These individual Black Forest Trifles are a modern twist on the Black Forest Cake. They use the same components; chocolate, cherries, and whipped cream, yet in a slightly different form. That is, instead of cake, I've used chocolate brownies. The brownies are cut into small chunks and are layered with Morello cherries and whipped cream. So easy and sooo good.

Hi Stephanie, I just watched your video for a black forest trifle and it looks delicious. I was wondering what I could use as a substitute for the morale cherries because I look for them before and have not been successful finding them here in Washington state. It is cherry season here and I have lots and lots of fresh cherries already. I have already got them pitted and frozen so we have delicious cherries throughout the winter, I say that every year and we don't have nearly enough! Can you recommend a way to process the cherries I have and make a syrup that would give me the taste of the morale of cherries that you use in this recipe? I enjoy your show but I have to admit one thing, I do this myself so please don't take it personal but we are rambling! I know you most likely are living in Canada and there is a difference between the temperature, C/F but I would hope that people would know by now that 170 Celsius would be around 350 Fahrenheit and 20 minutes to 25 minutes because ovens very and hotspots so check your oven for actual temperature settings to see what the actual temperature is, just go to the local store and get an oven thermometer and confirm the temperature with the settings and move the thermometer to other areas of the oven to check for a change either higher temp or lower do you check for even cooking. Anyway sorry about that. I do love your recipes however and you seem like a very sweet person and I do like you. As I said before, you remind me of myself and your sweet so that makes me sweet to you I guess. I would love to be able to meet you if you do shows on the road in the states, that would be great except I'd be embarrassed by telling you this information. You say 1 cup of flour is 130 grams? Google says 120 grams. I'm going to trust what you say but why the discrepancy?
Watch this video where I explain why it can vary. All my recipes are tested at 130g and I don’t use cups to test. I don’t know where people get 120g per cup. Try it yourself and see.

You can normally use bleached all purpose flour instead of unbleached.
