Sea Lion at Groudle Glen Railway

Narrow gauge steam engine "Sea Lion" travelling from Lhen Coan to Sea Lion Rocks and back at the Groudle Glen Railway (Isle of Man) on 29th July 2023.
Sea Lion was built by WG Bagnall Ltd (Stafford) and has pulled trains since the opening of the line in 1896. The line was built to transport visitors to the zoo that was built following the opening of the Manx Electric Railway.

It's magic to see Sea Lion working the train. Looks like you got a bit of Manx windy weather on the day as well.. Gura mie ayd.

It was during the anniversary celebrations last summer. On the Saturday it was just Sea Lion hauling the train, and on the Sunday they had all the locos out taking it in turns. I've got some footage from that which I'll have to put together.

Cute! I think the water heater in my apartment is larger than the boiler on that locomotive! Not made of steel, though.
