- Irish Hereford Prime Tomahawk Steak - free-range and grass-fed all year around - paired with the smooth smoke of a Laphroaig Scotch Whisky and the eagerness of birds singing in spring.
I used to eat my steaks blue rare all the time. Then a friend said that eating a steak medium rare was the best way. Tried it and I must say, they are right. I found that when I cooked a steak blue rare, the fat hadn't had a chance yet to cook thoroughly, so more often than not I wasn't eating the fat. Once I started cooking my steaks medium rare, the fat had a chance to cook properly and was way more enjoyable.
Vey insightful!
Not to mention that the meat you're eating, you dont know the health conditions of the animal, ppl just assume that all the steps, in the process were meet and theres no fall play in all the chain of meat business, which is a unrealistic expectation. Theres decease's that to kill the parasites you need higher temperatures than needed to cook the meat itself, even in the fat, if you cook less you're taking the risk, if u cook more it can be less impressive but safer. Theres ppl who eat bear meat which has a highly chance of worms which if u dont cook it fully you understand u will get that worms until u die with medication until u die as well.
When a steak has a beautiful marbling, I like to eat it medium rare, but for cheaper cuts I prefer blue rare.
Reverse sear 250 15-20 minutes cooks ribeye fat chunks so buttery and juicy with the meat, i used to hate beef fat until i learned how to cook it right and eat it with the meat slices together, shit now I’d eat it straight
Yeah so while you would think it’s purely subjective, objectively there should be a flavor sweet spot between rendered fat (higher temp) and juicy meat (lower temp). And I believe most competition Ribeyes are 131-133.
Anyways the guy in the video achieves an excellent crust and beautiful looking steak. And ate it for fucking breakfast! Also he sources a lot of interesting beef. This is is grass fed and not quite as fatty but therefore may be better to cook lower temp, I suppose.
Yes, breakfast. “I like to start my day with a hangover and meat sweats.”
Well, as far as you know.
That’s legit a $500+ bottle of scotch. You know, for breakfast.
@@andrewcooper9449 And he spilled a few drops! Only $50 soaking into the table! :-o
@@britinmadrid the aromas shine so brightly when you spill them and have the dog run around you to kick wind up
That's the way to cure a hang over not start one. I love them rare too but give the fat a chance to render some. Great Scotch, great video.
Holy shit, 27 year old Laphroaig!
and only $800 damnnnnnn
I was thinking the same thing. I've never heard of the 27 year old Laphroaig.
I don't care what anyone says, that steak is raw af.
He messed it up big time. Grey and deep red. Wasn’t room temperature and needs to be flipped more frequently
Yeah I would cook it for about 5 more minutes
Eh, most parts of the steak aren’t raw, but from what I saw some parts were definitely underdone, though some people like that.
ikr
Anyone else itching to see this guys whisky collection?
Cooking a steak on porch for breakfast...Now that is LIFE!
Seriously... That's the dream.
This is heaven
Also, a luxurious life!!!
I love your cooking videos. They’re always so relaxing, AND we get to see some steak lol
I think I can hear that steak still mooing
Grow up buddy
I guess you like yours a little less cooked than me, personally I don’t think my steak should be able to eat the chips before I do.
@@MeanMrMustard85 Yeah that's raw not rare
@@MeanMrMustard85 HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
HAHAHAHA!!
World's happiest dog right there!
Wooow, that’s still raw 😳
yummy
cooking it like this could be fine if you have a very lean cut like a filet but a ribeye is quite fatty so it's needs to be cooked at least medium rare. this is borderline blue rare.
Finally, you're back on cooking!!!
The ballerina must have dumped him.
Jokes aside.. I think this channel is about filming
I love all of your content, man. Keep up the amazing work!
I love watching you cook steak and making your dog happy! 🥩 🐶
Video quality in HDR is almost like seeing this wonderful steak 🥩 in person
Gorgeous vid. Thank you.
Hope you& yours are in good health.
A good Steak and whiskey ...... There doesn't have to be commentary. So peaceful to watch, mmmmmmm
Wow, I had almost given up hope, welcome back! And that is one sensational-looking ribeye, wow!
This garden is wonderful
blud lives better than 99% of us as he eats tomahawk steak for breakfast
eating uncooked meat like a wild beast 🙁
Very good
Pretty sure every piece of that steak went back on to the heat to finish cooking
I'm just curious, is that safe to eat? Just asking
The bacteria is on the top of the meat which was well cooked. As unusual as it looks, it's safe to eat. This only applies to beef though, never cook your chicken like this.
The reason your burger needs to be well cooked is the meat has been ground up so the bacteria is on more than just the surface of the beef.
Beautiful bottle of scotch, and always enjoy your videos of steaks.
Maybe someday I'll know what $750 scotch and tomahawk steak tastes like. For now, I'll just watch this on repeat.
Unless you really like the taste of peat smoke you would not enjoy that whisky. I personally hate Laphroaig.
@@brownhues I'm on the peat dark side. Huge fan of Laphroaig 10 and Lagavulin 16.
What's a smooth scotch you enjoy?
@@banjo-beard Macallan 18!
@@banjo-beard Also not a peat lover, Glenmorangie is my single malt of choice.
Look, i would be one of the people that normally say that's a little under... But I'd devour that.
What dreams are made of. Thank you
Even the pooch was like "too rare even for me" and headed back to the fire before realising it didn't have either hands or utensils.
Always great to see new content, thank you!
"Oooooooos a happy dog, then? Excellent breakfast and a happy pooch. You have class, Aden. And good taste in scotch to boot.
Cheers from E. Ontario.

Love the steak & scotch snob in you! 👍
What a sharp a knife!
Little rare for my taste. Fats not even rendered. Glad to see some new content though
OMG this is my channel! Thanks for sharing
a true breakfast of champions: rare fatty beef and a Laphroag. lucky dog.
Laphroaig and steak for breakfast - sir, you are a legend. Massive thanks to you from all of us with high blood pressure and dangerous cholesterol levels, you're enjoying this so we don't have to!😂😂 Btw, you're proper spoiling that pug. 😉
Indeed! And a 27yo as well! Suppose that's the way to go in the morning - smoother... The 10yo would put splinters in your vocal cords for the rest of the day! Good splinters! Me, my dog, a pipe of peat and my wooly sheep would match it perfectly! Brilliant to chase the mist away! 💖🏴 Islay for the win!
That dog is like FUCK YA!!!
FINALLY........Thanks Aden. Thats why i Subscribe here. Good Work.
Fav part when he gave the dog some!!!! Sharing is caring
Whiskey at breakfast?
The area sounds like a little piece of heaven
Excellent video
Some mushrooms would be really perfect with that
And man that happy pug makes it even more satisfying
The steak is nice, don’t get me wrong, but the star of the show is the 27yo Laphroaig
The star of the show is the pug.
Oh good lord....that is one of the most beautiful steaks I’ve seen!!! Truly a work of art!!!
That's a breakfast of champions.

U know what? I always watching again all video this channel
I love your dog! Also, what were those screams starting at 6:10 lol.
Sounds like a rooster
I love how you do your films , that tomahawk steak look so good. But I have a question, what kind of knives do you use to cut meat
Fuckin sharp ones!!! The way that knife sliced that meat was surreal!!!!!
Super high end Japanese professional Chef knives.. They better slice through that steak like butter.
I've got a $20 wal mart knife that does the same. It's all about the whetstone skills
Dear Aden, in your opinion, which is the best restaurant to visit while in Japan? Restaurant name and city please. Thank you.
The Taco Bell in Tokyo.

@@magaprez5321 😂
There is this place in Tokyo that has a set menu of 7 items. I'll get to you with the name. Food was out of this world, reservations was made a few weeks before we actually went to Japan. You also get a bottle of scotch from their distillery, it is part of the experience, you can take it with you if you don't finish it. So it is best if you bring company. The menu varies, but it is a culinary orgasm. It was a business trip so I did not pay. He host paid with an Amex black card. Based on the food and service, and the bottle of 18 year old scotch, I believe the place had 2 Michelin stars. Plus you had to have at least a jacket, button down shirt, and tie. It was 5 of us, so as we wee leaving, of course we thanked our host, I asked, this must of cost an arm and a leg. He responded, no, more like a heart transplant.
Just great 👍
opens with a bag of cheese puffs and the $1K a bottle Scotch - as always - a wonderful video for we beef lovers -
I love your cocking videos, but steak is really raw.
