Good advise on the alum. We are on the same page on this topic. Another ingredient i’m on the fence about is EDTA which is in some soaps or aftershave. I’ll check out your garage channel. I’d love to see more on your VW. Lmfao!!! My kids have wrecked every towel we have !😂😂😂😂😂
Nice video Heiko. I like your razor stand. I wish I had the room for a larger stand but our bigger bathroom has very little shelf room. I use to use Afta until I discovered artisan soaps and aftershaves. Have a great weekend. 👍🎅🎅
24:15 My kids do the same thing and they're teens now. It's mostly leftover makeup. They would rather scrub the rest off with the towel than have a truly clean face. Because that takes more time and is, like, suuuper inconvenient bruh. 😂
So happy to see you using some of the stuff I sent! (This is my shaving channel FYI) LOL those green boxes are tough to open! Love that u organized the razors! It was messing with my ocd 😂😂😂 haha about de89 & muhle r89 mean mugging each other! I need to sell a few razors. I need to figure out how u did those razor for sale posts you did on here 😂🙈 Keep up the good work Heiko. You motivate me to keep going on my channel.
I bought some Geoff Trumper's 'Officer and Gentlemen' shaving soap yesterday. Very hard puck designed for a scuttle. I considered putting the puck in a bowl as you've done Heiko, but instead shaved off a few shards and added them to my usual lathering bowl, bloomed in some distilled water for a few minutes, then lathered as usual. Fantastic results - very slick soap, lathered very easily for such a hard soap, and I had enough lather for a two pass head shave and two pass face shave. Shaving some soap off leaves the rest of the puck nice and dry, and I can control how much is getting used.
I have a small metal measuring spoon that's ideal for carving off fine shards of soap, or scooping out the right amount of softer soaps or creams. I don't think you need a grater necessarily - just make sure you bloom the soap well.@@Heiko-shaves
Great video, I had the same result as you. I like my Pearl Flexi but the Open Comb version isn't comfortable to shave with. As you said, the teeth on the comb are very sharp. When I shave with it I cannot tell if it's the comb or the razor blade making the shave uncomfortable. IMO the Merkur Progress is much better than both of the Pearls for the price. The Pearls still have blade gap issues.
Absolutely agree. The Progress isn't a modern design and people might think it is outdated but it still provides good value for money and it is a great shaver. I recently tried the Parker Variant Open Comb. That one is a great Progress clone with some modern touches. I was very impressed.
Hahaha couldn't help but laugh at the notion of a SAFETY RAZOR design being outdated. I don't have a merkur progress or parker variant(yet) but I really admire the cleverness of its design and construction.
Thanks for your video! Even I do not agree with your all-mild preference, good point to compare them. I have a Pearl Flexi OC, using 5-3-2 settings for daily routine. You should try shaving with Shavette like Feather Artist Club then test the adjustable DE razors again. Efficient and aggressive might have different meanings… :)
I determine mildness by shave results and skin irritation. If I get a good result with minimal irritation, that is what I am looking for. Everyone has their preference. Thanks for commenting
NIce shave, well explained ( as usual ) and like you I don't like the open comb. I have the Rockwel 6 and like your 2, it doesn't do much on the first two settings ( in my comparisson with a Adjustable Parker which seem to scrape my sking off at setting 1 ) It's just a shame with the Flexi, because I do like the way it looks.
Was it the Parker Variant that scraped your skin? I just tried the Parker Variant Open Comb and it was great. Very smooth and at setting one very mild.
Are they on Unfixed Version 14 or 15 now, I wonder. I guess they would make good fishing boat anchors. You, can't find too many razors as heavy as these overweight monsters.😄 Your earlier videos showing the core problem with these razors, Heiko, are epic! Glad to see you got rid of one of them. So much better stuff out there!
Thnx for another insightful review on the modern DE Pearl Adjustable Razors .Think now on these particular adjustables will pass Last week on Ebay picked up a vintage fully functional slightly discolored Gillette Slim with free shipping for about $ 21 These and the other vintage Gillette Adjustable Models ,the Black Beauty are my faves to shave with. They are nimble, fairly lightweight and the small heads make shaving so easy and pleasurable for me
Those vintage razors are great. I just did a shave with the new Parker Variant Open Comb. That one gets my recommendation. It is truly smooth and at setting one starts at a mild setting.
I do like the Pearl Flexi, and it offers great value for money (assuming you get one without the alignment issues), but I don't like the weight. It's handle heavy, and I find it detracts from the shave. The Rex Ambassador is better balanced and easier to shave with; I always find myself being very careful with the Flexi. For that reason, I'm not interested in the Flexi OC - although I do like OC razors, and enjoy using my Gillette New Long Comb and Yaqi Mellon.
Moin Heiko, wieder mal eine prima Rasur! Habe den Flexi OC mittlerweile auch im Bestand und freue mich auf den Vergleich mit der CC-Version. Bin sehr gespannt! Herzliche Grüße Jörg

I just made a community post for those eBay listings. Thanks for watching and being so encouraging.
@@Heiko-shaves thanks for the tip I’ll try it out!

That is probably the best way of dealing with hard soaps. Thanks for the tip. I might get myself one of those tiny cheese graders to do that.

HaHa, "Not Terrible" what a commentary on the Flexi razors. Having used the SB Flexi, you are correct.
Great reviews, thanks for sharing!

I have never used either, but I do want a regular Flexi. But I just bought a replated gold‘61 Fatboy for its collectibility.
Good choice. I love the Gillette Fatboy .

Wie geht es wie steht's? Ich hab gehört, dass du Krank bist. Ich hoffe es ist nichts Schlimmes und dir geht es bald wieder besser. Gruß, Heiko
I like Williams but you are correct. Way to expensive.
Needs some file work
Wasn't aluminium in deodorants liked to breast cancer? Marvys, that is the only other cheap barber shave soap left...
Aluminum is linked to some health risks. But I think the experts are still debating the research results.
Hello, I’d like to message you to talk shaving 😊. Anyway to contact you? Thank you.
