You can definitely see a lot of people are going like the Pearl Flexi, one of them won’t be Matt at Rex Supply Co.
You and TOB’s is a match made in heaven.
Both Rex razors shave terribly. The Pearl is modeled after the Gibbs which actually shaves fantastic.

I have Version 5. The problems have all been resolved. The blade is perfect at every setting and the top piece fits flush to the bottom piece. Awesome razor for the price.
I’m actually intrigued by this. I seen everyone raving about the Rex but it is just too expensive for me so I might try get my hands on one of these instead :)
The mic is working great. I agree with the other viewer, don’t fart. I never thought I would see anyone shave with a Willy. I try to keep my Willy where it belongs, and FYI, my Willy has reached the Plissoft stage at this time in my life. Really loved the video today, you crack me up.

I have one don’t waste your money myself and a few friends have it and it has a major defect same problem in all of them the blade guard tray after setting one slants. We think it’s the inner spring.
I have the Rex Ambassador and I have to say it’s by far the best built and best shaving razor I own, vintage and modern SS included. For me, it was well worth the money.

Nice shave Kevy, When using my Flexi I found the side with the 4 had much less blade feel than the side eith a 1 on it. On the shave gear willy theme mine would definitely be a Wee Scott 😬.

I had over 30 razors at one point in time then I downSized to 15, then to my favorite 10.... this is a razor I gotta add to my collection cause I always wanted to try the REX. Good stuff Kevy! 💈😁✌🏻💈

Nicely done Kevy💈💈 I find TOBS creams take minimal water to make a great lather, just a few drops does it for me but I do use a bowl. I don't know about this razor, have heard the head doesn't maintain alignment properly. Haven't used it so can't testify to that fact but don't want to use my face for the test😉 Glad it worked for you, everybody will have differing opinions. Great video and commentary with the review. I have the Rex Ambassador also and it’s a great razor but in all fairness it’s based on the Gibbs razor and looks very similar. It might mean that the company that makes the Pearl did the same thing.

Hey Kev, I like the CNC razors, I noticed they line up real good. My eyes are okay and I tend to adore CNC razors more so among all others. I actually miss the crickets in the drain... Sounds to quiet😂😂😂
Razor looks sharp. Your killing me over here, Plisoft, (top of the pops 1972, sweet, little willy) Tried your method with my brand new used Progress this morning, super shave, outstanding. 1 2 1 5, That clean up pass really promotes the term light touch. I had no calculator so I couldn't figure out the difference between .5 & 1/2 thus the regular #'s cheereo
I enjoyed the shave tonight. You do very informative reviews. Needed the laugh today over the blades lol. Spent my day in my butcher shop As always. And with covid everything is so tense. Nice to enjoy a nice simple shave. Keep it up and stay well

At my age, my Willy seems to be a Variant, but I can't seem to find the adjustable part. I may have to try that new release - the Viagriant.

I agree that the alignment looks uneven from side to side as well as one end to the other. Nice looking razor, though.
Matt P posted a pic with a pic of the flexi and a level reading tool. The flexi head wasn’t even.
Many people have the exact same problem with the Rex. And at 4x the price

L''Oreal After Shave Balm is also a favourite of mine, but I tend to give slight preference to Noxema After Shave Balm, which I find a little more hydrating. Have you tried it?

Nice shave! That razor would be a good option for me as my first adjustable as I'm not a fan of the big head of the Variant or the cheap zamak of the Progress/Futur. I also don't want to spend a couple of hundreds on it. Yaqi also has a Gibbs (the original French razor that spawned the Ambassador and the rest) clone/tribute sold on some markets so I might wait to see how they compare.

Hello Kevy I have a question for you. I would like to know about the aggressiveness of the Flexi, in your opinion the Merkur 500 generally is it a mild aggressiveness compare to the Pearl Flexi? Thanks always in advance for your answers.

This design was originally created by a French razor company called Gibs. Rex perfected this design and then pearl made a mockery out of it. It looks like a complete rip off.

What company? Rex? The Ambassador is a clone of the original French Gibbs adjustable razor. Gibbs is no longer in business so everybody can use the patents.

j'ai acheté ce rasoir, et essayé avec lame gillette boite verte, premier passage a position 2 et ensuite position 1, je ne suis pas allé au-dela, car j'ai une peau fine et poil fin, déjà là je sens la lame en 2, trés bon rasage, mais je préfère mon rasoir D cosmétique acheté sur aliexpress avec gap a 0.70 qui est un rasoir super doux et efficace pour 22 euros, il est vraiment super, bon c'est une copie du razorock mamba 70, mais une très bonne copie

I don't know buddy, but although both razor's are very similar I think the Rex has its own charm, you can see that the performance is clearly and effectively in the Rex, at least that's how I perceive it, TOBS of the best essences out there for shaving.

Which one to choose? Rex or Pearl?
Rex felt smoother and the materials are nicer. However, if I was buying one tomorrow I would go for the Pearl. At a quarter of the price than the Rex, it doesnt feel that different and the fit and finish is really nice. Kevy 👍

I don't get why you shaved with the Willy razor blades. You're testing a razor for the first time and you should have used a razor blade you are familiar with so it won't factor into the quality of the shave. If the shave is shitty then how do you determine if it's because of the razor or the blade?
If the shave was shitty, I would have tried it again with a blade I'm familiar with. These blades came with the razor and they recommended using one of them in this model. I like trying out new blades and these felt good. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 Yes but if the shave went bad now you're wondering; was it the blade or the razor? That's why you always test a new razor with a familiar blade. Take out one of the variables. Watch Kensurfs test the same razor and you'll understand what I mean
Kevy, adjust the flexi and watch the blade gap, does it stay even? My flexi is way off after 3. It’s like the spring is not stiff enough to hold the bar, it moves very easily with a finger.
Ill try that and let you know. It felt ok on setting 6 but I'll take a look. That doesnt sound right. Have you contacted them to let them know? Kevy 👍

Great shave and review. I think the Willy blade must have been made specifically for Willy Wonka to shave with up to his standards. The Plexi razor might be ok, but I’m more inclined with the Rex Ambassador just to stick with originality. The mic picking up the blade feedback is louder than a jet engine or an explosion in comparison

Poor man's Rex Kevy?
I wouldn't calk it that. It felt very similar to the Rex in how they both shave. The Rex has better materials and the knurling is nicer. Two very good razors. Kevy 👍
