- Local angler Michael, adding another pristine springer to his tally for 2024. Michael's decision about which pattern of fly he should choose from his fly box, could not be simpler, as there is only one! The only decision that he does have to make, is what size of fly best suits the prevalent conditions. The fly he chose here, was a number 6.
The river height on our gauge stood at 0" which equates to 8" on the Sepa gauge at Ness Side. The water temperature was 12 degrees and the air temperature was 14 degrees.
Michael was using a 15' Shakespeare Oracle, throwing a floating spey line with a five foot fast tip and 23lb seaguar tippet.
