That thing looks badass for a '99
Party like its 1999!
Agree
Looks bettee that most modern bikes. Amazing design
Trippy_g00n it was $25k give or take too! Damn ! My bad $32k wow
the 90's were sportbike golden age
The rarest yamaha R pictured next to the rarest honda CBR
Time stamp?
@AuraLiveWax 23 units? Holy shit
I never knew this thing existed. Thanks for the knowledge. Keep up the good work. Love the videos!
Is it just me or are the 7 class just perfection? Loved my ZX7, I love my GSXR750. I've owned/ rode larger and smaller. Rev characteristics and power to weight ratio make for a overall well balanced machine! Good for a day of carving canyons, a day at the track, or the daily commute.
yup 750's are a good balance between a middle class and a liter bike
Doc Moto love your Gixxer because Suzuki will no longer produce the GSX-R 750
my neighbor had one ,and it is the one and only r7 in my country, lucky
Chat shit
Of All the Things That Never Happened, This is the one that Never Happened the most
Nope I can believe them, guy down the road from me (uk) had one never knew it was this rare
why people take it so serious on internet ?
it's something that you can't even know if it's true or not
if this man lie or not i think it's not the most critical thing to discuss afterall :P
@BLACKLIST 원터치 he meant HE didn't know it was rare, not the owner.
I've always loved the looks of the R7. It looks a bit more muscular than the R1 and R6. The front end is classy and understated.
I do love the looks of many bikes from the 750cc four/1000cc twin era of superbike racing, but the R7 just may be the prettiest of all.
People used to swap the R7 engines for R1 engines 160+ bhp with no worries about the crank. Beautiful and rare bikes.
been here since 9k, keep it up with the quality videos mann
HeroRR, you have become one of my favorite channels on UA-cam. Not that it matters. Thanks for the very enjoyable content. Most channels are about the channel owner. I.E. *hey, look at me.* keep up the great work and thank you again.
Absolutely spot on! Couldn't agree with you more!
your history videos are the best. of my few "bell iconed" channels on yt. can't wait for the next one.
Thank you!!
Love your content HeroRR. Keep making these videos.
Dude! I love your videos, Very impressed how you did a video about the R7. Mad props! Keep it up!
I remember when this bike came out. At the time I was building my gixer 7/11 and riding one of my cr500's at towercity.
Brought back memories, thanks.
Oh wow. Something ive never heard of before. Im liking thia.
Im liking thia? Who are Im and thia.
Hugh Jaanus this* it happens to me every time
I can still hear Haga's R7 shrieking around Laguna Seca about 2000rpms higher than the other inline 4s. He rode the hell out of that bike both races, definitely made an impression. Shame he couldn't win the whole thing.
Hope you get to 100K. Your video's are really informative. Keep it up!
The R7 is a piece of art. Subbed.
i was about it read it as "shit"
.
btw this bike is gorgeous 😍
@@itsdudewithacamera 😂😂
Steven looks the exact same as r6
In 2005 one of my friends bought one and told me this is an R7. i never believed him cuz we have never heard of something like that
Love your videos! Keep them coming! PS I have a 2002 VFR and you definitely inspired me to buy it!
Love this series. Thanks HeroRR!
Seen one and sat on it . Several years ago my mate used to deliver special motorbikes to collectors ,on his way he called round to show it me .zero miles and perfect
Love all of your videos and just like this
Great video thanks for making this. I hope you get to see one in person someday.
Just subscribed, thanks for all your hard work.
Just realized I've been watching your videos on here for like a year, also have a vfr and even chatted with you on Facebook when you joined the vfr group and never subscribed to you . Totally sorry bro! Love your videos and what you do and how you educate!
I feel ashamed to call myself a Yamaha Fan Boy.....Didn't know this gem of a bike even existed.
Great vidoe bro....thanks for the info
Same here mate😢
Hahaha...I'm a die hard fan too, but I do know much...It's okay. We needed to start somewhere, right?
Check out noriyuki Haga racing this bike in WSBK.
@@cranky1812 definitely
Do not be ashamed dude, this bike was dud, and definitely not a gem. The first gen R1 was a gem though.
I remember they used to make R7 rep bodywork for the R1,
Perfect bike really, R7 looks with reliability and the power of a 1000cc engine
That body color scheme does look good.. great vid!!
It had titanium connecting rods not a titanium crankshaft
Not not both?!??!?!
@@TheRealMrRoboto nah not both, a titanium crankshaft would have to be larger than a standard one (in mass) to be as strong unfortunately. The elastic modulus (how much force [psi] needs to be put into something before it bends/breaks) Aluminium is ~9m PSI at "engine running temperatures", Titanium is ~15.5m psi, whereas the majority of forged cranks are made from medium-carbon-steel alloys, which have an elasticity of ~28m psi.
It's about finding the balance between size, weight, strength and cost with the majority of parts, and alloys tend to win out when factoring weight gains etc against the cost.
@@the_mad_ratter Thats what i thought!
You do make some good videos bro don’t sub to to many people but would be glad to help u meet ur goal ride safe brotha! And keep up the great content.
Thank you!
Great video, I’d never heard of this bike but I’m glad I stumbled across your video. Well done - subscribed.
Subscribed. I appreciate your appreciation of this truly special machine. Great job!
I love these history videos... Great job
You have good taste in motorcycles I love KTMs
You will reach the 100k mate. I very liked the video, keep up the good work
Just yesterday I had the opportunity to see one on display at a Yamaha dealership in Portugal Guimarães, it is a very beautiful bike without a shadow of a doubt.
Been subscribed since you had 10k subs. One of the best motorcycle content on UA-cam! Keep it up
Thank you!
Seen those several in UK, we have more than 10 that's for sure, been sitting one of them at one of the dealers in UK it was for sale in immaculate condition for £40k
Bruh you are killing it with these informational videos
Nice Work. Informative & Entertaining. I Never even knew that an R7 existed but I still Like the ZX7 's more.
I’ve only ever seen one and it was at a bike meet coming off of a trailer
When I went to MMI in Orlando almost a decade ago, the Yamaha elective had an R7, it blew me away that one was there, at first I assumed it wasn't an actual R7. Most people that I went to school with there didn't even understand what it was or why I was geeking out, their comments were something like "it's a 750 sport bike, so what, just an r6 with 150cc more displacement". You'd assume that people going to school to work in the motorcycle industry, especially taking a Yamaha specific class would have heard of the R7 or atleast see the trick bits on it and realize it was something much more special. Sad.
So, not sure if it's still there, I've heard it was there for years before that, so it is definitely possible they still have it and work on it in the Yamaha electives. The school in my opinion is a rip off even with military education benefits, I feel like they really take advantage of service members to make an easy profit, so I'm not suggesting going to it, but definitely take a tour if in the area to see an R7. Easy, free way to check out an R7 if they still have the bike.
Mikkalangelo F so tell me, did they teach shit you already knew? I’ve worked on bikes for almost 40 years and worked at shops side by side with MMI grads and they didn’t impress
That bike was there when I attended in 2004. MMI students had a poor rep among Central Florida motorcycle shops back then and it looks like nothing has changed.
Very informative and enjoyable to watch. Thanks you for sharing. 👍
Great video, love your content!
Haga made me become a Yamaha fan boy :-) love watching the samurai of slide on the R7
NitroNori👍🏼
6:43, didn't realise it was gamaha xD still enjoy the vids though!
That is a timeless look! Wow! Beautiful! I can't believe I haven't been able to to see this in person! Amazing look
Seen 1 of these at a track event here in RSA (Cape Town) about 3 years ago. The bike sat "cool" the whole day, drawing crowds. Beautiful bike up close! Great vid.. Thanks.
"South Africa" Only heard it now. lol
I knew that the R7 existed but I have never seen one like ever
20 years old design!? This amazing looking bike puts many modern but bad looking and strange designs to shame.
i subbed when you where talking about it. keep the videos up man
R7 has been my ultimate dream bike for years. Love to see a video on it.
"It is rare to even see one, sit on it or ride it" looks at my countrys craiglist: one for sale (track one and a street legal one) lol
What country are you in?
@@johnjacob688 netherlands
Joy Buning buy them both!
@@mathiasnkristensen if i would have the money and the license i would
I saw one for sale like 21k€ in my country, would have bought if i had the money.
the only one Ive ever seen is on display at the Barber Museum in Leeds Alabama
Great review, love Yamaha and it's nice to learn a little more everyday.
I've seen one of these about 8 years ago in Connecticut. I had an R6s at the time. Beautiful bike.
Great job on the video man love your content. But can you make a possible GSXR history video :)
I second that thought! 🤘
I remember when they came out. Ben Affleck got one, despite not qualifying with Yamahas racer requirements.
Great content as always, on a legendary bike that nobody talks about....I was ready to subscribe a second time.
I have never seen one in real life. I was in love with this bike when Haga was rear wheel stearing his WSB version all over the place!!! I remember at the time reading that it cost £22.5k to buy one of the 500 for on the road. It has been my favourite bike since forever.
There is one for sale in the Netherlands for €29000

Yo man love your vids. No drama but really really informative which is rare nowadays.
Thank you! :)
@@HeroRR You're welcome man. Dude which do you think is the best beginners bike in 2019.
One of my favorites UA-cam channels, keep up 👍🏍🏍🏍👍
Thank you for making this cool and interesting video please keep up the good work 😀👍👍
“Limited time offer” 😆
One for sale in Italy right now - 65,000 Euro ;)
You kill it every time. Thanks for the Yamaha love!
Great video. This has to be the most informative motorcycle news.
Hero is consistently releasing some of the best high quality informative videos on UA-cam right now, not just in the motorcycle scene. Keep it up🤙🏻🤙🏻
Thank you! :)
Please do more RC51 videos
Yes once the weather gets better!
Very good video, that bike really looks great!
This is awesome man! I'm so glad you did a story on this bike, it's been my favourite yamaha behind the Vmax, what a machine that R7 is. Subbed!!!
Edit: Just remembered I had a model of one as a kid! Shame I don't have ir anymore.
There’s one for sale in my city
I swear to god i have seen this bike , near san clemente ,near los angeles , and that day i was riding the The fat bob , and this bike just slipped pass through me ,
If u can do research try to find if someone near that area have seen or know about the owner.....
I am not a local soo idk much about the place....
Later on when i saw it parked near the beach i didnt know that this bike was so rare holy shit....
BRO! You've done it again, A++
Agreed, great content. Love this bike. Never heard of it till i played your introduction video 🎮 RIDE 3!
Yamaha r7 was nicknamed the arse heaven. LoL
that background music though 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Those graphics on the side you like so much are a nod to the late 80's FZ700 and FZ600 which are, along with the FZR series, the predecessors of the modern R6 and R1.
In 98 I owned one of the first r1s in the states and was very tempted by the Harris companies R7 bodywork kit to make it look Ike an R7. Wish I had as I agree that it was one of the most beautiful sport bikes ever built. Great video.
Me watching this in 2022 when yamaha is selling the r7
the crossplane twin sucks bro like give it a inline 4
Just buy an R6 and a sticker to cover the 6 with a 7.
It looks like a R1 and R6 mix
Your Videos are way better than most of the motorcycle review channels we have! Keep up the good work. Love from India
when i lived out in arizona ..i got a chance to see one at a bike night in scottsdale ...one of the most beautiful bikes that has been produced til this day
Those crankshafts looked like connecting rods to me. Just saying.
No those were connecting cranks lol
@@billrudolph8185 lmao
Sooo did the crank actually fail and he was showing us the wrong thing (faied conrods), or did the conrods fail and he said the wrong thing?
@@b1akjak yeah the connecting rods failed and he just said the crankshaft evidently he's not a mechanic LOL
Found 3 on eBay for about 20,000 pounds. Rare?
I actually knew a guy that had one. Awesome bikes! Still with those kick-ass looks in 2020
Absolutely brilliant video.
Mine is the 1999 R6,looks similar. I wish I had R7 instead. 🙂
I have a 2K R6 and I often wonder what it would be like to ride the mighty R7.
why can't they just re-make it!? 😭 basically a 600cc with more mid-range, plenty of real world power and just a small bit of extra weight. the only choice now for 750 is a GSX-R... 😕
You can choose mv agusta f3 800,,😂😂
@@yosephrahul7398 i need more shekels to acquire that ride 😅
@@taterc229 its gonna need more patient i guess..haha
Was ony made for homogolation purposes...superbike rules capped the limit for 4cyl bikes at 750 cc
Cheaper and more reliable to just get a ninja 636
I love this bike. I was even allowed to sit on one at a stand at the NEC motorcycle show in England back in 2014.
I was crushingly disappointed with the release of the new R7. I was hoping for a modern version of this that would compete directly with the GSX-R750.
I love your videos... Especially the history of bikes... Please do yzf R1.. In your next video
...!!!
my dad had one :D his biggest regret to this day is selling it
not so rare..I just went and googled it..found a few for sale already in about 10 seconds....about 25 grand for one with only 2,000 miles on it.
Two on sale in the UK on eBay
ya, I normally do a quick google on something ,BEFORE I post a comment..just found 4 more for sale lowest at 14,000...I think maybe the uploader of this should have done a guick google also before stating "this is sooooooo rare and you will never see one". unsubscribe this moron
98,001! Keep pushing brotha
I got recommended this when yamaha R7 gets introduced
i didnt know this even existed and i have an r6 hah
Honda fans hit like👍👍👍
Saw it and photographed it in Switzerland where i live ! Fantastic bike !
Subscribed! You won’t me over with the R7 video.
