Quick and right to the point. No unnecessary words. Love this.
Thank You, glad it was helpful
I got one yesterday. Very happy with it. I build model ships and it performs great on small wood pieces. I drink when using it also!
It’s a good piece of equipment, I have had mine for a while and it has continued to perform. I’m glad the video was helpful.
I have now had this belt and disc sander for years and I can add a few comments. Firstly, the disc sander is great. Functions really well - a very useful tool. The belt is not so good. The drive belt is simply not up to the job and will quickly strip out if there is much load put on the belt. I got sick of changing the belt and gave up. Just use the disc now. Ryobi totally under-engineered the belt drive and it is such a shame. Sum up - the disc part of this tool totally makes this well worth having.
Thanks For The Feedback
Very simple 👍 I love videos when people don’t talk too much and goes directly to the point 😊
I am glad the video was helpful.
I really like Ryobi, I have a lot of Ryobi tools and they have lasted for years and not a single one has broken.
I like their tools as well. My sander is still going strong 💪
@@saultytexas nice, I looked at this video because I'm about to buy one today and I just wanted to see what other people thought of it.
Other than the hand rest on the belt sander fence and slightly higher quality switch, this is identical to Harbor Freights Bauer 20106E-B I just bought for $109.99.
I couldn't figure out how to raise and lower the belt sander part. Dumb I know but when I couldn't find my booklet (lost ?????) i turned to YT. Your video is the first to come up. Easy peasy. Thank you for helping out a dummy.
Glad the video was helpful.
Now this is the kind of assembly video I wanna watch! Straight up and to the point! I chuckled a couple times too! Great job! I’m ready to sand! 👍😃
Glad you liked the video. Thanks for the support.
You're so close to the 1000 sub mark, helping out to get you there!
Solid video, helped getting an idea of what the sander is.
We recently started expanding our business and need a few custom built drones so we are purchasing some tools to build the new drones, this sander is on the list!
Cheers!
Thank you so much for the support and glad the video was helpful, I hope to hit a 1000 subs soon.
Just got one. Was actually very surprised with the quality of it. It’s a good tool that seems to work great so far
Glad it’s working out well.
Excellent, fast and to the point
Thank you for watching
Your video rocked had me busting up half the time…made it simple with some tips and some humor to bad people doing other reviews can’t do the same …
Glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate the feedback.
Super helpful. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful
Very good video and on your recommendation, I will buy one of these. Thanks.
Glad the video was useful.
Excellent narration. 👍🏻
Thank You
Best review
Thank You
Thank You
Was there a left over piece? Because it should have a support bracket on the right hand side of the disc sanding plate.
I didn’t have any pieces left over but everything that it came with got assembled. As much as I can remember it didn’t.
The HF Bauer has the exact same slot in the plastic implying some kind of right hand support. Only clamps on the left but is surprisingly stable.
Their is a rubber stick thing that cleans sandpaper and makes it last longer i highly recommended it just search on amazon “ sandpaper cleaner”
Yep! It’s an abrasive stick and it works like a charm. Really good for cleaning those epoxy messes on the belt sander. I got me one and I highly recommend it.
@@saultytexas I will point out that I caution my finger on my sander like yours again 2nd time round through the nail and into the bed and it hurts
You still have all your fingers, so it was a success 🤪
I have a video coming up in a few months where I almost lose the whole finger. It’s a good project but user error on my part for sure.
Hey buddy. Im into makin stuff outta brass. How do u think thatll work?
I use it for wood working but I have sharpened a few metal tools with it and it performed fine. The motor is strong and steady so “in theory” I would say they it should be fine. I’ve had it for over a year and get a lot of use out of it and I haven’t had a problem yet.
Wow, so you can buy this exact sander with Wen or Bauer branding, I just figured out. I got the Bauer at HF for $99.
Hell with a cold one .give me tea
👍
do you happen to know what size dust hose you would need to fit this?
I’m not sure, sorry
The 2.5 inch hose on my rigid shop vac fits
Great video thx brother! PS is it still working? I think I am getting one for christmas...
Thanks, and Yes it still works. I was really happy with the quality of the product. I had a Harbor Freight sander before I got the Ryobi. This sander is good quality in my opinion. It does what I need it to do. A lot higher quality than my harbor freight sander.
@@saultytexas Thanks brother my gift will be coming soon!!!
Do the sanding belt and disk come in the box with the sander?
Yes, you get a sanding belt and disc sample in the box.
@@saultytexas ......good...I'll buy a backup of both.
What's the grit number of the sandpaper?
The belt and disc are both 80 grit.
You are funny 😂😂😂😂
The thanks
Thanks
Good review/unboxing! Helped with my purchase decision.
Now, for mostly the new woodworkers/other out there please do read (and try to keep) your manual. I know the old joke of "who reads manuals?" but seriously, these are power tools. Out of all the manuals out there these are the ones you do not want to not read and throw away. Power tools can hurt you pretty bad, really fast and/or damage the unit. Skim through it at least. Also, don't drink (or anything that might alter your ability to work, use common sense). I know he said "at your own risk", but don't, don't even risk it in the first place! I know it's just a sander but if someone is this negligent with this, this someone will most likely be the same with other units. Safety first!
Thank You
I’d 💯agree definitely do not ever consider drinking alcohol while using any kind of power tool.
I love a drink just like the next bloke but I think it very very irresponsible for him to even joke about it .
Thanks bro
You’re Welcome
I’m lazy. So thanks for this aha cheers
Your welcome, glad the video was helpful.
it is harbor freight just different name but i do like ryobi
Agreed.
Hi nice review. Is this powerful enough to sand wooden discs cut from my apple tree? (people call them "cookies")
It should be, I do similar discs for my bowl making. As long as you have a good piece of sandpaper and let the motor turn a few seconds before you start sanding it should be fine. I personally have never had an issue. I had a harbor freight sander that crapped out on me after a few month. I have been using this sander consistently for a while and it’s still going strong. People don’t like the Ryobi brand but it’s a decent sander for the money you pay.
Does this have dust collection?
It comes with a port for dust collection but it does not have the attachment to collect the dust. In my opinion after using this product, even if it had the attachment it would still kick up a bunch of dust.
👍
Thank You
Wish you would have hooked up some dust control to show how well that works. Good overview otherwise.
Thank You
it sands fine but is a pain to square up the table
Hope the video was helpful and you’re squaring goes better
Can you use it for metal. And what do you recommend for metal grinding
What disk. And belt should you use for metal. ?
The motor is good and I haven’t had any problems, HOWEVER I use it for wood working. I feel as though if you were gonna use it for metal it would be fine.
The newer ones made by Bosch are not nearly as powerful as the older ones. Harbor Freight has gone way down in quality lately. I have an old, 20 years, Skil 4x36 that replaced the newer Wen when it fell apart after 2 years. The Wen was made by Bosch too. I am using the old Skil and it's still as powerful as ever.
I had the Harbor Freight sander and it was very disappointing
it is the same as the HF Bouer tool....made in the same factory
Well, for me it just works a little better than the other Harbor Freight option
I wanted to hear the machine
Sorry but hope it was helpful anyway
*that came without* I should say
I'd go with hercules over ryobi anyday
I first checked out the harbor freight dual sander, FORGET IT! Junk
My first sander was the one from harbor freight and it was a piece of garbage for sure. It worked for about a week or so before it started to give me problems. Eventually I just threw it in thr trash where it belongs.
Wud it sand metal
I’ve only tried wood but the motor is strong and I think it will grind metal
You should have read ALL the instructions
Probably Right
"Comes with all this bulkiness for no damn reason" ....that maybe packing
