    I really love joinery, I worked under a traditional Japanese woodworker for a little while helping out after he got injured. I learned a so much about building pieces without much more than the intricate joints themselves holding everything together.

    Is the cutter of your marking gauge loose so it rotates across the wood fibers or is it tightly secured so it slices? My cutter spins freely and I feel like it would work better if it was attached tight.
