the injection route? Obviously I avoid powders , plenty of eye cream around the mouth. Just another reason for people to not smoke! Aaaaarrrggggg
Thanks for your video. I just ordered sample packets of the Jour Foundation. My sister worked the Estée Lauder counter and I loved their foundation that she helped find for me. I was excited that you found a replacement for the Lauder foundation and I cannot wait to get the samples to see what color foundation I am.
I am *extremely* dry, but *dry*, so I always put on my moisturizer (Nivea blue tin), and then on top of that mix my foundation with a bit of moisturizer and apply that - it works for me. You don't get full coverage that way, but for my skin... no, just no, not a good idea. And even lately I have stopped wearing make-up altogether. I have a face full of freckles so I don't much like covering all that up. Hence of course also the "lighter coverage", and also there is a need to mix with moisturizer because of the dryness. I use the Colorstay by Revlon, or Aldi's own foundation (they do one here in Belgium).
Melanie from Mr Kongs Mom has seriously oily skin but she uses Laura Geller Balance and Brighten powder foundation......she says it stops her oil coming through! She doesn't use liquid foundation, she says the oil makes liquid foundation run and move all over her face. I think I'm lucky, my skin was dry but since taking notice of you tubers skin care advice it's pretty much normal 😍😃 xx
Constructive Criticism is the phrase😍 I've been getting results from using SPF50 No 7 Protect and Perfect as a base and Lancome 24hr Foundation or Clinique Even Better on top. I have oily t zone and bit of texrure and was wary, but that Spf50 seems to act as a good filler of fine lines. I am a Double Wear fan but I have to make sure I am wearing Mac Moisture Infusion as a primer - even though I get oily.
Thanks for this informative video, Risa. I'm a new subscriber & discovering all your wonderful content here. Unfortunately, the Maybelline Matte and Poreless didn't work well for me. I get fairly oily in my t-zone, and it broke down after just a few hours despite using a mattifying primer. It also accentuated pores & lacked coverage on me. The best drugstore foundation I've found that works well for my skin is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Breathable Foundation. It makes my skin look flawless with a medium coverage (using a beauty sponge application) which I think could be built up to almost full. I still have to set it with powder & do usual touch-ups, but it really lasts decently throughout the day on me. I still can't say that I've been successful in finding a drugstore foundation that doesn't eventually settle into the deep lines in my forehead, so that search continues! 😉
Your skin looks AMAZING, and I LOVE your lip color!! Gorgeous!! I am 48, and found your channel through Emily. I have learned a lot of tricks already!! Thank you so much!!
Hi have you tried Estée Lauder perfectionist youth infusing foundation , I am 68 but very lucky used Estée Lauder since a teenager so only have fine lines but I used to weat Estée Lauder double wear mixed with a drop of night repair serum , both are good but perfectionist lasts me 14 hrs without a touch up ! It’s worth a try for me it is what it says perfection. Regards Liz from uk however I do wear Estée Lauder illuminating primer or as I have bought four bottles of morning aura Victoria Beckham colab with Estée Lauder on the days I don’t wish to wear foundation I wear it alone ! It has crushed pearls in its stunning !
Yes PLEASE do a review on the Jouer. I haven’t seen enough on that. And the biggest problem is swatches especially compared to other brands. I have no idea what to order and if I should wait for more shades. Fenty has a perfect match for me but it won’t stay on. Huda I have no match in but the smell is so bad. The formula is meh. I basically wear ProLongwear CONCEALER as foundation with blue and yellow mixer in to get a warm olive green enough tone.
I am 40 and have dry skin. I have the Pro Glow and Photo Focus. They both might give a nice finish and coverage, but they break me out LITERALLY every single time I have tried to wear them.
Thank you for this informative video. I am 57 and love the L'oreal Pro Glow product. I think we are all on the hunt to find the magic product that works for all of us. Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season.
Mandy Willoughby Hmmm, I’ll have to try that one again, maybe during the summer. Right now I’m using Tarte Foundcealer. It’s hydrating and not shiny, doesn’t oxidize.
This Jouer foundation looks beautiful and flawless on you! It has gotten nothing but great reviews but would love hear your full review on this one. Thanks!
As an ancient lol I really appreciate this. I think Jouer is such an under reviewed brand here yet when someone does use it I never (ok, once) hear a bad review. Your skin looks flawless! Tho I am drier I may save my coins & try it. Thank you!!
I adore the Jouer foundation it is truly amazing it gives great coverage but feels like you aren’t even wearing makeup. I used to love the Estée Lauder Double Wear but this is soooooo much better!
RISA! THANK YOU!!! I finally had a chance to watch this review and I'm so very thankful for your time and energy to put this together! I immediately ordered the Jouer after watching this and maybe will try the BB Cream from Trish M. xoxo
Risa, I LOVE your tutorials. Can you recommend a drugstore foundation for combination oily skin. I like a full coverage formula, but will consider others you may recommend. Thanks so much, and bless you!
Love your look today with earrings, make up and top! You look fab! Thanks Risa for another great video. I am 42 and I love your recommendations for mature skin. I have oily skin with wrinkles.
Risa, I love the peach foundation of TF, it’s great on my skin. Why don’t you do a video on powders to wear over foundation to set it and keep it matte and concealers for mature skins with dry under eye area?😘
. I buy only cruelty free and as much I would like to I couldn’t pick anything from the list of products you presented. I believe a lot has changed in beauty industry in a last 6 months and a lot more brands are cruelty free now. Would be great if you made like a updated version of this video :)
I really like your tutorials & you can tell you're using your mind & not a script, which comes off as pretty real & intelligent. You look more the age of 35, btw. Great tutorial! 🐞
The Jouer foundation made my skin feel so dry and I moisturized before. It emphasized fine lines and I was so disappointed. I’m going to try it again to see if maybe it won’t do that again but the three times I wore it I hated it. It surprised me. It made my skin look even older.
Jouer makes my skin look like the Sahara desert 🌵 😂😂😂 No matter how much I moisturize beforehand, it is THE most drying foundation that’s ever touched my skin!! Girl, serums, oils, moisturizers, even emollients can’t help make this stuff not have me looking severely dehydrated!! So how I use it now is I squeeze the tiniest bit into other more moisturizing foundations and it just makes what ever I mix it with a bit more full coverage. Plus the color I got was a tad light for me (ordered it online) so it really works well for me as a mixer with some of the foundations I can’t really use during the winter, ones had bought a shade darker for when I put a tan on my skin. So I still use it, but not ever on its own.
I just bought almond and another color sample on eBay. I love the look of the last foundation review you did. Your skin looks so bright and pretty. I'm looking for a foundation for oily skin full coverage but didn't look cakey. I want to brighten my skin. I'm 48 and the older i get my skin is very oily. Especially in my T zone. Thank you for this review. :)
New to this channel. I’m 46 with dry skin. I don’t want to tweak my application to make these foundations work for my dry skin. I want more foundation reviews for mature dry skin that work great straight from the bottle. Suggestions in all price ranges?
Hi Lonnie! Stay tuned...this Friday I have a collaboration with a dry skinned over 40 UA-camr and she will be giving her recs specifically for dry skin! 😃👍🏻
Risa thank you, I have tried lots of foundations and nothing works for me but Double wear. I'm 51 with oily skin so I'm excited to find and try Jouer Essential High Coverage Cream make up. Hello from Canada.
When I first started using more high end makeup I used bare minerals because I feel I didn’t know better. When skin was smooth clear it looked nice. But it clings into any crease or crack or wrinkle. It cakes up on dry patches or around pimples or scabs. It’s horrible. I always felt self conscious. When I found MUFE HD liquid I fell in love and life changed lol. I’m 32 but I’m very sick and disabled and bedridden except for doctors or to get moved to couch for holidays. So I need a foundation that’s easy to slap on face. But even tho still younger the stress of being sick in body has aged me. I have wrinkles deep under eyes. Dark circles. Have dehydrated cheeks dry. I have textured skin. So now I have no idea what to use. So maybe some of these would help. Again it would only be worn on a holiday when seeing people on couch lol so twice a year or three times. So I don’t wanna spend $50 a bottle so it gets old and separated in bottle. Is there anything else you recommend for this and a good cheaper primer? I’m combination and would like full coverage for above skin issues. Thanks. My moms 73 and I’m gonna show her this video.
I have Very, Very oily skin and have never found a liquid foundation or CC or BB that will stay on my skin. I also find them very aging. The only thing that seems to work at all is powder foundation....
Great video. I just wanted to add that the Jouer is a completely different feeling liquid, it feels very thin and watery. But that doesn't mean you lose coverage. I was so shocked by the texture I almost returned it, I did buy the brush (great combo) but used the beauty blender at first cause I felt I had more control. Now I only use the brush and I love it. It has quickly become the go-to foundation in extremely hot environments like Florida where humidity alone will melt off your makeup. Jouer holds up, stays dry and looks great!! It is unique, so if you're tired of foundation all feeling, looking and holding up the same try this one it's worth it. Oh and half a pump is more than enough for the whole face, you don't need concealer (beautiful under the eyes) or setting powder (normal to dry not sure about oily). I think the colors run just a tad light, I have Pebble, it's workable but not on its own in the summer. Speaking of which, Risa what tinter to darken foundation (cool toned person) would you recommend? Clinique's looks very orange...
I’ve given up on drugstore foundations, when I say I’ve tried them all, I’ve tried them all! They just look really bad on my mature skin. I need high end hands down.
Like you I have oily skin and I couldn’t agree more on powder foundations. Especially mineral powder foundations! They look horrible on me! Accentuate pores like hell! I haven’t tried any of your recommendations. I personally really like the IT Cosmetics cc cream (even though I get shiny lol) and the Barepro that really stays matte on me.
I have a great deal of respect for you after hearing you "recommend" a L'Oreal foundation even though it is not cruelty free. It's a personal choice, and you handled it perfectly. I was shocked when you said, "Here in Vegas.....". I actually had to back up the video and listen again. I'm in Vegas too!
Sarah Collins Which is why I said "It's a personal choice". Choice, meaning each individual has the right to decide for them self. And personal, meaning it's none of your damn business!
WOW...... Risa, Your skin just looks more flawless in each new video you post! You look amazing! absolutely beautiful :) Please share what new things you're doing? Sounds like I need to try the Jouer Essential High Coverage Creme Makeup. What do you recommend to prime with when using it on the super old dry skin.......LOL?
Just a heads up Giorgio Armani is owned by L'oreal. L'oreal does not test it's products on animals but when you sell products in China they are sometimes tested on animals by authorities. To change the regulations you have to be a player. This is why they do not claim cruelty free:)
I really enjoyed your video! I'm 58 so I kind of lump in there as the mature skin kind of gal, and I have dry skin so a lot of these would work well for me, and I like the added bonus of knowing some of the things are cruelty free or not.
Thank you again for watching! xoxo Risa
Thanks for the great video and thank you for promoting cruelty free as much as you can.
Your almost 45 years old ... WHAT ARE YOU DOING ??? YOU ARE STUNNING !!!
Honestly I am ok with L’Oréal. They are actively working with Chinese scientists to try to get them to use artificial skin to test instead of animals. They are working to improve the industry so I do make an exception with them and maybelline .
Makeup allergies
jane thornton They are still torturing animals.
Came across your vid while searching for foundation for my 50+ mature skin and am so so very happy that you opt for cruelty free makeup. ❤️ Thank you
I had oily, blemished skin until I was 60.
Grandma u have a crumbly face😂
Kids are too funny!!! 😭
Yes would love to see your usual full review on the Jouer foundation - need to see the finish & how well it holds up over the day.
If someone would have told me a day would come, when I would put oils on my skin daily I would have laughed in their face.....LOL
I now use so much moisturizer , oils, etc it's not even funny!
In my 40's my go too foundation was Mac Studio fix in the dry compact, and without anything under it to keep me matt.
Now at 59 my foundations are all serum, and luminous ones.
So You might say there are 2 kinds of mature skin......LOL...... regular mature skin, and super mature skin....LOL
Thank you for your recommendations I will try a few of the ones you talked about!
LOL......I hear you, Risa!!! I hope for your sake when you hit menopause the cold & off shoulder is still in fashion for your hot flashes!
[[___ Sandy Alderson
I am sooooo happy to hear you say you won’t use a product that’s not cruelty free!!! Another reason to follow you! 🐰🐶 ♥️👏🏼🤗
I'm in my mid 40's and am an oily girl 😖 I have found nothing replaces my Estee Lauder double wear and was thrilled when you mentioned Jouer!
+Jackie Hatfield You need to try it for sure! 😃
Kristi Mccoy ii
I just found your channel and I'm looking forward to watch every one of your reviews. Love from Rome, Italy.
Please do a tutorial for dark circles, small eyes and if that isn't bad enough my eyes are wide apart! Love your makeup!
+Margherita Ascolano You are too kind! Thank you so much! 😘
Risa Does Makeup I always trust your opinion and it’s always a pleasure to listen to you! Thank you for keeping me company! 🤗
Risa Does Makeup margarita ascalona
Im so glad i found you. I just turned 50 and i do have very oily skin and fine lines and its difficult to find foundations for my skin type that dont accentuate lines.
Sort of oily and mature, here! Tried the Fit me Matte. I needed two layers, but it holds up pretty well.
I would love to see a full review of the sweet peach matte foundation, and a full review on the jouer. I have mature skin on the dry to normal range. You look amazing by the way!
SOOOO glad you are promoting cruelty-free products! Thank you!
Thank you for going cruelly free. Please don't give up on your quest for 100%
Constructive Criticism is the phrase😍 I've been getting results from using SPF50 No 7 Protect and Perfect as a base and Lancome 24hr Foundation or Clinique Even Better on top.
+Sharla Rae Oh no! That’s terrible! 😩
Thank you for this informative video. I am 57 and love the L'oreal Pro Glow product. I think we are all on the hunt to find the magic product that works for all of us. Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation is really nice on skin with fine lines
Mandy Willoughby Hmmm, I’ll have to try that one again, maybe during the summer. Right now I’m using Tarte Foundcealer. It’s hydrating and not shiny, doesn’t oxidize.
The last pick that is your favorite, if it’s high long lasting is it too heavy for creases. Almost 53 and I still get shiny.
Clinique stepped up their game and made an amazing foundation!
Thank you!!
I love that you have gone cruelty free!👍🏻🙂👏🏻
LOVE THE NEW BACKGROUND!!!!
GREAT video! For those of us who get lost in foundation land and then end up disappointed , you REALLY helped!!! Thank you!
The wet and wild cushion foundation is my favorite
I agree that as a 48 year old woman I do have mature skn but still it is oly to combo and I think it helps with less fine lines and wrinkles
Risa, I love the peach foundation of TF, it’s great on my skin. Why don’t you do a video on powders to wear over foundation to set it and keep it matte and concealers for mature skins with dry under eye area?😘
Trish Lóreal Armani goals! Thank you beauty!
I'm in my early 40s, I use the Wet'n Wild Photo Focus or the Loreal Infallible....doesnt break the bank but does look good!
*How one cane hide pores completely* ? By which makeup products??????????????????
. I buy only cruelty free and as much I would like to I couldn’t pick anything from the list of products you presented. I believe a lot has changed in beauty industry in a last 6 months and a lot more brands are cruelty free now. Would be great if you made like a updated version of this video :)
I really liked the Wet & Wild foundation also, pleasantly surprised. I have dry skin, but didn't find it long lasting.
That’s a great suggestion for others with dry skin whom it’s not working well for. Thank you for sharing!! 👍🏻
What's your take on setting sprays. No judgments here, live and let live cruelty free or not let's continue to show tolerance.
Risa, I appreciate ALL your videos! 💗 Thanks for always trying to help us be more beautiful!
I LOVE the Jouer foundation. I have dry skin and I use it on scars and then use another more dewy foundation after. It works really well for me.
Your nail color is gorgeous and your top! It is mauve AND velvet?! I die.
really enjoyed the video, very informative. my issue is choosing the right shade.
Yes would love a full review of the Jouer foundation!
Can you do a tutorial on this look? It's gorgeous!! Also love that shirt!! So pretty!
Yes pls to a Jouer GRWM & can you tell us what shade you are in Double Wear x
I guess some people don't care if animals are tortured for makeup
Sarah Collins Which is why I said "It's a personal choice". Choice, meaning each individual has the right to decide for them self. And personal, meaning it's none of your damn business!
WOW...... Risa, Your skin just looks more flawless in each new video you post! You look amazing! absolutely beautiful :) Please share what new things you're doing? Sounds like I need to try the Jouer Essential High Coverage Creme Makeup. What do you recommend to prime with when using it on the super old dry skin.......LOL?
Hi there- I know this is an old video, but I’m so in love with those earrings! Do you know the brand so I can try to search for them??
Just a heads up Giorgio Armani is owned by L'oreal. L'oreal does not test it's products on animals but when you sell products in China they are sometimes tested on animals by authorities. To change the regulations you have to be a player. This is why they do not claim cruelty free:)
I like the Wet n Wild foundation. Their pressed powder is pretty nice too for touch ups.

I really enjoyed your video! I'm 58 so I kind of lump in there as the mature skin kind of gal, and I have dry skin so a lot of these would work well for me, and I like the added bonus of knowing some of the things are cruelty free or not.
