    I feel like crafting should have been a mechanic outside of the perk tree. It should've been something any build can do without having to invest in Technical Ability because it feels like such an important aspect of the game, that it's weird that you can miss out on it depending on your build.

      Each aspect of the game feel important. Like Hacking is so important and if you have no intel it's dog shit, Cool is important cause it make or break character it's so important that it feel like I miss something if I don't have it. The only stats that feel like they are just for combat is Strength and Dex

      It would break immersion even more, as it does ATM. I don`t think that a gonk with 3 INT an 3 TECH should be able to craft high end gear on its own.
      The crafting system is underdeveloped. You can craft anytime, anywhere just opening your inventory, even during driving.
      I know this would be an unpopular opinion... crafting should be done at workbenches. With high TECH you should be do it on your own in the apartment using parts, or with low TECH at a gun-shop for money. It would be a reason to go home apart of the cat, the lizard and to read e-mails.
      Interestingly you can access your stash from any vehicle, but cant read your emails on the phone...

      Actually you can have it with most builds except Netrunner path. Most useful perks don't need actually to level up your abilities to 20. The only stats that you really need maxed for a good build are either Intelligence if you go the Netrunner route to craft legendary hacks or Technical Ability to craft legendary weapons. Pretty much all the rest you get the most imba stuff before 20. As to the cyberware though,, yeah it's tough when you can't equip it because you don't have high enough stats :/

  • @Gamer1what
    @Gamer1what 2 роки тому +1383

    Yeah, here’s a simple breakdown of how it actually works:
    When you upgrade a weapon you are increasing its level by 1 up to your current level with the max being 50.
    Most guns you find will match the level you were when you found them.
    When you increase the rarity, NOT UPGRADE, it will be leveled up to one below your current level. So if you find the satori at say level 10 then increase its rarity at 20 it will craft the epic version at level 19, saving you a lot of components on upgrading.
    HOWEVER, due to how cheaply components can be purchased for I recommend you upgrade your weapon as you play as it will keep the weapon from becoming obsolete.
    What I recommend is upgrading your weapon as you level, but increase the rarity at specific levels, say keep it rare until level 20 then make it legendary at level 30. You can also just upgrade it as soon as you unlock the required perk instead.
    Due to the way upgrading works there’s really no reason to wait. Components can be purchased very cheap (those components in shops aren’t 3k a piece, it’s 3k for a stack of 100 legendary components) and you can’t mess up the leveling as suggested in this video. This was an old bug that was displaying the wrong values.
    Hope this helped!

    What's actually happening, is secondary stats are randomised on craft.
    The first legendary craft had +100% bonus to Critical Damage, while the second had +100%(?) bonus to attack speed (caps at 5 per sec).
    The dps is simply base damage x attack per second, so obviously the one with bonus attack speed gives a much higher value.
    You could simply add an attack speed mod to the first one, and it will end up with near comparable "dps" (a single mod won't quite bring it to 5/sec)
    However in reality you probably won't be hitting anything 5 times per second anyway, so while you'll still get a hastened animation regardless, it's not the be-all end-all stat.
    Think you'll find upgrading the weapon prior does nothing, it's merely a roll of the dice.
    In fact, improving the quality is an excellent way to "level" an old relic weapon for free as it re-crafts it to your level.

    not sure how many people know about this, but in the crafting menu, for epic and legendary, if you keep clicking over the blueprint of any item in the category, you get to switch between high and low stats, not sure if this is a bug or something, but yea, for a sword, keep clicking on the blueprint until you get a higher stats, then hit craft, the stats will only fluctuate between 2 number, one which is high and the other which is low, the low will appear more often than the high. So this video really helps with that bug/technique to get the highest possible stats in the game for probably all the items craftable

    Not to make too harsh a statement, but the advice given in this video strike me as wrong. Recrafting weapons will reroll the secondary stats regardless of the level it happens at. This is not a bug, this is the game working as intended. Recrafting also creates the item at player level and resets the upgrade costs.
    Conclusions as follows:
    1) If you upgrade an item all the way to max level before recrafting, you get zero item levels for free and pay a massive premium for all the upgrades.
    2) Item level going into the recrafting does not affect what the rerolled secondary stats will be.
    3) Upgrading items will not reroll stats, it will just raise the item level, so upgrading after recrafting is fine.
    4) Always save before recrafting an item to ensure you get the stats you want.
    And a small detail, but if a little bit of attention is paid to the actual details on screen then it turns out that the "garbage" sword actually had the same damage as the "good" sword, it just didn't have a bonus to attack speed. This then begs the question, does the difference between 3 APS and 5 APS really matter, if everything dies in 1-2 hits anyway? That seems entirely too theoretical to justify the "slow" sword being flat out "garbage".
    Additionally, one should take care not to be distracted purely by a high number, in this case the DPS figure. The game calculates DPS as full weapon damage times attacks per second. Crits, head multipliers, stealth multipliers, accuracy... Those factors are not part of the DPS shown, but they are relevant factors during actual gameplay. I think this video perhaps fails to put DPS into perspective, instead just gazing at how high it can go, regardless of the utility value.

Ended up converting every iconic to legendary at level 50 and the values were a lot higher and didnt need much. Johnny’s clothes were the same armour value for me from epic to legendary, also capped at the same value for both rarities. I also noticed the values kept increasing if my crafting levek was higher, so i also waited until crafting level 20. Just kept crafting Dians (€2800+) or green Kenshins and sold them for money, while buying item components. Rare and epic were becoming very scarce.
    ONE THING TO NOTE is that no matter if i waited for a higher crafting level, the max value would still be the same, but would say that the one at the higher level had higher stats when i compared, armour seemed to match and look the same. The only difference in actuality was the one that was crafted at a higher crafting level sold for a few more eurodollars.
    PERSONALLY i would recommend getting to pacifica and getting an iconic rifle bp known as Moron Labe by doing a gig there. It can be crafted at epic and upgraded. But you wont miss much by making it early as you can craft another, unlike a lot of iconics
    But now i have 2 quests left as well as the final mission, so i cant test out these amazing weapons i created much. The Bloody Maria shotgun is so powerful and i love it but damn am i sad i wont be able to use it much. Need a NG+

    Spend any amount of time grinding crafting skill and you'll see as the skill goes up so does the damage.

    The video is incorrect, do not follow. It is all RNG. Notice that the first legendary Satori he crafted had 2.91 attacks per second, whereas the 2nd Satori had 5 attacks per second. This is because the 1st had a different substat which in this case could be 100% crit damage, and the 2nd was granted attack speed. Both crafted Satoris had the same base damage but yielded different DPS, due to the game calculating these values(crit dmg & atk speed) differently.
    @1:08 = 1st Satori had 205 to 251 dmg, with 2.91 atkspeed
    @3:36 = 2nd Satori had 205 to 251 dmg, with 5.00 atkspeed
    Thus, it is all crafting RNG and the presented DPS on the weapon does not accurately display the true DPS of it.

      If you reloaded the save point when your weapon is not upgraded and tried to upgrade it again, you may get different specs.
      This trick allows you to try upgrading over and over and over till you get the best specs you like.

      The dmg is the same ofc, but the attacks per second changes.
      And DPS means "Damage per second".
      Since they have different attacks per second, the DPS will change according to this equation:
      DPS = Attacks per second * dmg.
      The second one has a better DPS value because it has higher attacks per second.
      Generally speaking, it was a Ui/Ux display bug on early patches, which shows different values than the actual same value in both cases. You should get the same results in both cases, but how could anyone possibly know when it displays the wrong value?.

    Is making it a legendary instead of epic just to get an extra mod slot? Or is there more ?

    Does it work this way for all weapons or only the iconic?

    Is this in 1.6? if so they really need to change it because it's either a bug or a very bad design of the crafting system

    Did you notice the higher damage legendary had 100% less critical damage than the first one?

      Aye, levelling it up before hand did nothing. It's random, sometimes when you make it legendary it'll have more attack speed (and thus higher dps on paper) and other times higher crit damage etc.
