I still don't understand why you recommend avoiding skill speed. The reason for stacking skill speed is to fit five Bloodspillers in Delirium and five GCD's in Blood Weapon. That isn't just for the opener it's for your burst windows later on in your rotation as well to bump up your dps. You should be stacking SkS till you hit 2.38 GCD and then focusing on DH (for now). Tenacity isn't a bad stat when undergeared or when content is new, but you it's not completely necessary. It's much better in dungeons when the damage is coming out constantly rather than in spikes like in raids/trials and there is an argument to be made for stacking it over determination. I definitely wouldn't prioritize it over SkS though.

Good stuff. Suffer well, brother. A couple things that might help you. Swap Blood Weapon into your second off-global spot (TBN/Edge -> BW -> gcd). Else-wise you will only be able to fit 4 gcd's within the duration. You'll see it happen during your dummy and Titania examples, Blood Weapon falls off right before that 5th gcd both times but this can be avoided by delaying its cast during the gcd timer the same way that you would with Delirium or Inner Release. On Titania, put your potion into the spot of your first Plunge. Generally, openers should be a couple gcds early for this fight and you want to get as much of your damage in fully-buffed windows as you can. Be very careful about using Living Dead especially without a WHM. With poorly scaling heal magic potency and the loss of Convalescence, without using Benediction, its much more resource intensive for your healers to get you back up to full than it was pre-5.0. Executing this ability properly requires a much greater degree of scrutiny and stratagem than its counterparts on other tank jobs (healing buffs, raid mitigation, cooldowns held in reserve) and that should be emphasized. In any situation where LD can be avoided in favor of a tank-swap or another invuln., it should be.

this seems like a guide for people who have immense experience as a tank, i have no idea what is being discussed here. id prob have to study this video along with DRK actions/traits every night for a few weeks before i even had the slightest idea of what your doing. i guess this is a descent guide if you've already max leveled a DRK and have a ton of hours with the job. lol i find it so difficult to find any descent guide for jobs in this game, literally the only way to figure a job out it to level the class from start to finish and figure it out on your own, maybe these guide are more of suggestions on what rotations to use, not really a guide for what everything does and tanking.
Nonsense, SkS is only useful for blood weapon, because when you time it correctly, you can easily use the max amount of spillers in the Delirium window, even with base SkS. For BW it is a different story, but none to that makes a tremendous difference.
maybe the person meant strengh melds .....inner release from WAR grants 100% critical and direct hits during its duration so why should DH has no effect?🤔 (u should just avoid DH melds on WAR cause of IR grantig it so u benefit more from determination melds) on the other tanks you can go full DH if you cant get over at least 2,5k crit😉
iNuclearPickle I’m new, but people claim it’s the second busiest of the tanks, behind Gunbreaker. Do you not find that to be true? If it is true, and DRK is still boring, how bad are Warrior and Paladin?
Scott Souder I’m no expert and everyone differs on opinion but I just find the rotation boring when compared to past drk and I feel drk is more constricted to it’s 123 combo more often just trying to get mp for the abilities that cost 3000 mp with a few ogcds between. I started playing gunbreaker and I’m having a blast idk about the other tanks because before 5.0 I just played drk.
Yeah man just do your basic roation and click ogcds when available. Try to dps well but that ends in not having enough mp for blackest night to take the tank buster. Then you have gunbreaker where you get options on what you want to do. You got the basis 123 than you get option of spending a cartridge on 1 of 3 things and use your other skills when off cooldown. As many buttons as it is it's super entertaining
Def not a DRK for beginners... more like.. if you level boost.. this is how to play it. A beginner would be at lvl 30 and have none of the skills and abilities you based this guide off of. Only helpful part for beginners is the gear stats and the 10 sec mention of the 3-part opener.

@@Evilman_520 not to mention you only get 50 blood gauge when you have blood weapon going, not naturally
Why does a job guide need to have spoilers in it
It doesn't need to, but it has, I think they are not that dramatically, to make a warning with it 🤷♂️
this seems like a guide for people who have immense experience as a tank, i have no idea what is being discussed here. id prob have to study this video along with DRK actions/traits every night for a few weeks before i even had the slightest idea of what your doing. i guess this is a descent guide if you've already max leveled a DRK and have a ton of hours with the job. lol i find it so difficult to find any descent guide for jobs in this game, literally the only way to figure a job out it to level the class from start to finish and figure it out on your own, maybe these guide are more of suggestions on what rotations to use, not really a guide for what everything does and tanking.
Dark Arts still exists, its locked behind another abilities additional effects
Sks is bis, do some research b4 leading ppl astray. Just like warr mechs you are looking to need about 1.5k sks to get maximum delirium output.
Nonsense, SkS is only useful for blood weapon, because when you time it correctly, you can easily use the max amount of spillers in the Delirium window, even with base SkS. For BW it is a different story, but none to that makes a tremendous difference.
Video starts at 01:55 if you wanna skip the cringe stuff.
Criiiinge !
@@DesperiusFFXIV that said, the video was very helpful. Thanks
I was told that direct hit has no effect on tanks anymore and should be changed immediatly, is that true or was i told a lie?
maybe the person meant strengh melds
.....inner release from WAR grants 100% critical and direct hits during its duration so why should DH has no effect?🤔 (u should just avoid DH melds on WAR cause of IR grantig it so u benefit more from determination melds)
on the other tanks you can go full DH if you cant get over at least 2,5k crit😉
You were lied to.
Tanks can still do Direct Crit hits.
Plunge salted earth blood weapon curve spit animatation cansil edge of shadow delerium u kne the rest how is that
Honestly I feel drk is kinda boring. Mainly because the rotation doesn’t give enough to do. But that’s my opinion
iNuclearPickle I’m new, but people claim it’s the second busiest of the tanks, behind Gunbreaker.
Scott Souder it’s not busy at all
Yeah man just do your basic roation and click ogcds when available.
Anyone here have a good shirk macro?
