my 2020 q5 phev charges to 28-32 miles of EV range even though the specs list it as 18 miles. it's a great vehicle.

mine too! i get 27-29...very seldom below 27 or 30 or above but it's a great vehicle, no regrets!

20 miles of EV range is kinda poor IMO. With the RAV doubling that, and VAG pushing the electrification thing hard, I’d expect at least 30 miles in this type of offering.

It is closer to 30 in real world use given a 14.1kWh vs 18.1 in the RAV4 (77%). I’m not sure how the EPA conducted their test. Obviously depends on driving style but I’m surprised at the discrepancy between real world reports and the epa estimate

@@schmoestudy that would be a bit more acceptable, but still down on relative efficiency (miles per kwh) versus the Toyota. Just strange that they'd either intentionally rate it this way or present that to the EPA for whatever simulations they run for range. The Outlander PHEV has had 22 miles of range for quite a few years now I think and even the Ford Escape has over 30 rated. Odd to me that a premium or luxury offering would be behind the more pedestrian and mainstream.
