The rhythms... make sense. If you count 8th notes (or 16ths, not sure)over foley's bassline and count every third note, Chris Dave uses that as his pulse (his quarter note) Crazy!
philosophical/psychological take on this playing two songs at once where one overpowers the other: Its an expression of the adaptive strategy of over powering others rather than succeeding through collaboration and love. The other noise is always there, and is always dissonant to you because you will not collaborate with it (or, rather, in love as opposed to power, nothing is dissonant to you- your being encompasses things and theres no dynamic of competition once your ego is healthy)- Chris Daves playing and attitude in these shows his “victory” of overpowering, with the force of a war, an “other”- which is only there when the attitude is one of competition rather than collaboration. Idk not fully clear thoughts but worth sharing
Hey Tom, I can't remember if I've already asked, but is there a way to see or purchase a higher-quality version/copy of this? I've been mesmerized by everything you've shared from this show for years!
Hi Seth, I’m afraid not! This is all we have. What a great show that was. I wonder if we’ll ever get the chance again to film another session like that. It really was a right-place-right-time situation (and generous of promotors Patsy & Zhenya to allow us in + the camera operators to give their time and expertise). I feel lucky to have been allowed to edit the clips together. Pure adrenaline! I’m really happy the clips have given such enjoyment. Chris + Foley + Zhenya = 🔥💥😊
+StompL7 LOL !! Mononeon is copying FOLEY, you MUST be in your early 20's Foley debuted with MILES DAVIS in 1987 bro And was the 1st person to ever wear that haz-mat jacket that inspired these younger musicians

Crazy!
This makes me laugh- in a good way. I Love it!. Audacious multiple time signatures at the same time and it kicks ass!
One of the best, if not the best funk bassline ever written. Instant hook.
it isnt even funk its 90s hiphop
@@happysh_t4202 Where do you think they got the basslines from? Samples from before the 90s

+Brian Russick - Drummer / Percussionist hes an alien. gotta be
i did i cover of this for a jazz festival and let me tell you it was one of the hardest songs to play on drums lmao
so this is what you can do when you have a metronome surgically implanted in your brain
Eh, he's drumming good, but he speeds up and slows down. Going more by feel
@@razors98 he was talking about the bass player
@@razors98 yeah, but literally every drummer speeds up and slows down
@@razors98 Chris Dave is a human metronome.
