I have cleaned them with old fashioned stinky "oven clearer" the original, corrosive stuff, I wash it with solvent, diesel, even gasoline, then pour the oven cleaner in, plug the hole and shake it, depending on how dirty it is, 2-3 times, then rinse with hot water til clean, I've tried every snake oil, Seafoam included, hot, cold, nothing cuts the residues of blowby, oil gum like oven cleaner. Word of caution, don't leave it soaking for hours, it will etch the aluminum., I've boiled stuff in a big slow cooker with TSP, original nasty stuff, it's almost like the old outlawed hot tanks for effectiveness.
I cleaned mine once before and it worked until recently. When I cleaned mine I had only limited tools. I'm gonna soak mine in diesel while I'm home. Also mine is from an 08 Western star With Detroit 60 series 14L
I bought mine directly from Freightliner. But before you do that, there was someone who commented that he's had success using oven cleaner. I never thought of that, so it may be worth a try.
Great video sir!
Of course Freightliner will not make it reusable 😂😂😊
Excellent video I was wondering the same thing
Appreciate it... Guess I'll go ahead and pay the money 😩

Just changed one on a 2016. $400.00 but I got a $100.00 core charge back. So It was $300.00.
Well they do charge a core.
Not in my experience they haven't
Point me to where I can pay 400$ for one. Mine is purging oil
