ErisRising indeed he is. Perhaps in our-time Mulaney is Mark Twain ? or Noel Coward ? Oscar Wilde ? Phyllis Diller ? George Carlin? I mean, that was also a childhood fear of mine, quicksand; specifically I feared quicksand sinkholes spontaneously coming into existence right under my feet. Along with Michael Jackson showing up at school at kidnapping me, a tiger that didn’t give a f*ck about gravity or physics with Oprah Winfrey’s face (a weird nightmare from when I was like 3 that I never forgot because it freaked me out that bad?????), and the bomb plants from LOZOOT magically appearing in my room if the lights were off at night. I feel like many of my irrational childhood fears were oddly specific.
