    You gotta love & respect the guy, because he's willing to teach everyone what he knows, and how to do it. He has the desire to help anyone who wants to play get better, and very personable & unassuming while doing it.

    for those that wish to know, the reason why all the bends in the key of C minor fit in the key of A minor, is because when bending all the notes in C minor, it bring the 3rd, the 5th and tonic, all into the key of C major(except for C, which would bend into C# or D). In closing, C is A's relative major, which has a lot of functionality.

    Bucket head used to be my favorite guitarist, I don't know how I've gone so many years without hearing this Master class shredder, I learned a lot on my own but this guys videos are super easy to understand, I would be light years ahead if I started learning from this dude.. catching up but will never be anywhere near as good.

      It's funny you mentioned that! Paul Gilbert actually was actually Buckethead's teacher and very formative in his development. Bucket talks about it here: /watch?v=otrqEZifHeg

    Paul you are great as always I never get tired of watching you, always something fresh, new and exciting.
    I'm so glad you never give up but are a true musical explorer an insperation to every aspiring guitarist you truly are one of the greatest players who has ever walked the planet please never stop attacking that crazy noise maker you do it so well stay cool ! Curtis Fordahl a definite student and fan always, I hope you release another album ! Or at least some new songs preforming with a full band if anybody deserves a place in the rock and roll hall of Fame
    It's you, you have definitely earned to respect to be honored because of all your life changing achievement's you are always a positive roll model and that is something to be proud of, you make us all want to keep on rocking never a full moment I just want to say thank you in case you don't hear it enough, no really, thank you for just being you .

    Of all the technically-minded shredders, Paul is the best. He has a fun and expressive vibe about him that I don't get from that Malmsteen fella

    • @wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa
      @wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa 8 років тому +4

      +Alexander Olson Very true. Malmsteen is a showman, not one bit a teacher at all. His funniest videos are his instructional videos where he shows you how fast he can play.

    • @yrussq
      @yrussq 8 років тому

      Agreed till YM passage. YM has an absolutely different composition of shredding and most of the time PG is worse in that aspect. I'm talking about YM Rising Force stuff.
      But PG is far superior in many other aspects like impro and not so metal stuff. Imho.

    • @wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa
      @wolfgang2007aaaaaaaa 8 років тому

      Yes I agree PG is far superior , the bonus is he is a great teacher, and thats what makes him more interesting than the same'ol neo shred guy that everybody knows.

    • @maggyfrog
      @maggyfrog 5 років тому +1

      as great as malmsteen is, there's something oddly missing in his overall sound. if you don't feel like listening to something that gives you that malmsteen rush, you don't really listen to his stuff.
      with paul gilbert, i could be in any mood and still want to binge listen to his stuff. also, gilbert is a real artist for not being afraid to evolve and do stuff outside metal shreds. malmsteen is just the same in anything he plays.
