Wood Turning - The Ruby and Emerald Bowl

In this video, I turn a beautifully smooth and fantastically figured bowl from Manzanita burl and epoxy resin. This was the second from a set of three burls I got from someone on eBay.
I used a traditional bowl gouge to rough shape the manzanita burl till it would fit in a bowl, then cast it in Promise Epoxy Deep Pour epoxy resin.
After shaping the outside of the bowl, I used my Bowl Saver tool to hollow out the bowl and save the inside which I’ll turn into another, matching bowl later.

Manzanita burl is so pretty! I've seen several makers use it and it never disappoints. Great color combination between the burl and the resin. I love it.

Love the color of Manzanita, and I especially like the satin (not glossy) finish that highlights the natural beauty of the wood. (Tung oil? Wax?)
