  • Jagraj Singh talks about encouraging the youth, especially those who show a real interest in Sikhi, by pushing them forwards and keeping them motivated. We also learn about a conversation that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji (Ninth Sikh Guru) had with their son, Guru Gobind Singh Ji when they were just nine years old.

Amrit is not about age, it's about when you are ready to give your head to the Guru.

Well that's true - Age is not a barrier to Amrit, one can become a gursikh when he or she feel magnetization of gurbani and truly willing to serve the panth as well. I'm 19 yrs old , and on the pathway of becoming a baptised sikh with guru ji 's benisons

Are you sindhi !? Because yes , we sindhis are really into sikhi but when it comes to take Amrit , our families Don't allow us too ........ But once you've decided you want to be a true Gursikh , then do Ardaas 🙏🏻🙏🏻 , just one Ardaas in Guru Sahib's feet , ki vo tumhe apna bna de 🥺❤️...... Nd once Guru Sahib Ji himself decided to bless you with his Khande baate di phaul , his Amrit , to accept you as his own kid 🥺❤️....... Then he himself would help you .
      1. I would suggest , to have pakka Nitnem . No matter what . (sorry , I myself do not have pakka Nitnem , but I'm trying to , he's the giver , nd he surely will )
      2. NEVER EVER doubt Thou's decisions 🚫. ( Ask Thou for that Bharosa as well )
      3. If you do not have sadh-sangat , (friends who help you in your spiritual growth) , keep watching Basics of Sikhi's videos , Amritvela trust's (India) videos , Gur-Sangat's (Pakistan) videos . Go for virtual Sangat ✅
      4. Whenever in doubt or have a question ❓❓, do Ardas & Go for Hukumnama 🙏🏻

Just noticed a post on Instagram where a 9 year old kid converted to Islam, with his mother's concent. I disagreed because at that age kids are innocent you can probably give a kid a toy or sweets and get them climb a tree. But ask that same thing when they're in the late teens he/she will refuse. So was I wrong?

@Basics of Sikhi Offer yourself Completely to the Guru with ABSOLUTE INVOLVEMENT AND INTENSITY and without thinking what will happen to me. If you manage to do this then MAGIC will happen. Why?? Because only Darshan without Distortion Leads to Devotion and Dissolution.

So, it's good to ask questions but here's some clarification. We do not have any Sikh guru's but Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book. There are knowledgable Sikh but they are not gurus in the sense that Guru Nanak or Guru Gobind Singh Ji were. Also, once you are given amrit, you cannot cut any hair on your body, regardless of whether or not it's your beard or hair on your head. Once you take amrit, you make an oath to Waheguru, yourself, and the Khalsa to always keep your 5 K's and uphold the values of the Khalsa/Panth. I hope this answered your question.

      Sat Sri Akal ji.
You know, to walk on Guru Sahib ji's path- this beautiful path of spirituality. You first have to change your mindset about a few things. One of which is that you don't belong to any caste other than Humanity. We are all the creation of One, part of One and Oneness prevails in us. ❤️🙏
Another thing is that sikhi starts from inside. As Bhai Sahab mentioned that Take Amrit when you feel you are ready. By which he meant that take Amrit when you think, you are ready to give yourself 'completely' to Guru Sahib ji. AND that IS the actual meaning of taking amrit. Taking Amrit has a deeper meaning and is much more than what people think. But these all are- you can say discussions of an advanced step. As just like in school we start from level 1 and 'then' move further. This path of Sikhi also has different levels. It is necessary to go step by step.
Therefore, the beginning step as Guru Sahib ji guides us is to do Naam simran, meditation, joining the holy congregation for Kirtan, going to Gurdwara, doing Path of various Banis, waking up for Amritvela, doing sewa etc.
This is how it starts and how gradually and naturally one gets ready to be completely of Guru Sahib ji.

May Waheguru bless you to walk on this true path. You know, even your thinking on walking on this path is a sign of HIS mercy.
This life is precious, let's not waste it anymore. The only purpose of our lives is to connect to The One, The Eternal, to win this game of life. If you start, I assure you that you'll observe an amazing change in your life!
Apologies for anything wrong. We are all imperfect beings. May Waheguru ji guide us all.
      Waheguru ji ka Khalsa
      Waheguru ji ki Fateh.

      @@traviscondy3978 Sat Sri Akal ji.
No offense tho, but Guru Granth Sahib ji are not a book. They are our living Guru.
As Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj states, "Aagiya bhai Akaal ki , tabi chalayo panth. Sabh Sikhan ko hukam hai GURU maniyo GRANTH. GURU GRANTH ji maniyo PRAGAT guraan ki DEH. Jo Prabh ko milbo ch'hae, khoj Shbd main leh"
      Translation:
"Under orders of the Immortal Being, the Panth was created. All the Sikhs are enjoined to ACCEPT the GRANTH as their GURU. CONSIDER GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI as 'EMBODIMENT' of the GURUS. Those who want to meet God, can find Him in Guru Sahib ji's hymns"
Therefore, Guru Granth Sahib are our Living Guru. They are our Guru Nanak Sahib ji, our Guru Gobind Singh ji. All we need is those eyes to see THEM. And Guru Sahib is the only one to bless us with that vision, so let's pray to Him and ask Him for it. 🙏❤️❤️
Apologies for anything inappropriate or offensive. May Waheguru ji bless us to walk on this beautiful path of true love.
      Waheguru ji ka Khalsa
      Waheguru ji ki Fateh. 🙏❤️🥰
