That's it!!! All identity of wood... all beauty, all damage... like the real life!!! I love all woods nobody want to get in his workshop... this burls and knobs... rotten and cracked... that's personality... Can't understand why everything has to be glossy and shiny... just want to see the bad and ugly in all beauty!!! Thanks for sharing... it's a masterpiece!!! Chapeau 🎩 👍👍 🇩🇪 🔨
Super cool taking advantage of the natural shape of the wood. I really like it a lot. I keep watching for your next triumph! Keep up the amazingly good work!
Those figured “heal overs” can be quite a challenge. One never knows in advance how the dead branch inside will influence the final result. Good job bringing out a successful finished project.
If you had asked what type of wood this was, I could have given a hundred guesses and still not got it right. Even after it's done, I still am thinking it's Elm. Very cool. Usually, these don't get to stay together till the end. Good job.
I’m pretty sure it’s walnut. I’ve never worked with elm that had that kind of grain. Also the elm I’ve worked with has a pretty open grain and this grain is tight.
@CASWoodcraft oh I believe you. I'm seeing it through a camera. I'm just trying to convey the amazement of how unique every piece of wood can be. I've made some really cool stuff from black cherry burls formed around a cut limb cap. Never know what's going to be these things.
That is the prettiest bowl I have ever seen.

Wonderful. Where was the hidden gem? Or is that the beauty of it as it’s stunning.
You sure are an artist and master craftsman! Beautiful piece!

This is a very beautiful bowl. 👍 Do you sell your work?
Yes I do. That piece isn’t up yet, but you can find some of my other pieces at www.etsy.com/shop/caswoodcraft
Is the gouge bevel below center when you start roughing?
Usually. In this case it was right at about center level and I angled it down just a touch to bring the tip below the center level
@@CASWoodcraft great, thank you.
I'm a staunch "my shop, my rules" kind of guy, but I have to ask. Were those drywall screws?
Yep. All I had that was long enough.
@@CASWoodcraft if it works, it works.🤣
I wonder if morta wood could be turned?
Never heard of it. I’ll take a look!

Very cool but not very practical for use because of the bottom having a big hole in it so you should’ve filled it in but otherwise great job!
All the cracks and hold leave it unfinished.
