- There is no denying 3D print models are here to stay. The exciting part is they keep getting better. F&M models HO Scale Peterbilt is a fine example of what is coming in 2024.

I’m driving a 2021 W9 . It amazes me how many truckers collect trains. Boomer you bring all of us together. You are an inspiration to everyone.
Awesome! Nice sounding truck I bet as well. ;-)
Old truckers never die, they just get a new Peterbilt.
I love that era as well.
I started 3d printing several years ago with filament printers. There capabilities are impressive but limited in fidelity and detail. For structural type projects they’re outstanding. Then I dove into 3d resin printing about 6 months ago.
OMG 😱. The possibilities in the modeling hobby world are endless. Unbelievable detail and resolution. Once your comfortable designing and drawing in CAD the sky’s the limit.
I hear they are incredible.
@@boomerdiorama I thoroughly enjoy scratch building but never too old to learn new tricks. I’m about your age and always eager to jump in on anything 😃😃
I drove an 87 359 all across the country for years. My uncle and i took it apart down to the frame and repainted it. The main body was pearl white and the fenders and caps were a metallic sherwood green. Can't beat the old none computerized trucks. It had a Cummins big cam 400 and a 13 spd. Cool model gonna have to find one.
Your truck sounds awesome!
Kind of like someone else said (but I model the 70s/80s), finding everyday vehicles is difficult… luckily the “Fresh Cherries” line helped me a lot there. Semis, I still struggle with. Brekina makes some nice models, they tend to be fancier than the “working class-day cab” trucks that I saw running around. So, I’ll be looking for these F&M logging trucks too. I managed to get some Athearn KW kits a swap meet a few years ago, and recently I purchased some upgrade kits at the train show in Monroe, WA. These are made to turn those Athearn kits into a logging truck. That’s cool, but you need the Athearn kit to start with and that’s been out of production a long time. I just went digging for the kit I got, but the guy did not put a business name on the bag.😮
Hey, I was an owner operator for 25 years. Flatbed, stepdeck, double drop, and detach. High, wide, long and heavy. Had to give it up when my disability got the better of me and I couldn't pass the physica.
I just passed my physical to keep my class one with air brakes. I have not used it much lately though. Too expensive to give up these days. I think it costs twenty thousand now to get a class one - ouch!
I couldn't see keeping it since I was never going to drive again. I'm 100% disabled veteran of O.I.F.
@@gandydancersenginehouse Thank you for serving! It's appreciated.
Sounds like a great item! A problem with modeling some eras (like my 1969 scenario) is getting "ordinary" cars and other vehicles. All the mass-market guys make 1960s cars, but they are all Corvettes and Camaros, etc. Good "everyday" vehicles can be hard to get. 3D printing can be great, but some are just a waste of money. This truck looks like a superb model.
Yeah. I hope they make more obscure vehicles.
What a gorgeous kit! I hope you film when you put it together for us to see. :)
I hope so too!
Boomer. Super crisp 3D printing. It looks like the 3D super detailed parts you can get for Tamiya kits now. Very nice. That will keep you busy for a little while. Cheers, Chris Perry.
Thanks 👍
Man I do love me some trucks! I just started singing Convoy! It would be great to see him make a mid to late 80’s Kenworth K100 cab over. I hope you make a video of the build. I always struggled simulating chrome. I could use the education.
I think he is doing a Kenworth cab-over.
Collector trucks like shiny (out of scale) chrome. Sort of like a shiny lure to catch a fisherman - not a fish. ;-)
I don't see chrome as being a factor when you stand 87 feet away from a truck (which is HO scale). Too shiny for HO scale for me. The same goes for black & white paint. You never see black or white in the real world so why in the model world?
Real world chrome looks out of place in larger scales as well, in my opinion. Vallejo makes a great silver/aluminum for small models. ;-)
@@boomerdiorama I was going to say I expect you to build/carve a rubber duck hood ornament...
I'm currently getting a website built as I build HO custom trucks have been for 40 years. I started doing it as there just wasn't anything out on the market detailed enough or a variety of makes and models available. I'm building a lot of 3-D trucks that are extremely super detailed. I figure another month and I will post on my channel the announcement. By the way your attention to details and modelling skills are absolutely tops in my book. I've gotten some great ideas watching your videos.
O.K. Joseph. Sounds awesome and thanks for sharing your passion! Cheers ~ Boomer.
Impeccable workmanship.
It's a very nice model. Not sure when I can build it though. Super busy with the layout.
Thanks for your video. I am reminded of thoughts to modeling what isn’t seen. I agree that there is a satisfaction to the detail behind the scenes as you say “integrity” of a model. Great review
Well said!
Very nice indeed! I am seeing more and more excellent 3D printing work. If you are impressed with this kit, I know it has to be awesome! Bill B.
Thank you very much!
Brilliant kit. When I find a quality 3D supplier they've got a customer for life. I know my limitations - I couldn't produce them, but I'm happy to pay someone who can. Cheers
It should make for a nice addition on RIver Road.
Hi Boomer, that is one very serious model of a Peterbilt , the best one I've seen in a long time very nice .
Your timing is spot on as usual, I just finished today my 1/25 scale Peterbilt yours has the same size sleeper as mine . I got a little carried away with mine and made a new Texas bar with larger diameter exhausts and also made them taller even taught myself how to make up exhaust brackets also made a new sun visor. amazing what you can do with a bit of evergreen plastic and brass wire
If been watching to many UA-cam truck videos laterly , congratulations on the purchase can't wait to see it completed.
I love those old AMT truck kits. Like you say they make awesome projects for scratching in details. I will probably revisit my Kenworth this summer as well. I poke away at it as a long term interim build.
Boomer, amazing details in that model, pity the whole Pacific Ocena is between us.
We have a shop in Australia that is starting into 3D Printed Trucks, he has a number of PTC (The NSW Government Railways go through regular name and colour changes), and we had a blue period for the Public Transport Commission, and there are track crew repair trucks which have amazing details, and are easy to put together with all the details, he is about to release a Rural Fire Brigage tanker truck, and the early photos have amazing details, and all supplied with appropriate decals.
3D Printing is coming along very fast, and when modelers start doing the design, wow.
Thank you for sharing, and cheers, and stay safe, Michael
O.K. Thanks for sharing. Cheers ~ Boomer.👍
Exquisite. It's going to be great watching you get this one layout ready
Hopefully I can squeeze it into the schedule.
Thanks for bringing him to our attention
Sure thing!
One of the nicest things about 3D prints is that you can scale them arbitrarily once you have the model file built. (There are some issues with detail abstraction as you scale; you don't necessarily want the same level of fiddly detail in HO as in O.)
Which means that if you want that model in, say, S scale (that nearly nobody supports), there's no particular reason that you couldn't have it. Just print at 87.1/64 or 136% of the HO scale print and you're done.
Same thing with using wargame models for model railroading or vice versa. A deuce-and-a-half is useful for nearly any WWII or later military scene or any contemporaneous railroad scene, for instance. Just print to match the scale of your other stuff.
It's a burgeoning part of the hobby for sure.
Wow , Trucks , Trucks and more trucks , you can never have to many beautiful trucks on your layout the attention to detail seems outstanding " also coming from a truck driving background these are beautifully done... cheers Boomer and Dusty thank you for sharing.
Thanks 👍
I could see by the thumb nail that frame was really nice. Then the separate cab parts with that detailing...i can't wait to see it together then painted and weathered. He needs to offer in N scale. We need better trucks in that scale.
He does have the same truck in N Scale. In fact they have one in stock at Intercity Trains & Hobbies.
Can't wait to see this build. So many great applications for 3D printing. This does look well done. Cheers!
Thanks!
This fella's a perfectionist, cheers. Have a awesome time building that.
Thanks, will do!
Mr Boomer, always the Cool stuff I love it! I had to dig in my junk, remember Dennis Aust this Guy sold 1/87th scale nice stuff back in the day, he was in the mold making like 3d making that he sold I have tires and rims I purchased back in 2011 in the pkg new. Also have from another vendor an R Model Mack Dump kit 1/87th scale that also looks like mold /3 d made back in 2011, don't think this company is in business either. But wow, like your kit these are beauties. I should have purchased more back in the day! I have yet to use the tires and rims nor have I built the R Model Mack. Your the best!
I need to find time to build it. Really swamped with the layout. Hopefully I can squeeze it in sometime soon.
Yes indeed!
Beauty, eh?
I drove a Freightliner, she was older but a great driver.
I can't wait for the build video, i know you'll do it justice.
I drove some old Internationals that were awesome as well. Even ones with the split differentials, etc.
Great looking model. I used to build truck models back in the day. I guess I don't have to ask you 'how's your Peter Built'. I look forward to seeing the paint scheme you give it.
Cool, thanks!
Beautiful kit! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
@@boomerdiorama I called Intercity Trains and Hobby and as soon as I said F&M he said, “Peterbilt?” I said, well no, but Boomer did tell me about the Switch stands a couple of weeks ago. I ordered 10 of the Switch stands! I suspect this video may have depleted their supply of Peterbilt tractors! 😂
I also asked about the class you’re giving to see if they were going to stream live on UA-cam. He said, “No.” but maybe you can twist their arm? 😉
Who will film it? If it isn't done professionally it will look like a cheesy live stream.@@jcjackson726
@@boomerdiorama good point! Have fun, wish I could join you.
What an amazing print!
I think so!
@@boomerdiorama If he creates a 1950's logging truck I will probably get 3.
I'll let you know.@@dan8402
"....even the Cummins mill is there, though you'll never see it." I disagree....having the hood popped open with a driver doing the pre-trip inspection would be an AWESOME way to display this tractor!
👍😁
Impressive.....nice detail on the dayton spokes.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts! Cheers ~ Boomer 👍
Beautiful kit. Gonna need you to climb under and check the stroke on the brake pistons when you get it built though. Hope they make it for O scale. I have a log truck conversion kit that I need a truck for
Probably lot's coming eventually.
Howdy Boomer - Can't wait to see what you do with it! Looks pretty awesome. Thanks for sharing 🤠
Thanks 👍
Nice model...this is not a model supplier I have seen before. Thanks for the look in.
Sure thing.
Hi Boomer, can't find F&M models on the web... am I missing something. Cheers
Like I said in the Video . . . call Intercity Trains & Hobbies.

Some of those old Athearn kits are great. I just recently found a few old "Sedan" and "Station Wagon" kits that I really like as well. Cheers ~ Boomer.
Awesome…looks like a qood quality 3d primts
It is!
Thanks for the info. It's really hard to find good HO vehicle kits.
Yes it is. Showcase Miniatures makes some nice HO Scale multi-media kits if you were unaware. ;-)
You forgot the Jake break in your sound effects😊
UA-cam left it out. ;-)
iam looking for trucks like this. peterbilt with long nose. this one looks great!
They restocked at Intercity Trains & Hobbies. You can order one if they are sold out. They are local so the order fills fast.
@@boomerdiorama got the last one! its not cheap to ship it to switzerland, but ey its for the hobby and supporting great creators!
Wow, that’s amazing. Thx.
Glad you like it!
How about building it with the hood flipped (being serviced or repaired) so you can see that beautiful engine ?
That means I have to carve down the hood edges as well, etc. ;-(
Not a bad attempt lads... I modelled an Albion Duo (1952) a lorry Made in Scotland in 4mm about 18 months ago and I have to say “you still have a little catching up to do.” Credit where credit is due, F&M have done a fantastic job of delivering a really nice kit with incredibly clean panels (no swirls on this one). That is not an easy thing to deliver. From one manufacturer to another, really nice work.
I think it's great work. Cheers.
You should send him one of your manufactured kits. I would love to see how it stacks up against this. 🙂
@@seanobrien7169 I will make the offer of a couple of goodies after our move to the new office. Sadly the only US stuff we have are some 1930 line crew and a 19 ton Shay Oil Burner Conversion for the Bachmann ON30 Chassis. Were aiming to setup production facilities in Europe then the US to produce local product once were established in Britain.
Ice looking truck my husband drove truck for 39 years we know Bruno cerri owner of trucks and stuff and Tonkin trucks we have known his family since 1986 my husband drove for Bruno for years custom 389 with curtains vans for his feed store say hi to DUSTY for us . My husband took your advice to finish one this then moved to next he finished his SP Rotary snow plows 10 years on and off finished them Sunday thanks
Thanks for sharing! Dusty was down for the count (sick) last week, but thank God she fully recovered. ;-)
WOW‼️
Cool truck eh . . . ;-)
Is there any chance there will be a build video on this?
I'm sure there will be but when is the question. I am booked solid for months of content. Everything must take a number with the odd exception. Eventually there should be. ;-)
Looking forward to seeing that.
I think I'll print one.
Awesome! Maybe do a log bunk as well. ;-)
hey Boomer thats a great model about how much was this ....Bill
Sorry. No idea. He just sent it to me and I was so excited when I got it. You can call Intercity Trains & Hobbies to find out though.
What will you do for glass?
Easy. Evergreen Plastic has clear (0.5") styrene sheet. Peterbilt and Kenworth Truck are flat panes of glass. Install with canopy glue and all is well.
I’m in Australia, where can I buy these trucks from please?
Intercity Trains & Hobbies. You need to phone or E-mail through their webpage.
Do they have a website?
No. But he has a sales "Kiosk" at Intercity Trains & Hobbies.
Oh, well I can’t spell brake😢
Break . . . lol.
Does he have a web site? I tried to find F&M models but nothing came up?
No. But he has a sales "Kiosk" at Intercity Trains & Hobbies.
I'm out east, so if would be hard to get his products. The intercity web site features a car snowplow kit.
Like I said, pick up the phone and call them. Ask for one.@@Cee_Eff
Can I get away with using solvent cement (Plastruct) on these kits? I'm so used to the ease of Evergreen and solvent glue maybe it would work with these?
No. You need to use (CA) - Super Glue for resin kits. Resin is a mechanical bond - not a chemical bond.
@@boomerdiorama thank you sir
Would you have a Email address for F&M models I can't seem to find anyplace to buy them?
Call InterCity Trains & Hobbies. They have a webpage as well. I heard he just printed up some more.
Does F&M have a website?
I don't think so. He sells through Intercity Trains & Hobbies. I would phone them.
Thank you.@@boomerdiorama
Hi Boomer , can you please send me contact adress for ordering this nice peterbilt kit. Thanks in advance. Bernhard
Like I said in the video, you have to call Intercity Trains & Hobbies. Cheers ~ Boomer.
Thank you for the info, Boomer. Just wanted to say that I regularly watch your videos and enjoy them very much. They are very inspiring and informative. Keep up the good work.
50 years ago I built the AMT 1/25 scale version of that truck. I want one of those for my colection.
Call Intercity Trains & Hobbies and order one. ;-)
Something tells me this guy is gonna need to buy some more printers. Will solvent work on this plastic?
He has a few printers. He does it for fun, but clearly he is very talented. You use CA for resin. It's the one necessary evil with resin. I'm still very impressed with the kit though.
The main problem for me is that F&M Models doesn't seem to advertise their products online. IC Hobbies only shows two HO scale items they offer. It would help F&M sales if there was a means to order items that are 3D printed from a list of available items. Yes, the truck model looks great.
Just phone them and ask. it will compel them to fix it.
Wow! Just Wow! I gotta have one. Or, maybe two! You have to talk to him about a Western Star. They used to be made there in Kelowna. I've up there delivering frame rails and engines and cabs and stuff many, many times. There is, or was, one heck of a nice little diner real close to their plant. Miss going there.
That would be cool! He did mention other truck subjects as well. ;-)
When do we see it, the build, the paint, on River Rd 🤣🤣🤣???
Like everything else when it's time. ;-)
@@boomerdiorama 😂😂
Have a great build.
When the number comes up!
Model Railroad Hobbyist magazine had an thread on their Forums site about the CPR Snowplow model - it was March 16, 2022. Looks awesome too!
Yes. He did the CPR Snow Plow as well.
One could display it with the hood open as if the drivers was checking over the engine..🤔👍
These trucks are beautiful prints. The designer knows what he is doing.
Thanks for sharing. Will they ship to the United States?
Intercity Trains & Hobbies does ship there. You have to call them. They also have this truck in N Scale!
On their website you can choose your currency, and they offer it in US Dollars. I have to admit I haven't ordered anything yet, but betting yeah, they ship to the US.
Thanks Boomer!
Yes. They ship to U.S.A.@@thomream1888
