I unexpectedly ran into this car and was surprisingly shocked of how good looking it was: very low to the ground and very wide. It looks so much better in real life. The GTS version would be mandatory IMO. I honestly did not expect it's to be that nice. It's a modern Dino, the baby of the family....
I’m glad you don’t like the car, makes me feel good that I have one on order. If I had the same taste as yours or thought that you were in any way honest or objective, I’d be seriously ashamed and rethink my purchase.

Dont know what this guy is talking about. I thought this was the best looking Ferrari to come out in a long time since Pininfarina and many others think the same too. Probably a better car than the SF90 not just in terms of performance but also looks. The driving characteristics are great because of the rwd configuration.
I am glad to finally hear someone else call out the Ferrari 296 GTB is a hideous design. The Roma is another.
PJ I've always found your videos to be entertaining, and I get "it" that you love to trash Ferrari...but the "poor people" joke was in such bad taste that I'm shocked you said it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on cars/watchs/houses/food...you name it. I've got a 296 on order and I can't wait to get it. Your opinion won't alter how I feel about the car. But in that same vein, that everyone is entitled to their opinion, you referring to anyone as poor people was sad.

May i know your spec? I ordered one aswell but i'm still trying to choose between this very color (which is azzurro california or something like that i guess) and rosso fuoco. The red one would be with blu seats and everything else black (just like the sp Daytona) while this azzurro california would be paired with dark red interiors (bordeaux)

Great review PJ and fun roast. I've had 296 gtb for 2 weeks now. In my opinion the car looks great but with different colors. Mine is traditional rosso corsa (boring I know) but I enjoy the look. I enjoy the 165 hp electric only mode and all in qualifying+race mode the best.

That's exactly what i said to the Ferrari showroom Manager in Dubai when i went to collect my new F8 Spider, As an Architect/Designer, i can tell you from a design point of view, its The Worst!! It has a very tight Interior compared to the previous versions, The soulless complicated steering buttons, The useless Narrow roof opening in the GTS, The Silly corvette rear lights and the Camry front, I believe Camry is more aggressive! No Ferrari Lines, No Ferrari Character, No Identity! a very Shy/Weak Design! Regards, YAMAN
SF90 is THE UGLIEST FERRARI EVER. 296 sounds better, is faster(rolling race or half mile race), feels rawer and trashes it on track. The only Rarri with a Nurburgring record.

296 GTB pays homage to the 250 LM (which explains the weird design), so do you think that car is ugly as well? I am just curious, but I agree with your opinion on SF90 looking better than the 296 GTB.

@@hosoiarchives4858 When unparalleled history and heritage defines a brand, "old designs" is a hard thing to just let go but I get what you mean. Generally Ferrari reserve those old designs for limited edition cars, but not quite sure why they decided to give the 296 GTB that treatment. What I don't agree with this person is that looks are quite subjective and trying to go off of that will take you nowhere. This comment section alone shows the disagreement of which car people think is the better looking. Legends like Frank Stephenson who designed (F430, P1 etc.) rated this car and said it looks good.

@@ronnyleeway930it's like Lambo bringing back the Countach. Some people think the new one is ugly, some think it's even better than the OG. Looks are all subjective. I don't think talking about the reasoning behind the model changes the way it looks. If I got one of these I'd put aftermarket parts from someone like Novitec to make it more mean looking, because the front end looks paper thin from top to bottom. Performance-wise I'm sure it's still a great drive

I actually found this video because I searched "current Ferrari design sucks". I wanted to understand why. It's true, the front end looks like someone ran over and flattened a frog. The rear is funky but without round tail lights it's not a Ferrari. Without a V8 or larger is not a Ferrari (Enzo's words, not mine). A digital dash rather than exquisite analog gaugers = fail. No manual transmission option = just another poser mobile.

It's not ugly like a Roma but it could have looked better. The back is the worst part, where they completely did away with the classic rounded tail lights of the F8 and 812.
Roma is the best looking new Ferrari. IDK what you are on about. The Roma is the classic Ferrari shape, and is traditionally beautiful. Watch the hagerty video with Jason Cammisa on the Roma.

😱 Wow, admire your candid opinion. 👍👍😂 You know what, I have a theory. I think they purposefully make the cars a bit ugly. 2 reasons. (1) Like the BMWs current gen, I am not sure anybody truthfully like the new M2's look. But it creates more talking point and attention-grabbing by being controversial. Just marketing strategy 🤷♂ (2) They have to make the cars a bit ugly so they can make it pretty again in the next gen. Just good for business. After all. It is hard to keep making beautiful cars like arts on wheels. It is hard to find that beautiful curve/line. Why not take a dip, let it take a gentle hit then recover 🤷♂.

No its not the ugliest Ferrari. There are plenty others uglier. However, u are correct: looks nowhere near as nice as SF90. I had zero interest in test driving one because of looks and muted sound. Should have kept F8 going instead of replacing with this.
Ironically this car sounds miles better than the F8, which was extremely muted btw. And as a bonus this car can trap a whopping 150MPH in the 1/4 mile…….which is bus lengths beyond what an F8 can and even faster speed than an SF90 can attain in the same metric

I think Ferrari was trying to mix old school with new school and for me it doesn’t work. To me the 296 looks like someone tried to make their own Ferrari in their garage lol. I seen one driving in Paris it does look slightly better in person but the SF90 looks way better… in my opinion obviously.

I agree. It is the ugliest Ferrari of all time, however, it can be made better looking. Novitec did a good job of doing so. It needs 21/22 inch black rims, better side skirts, lowered, etc. It can look better, even elegant once it's altered. I plan to get one only because I can fix it.

Your comment that Ferrari has always been about style before performance is not correct. Ferrari has always been about racing, so performance is paramount. The only reason Enzo started to build road cars in the first place was to fund his racing.
