In this chatty video I review my favorite films of all time, including some 90’s classics, futuristic dystopias, dark comedies, way too many rom coms, and of course some allegories for modern-day capitalism. @Fekete Luca I don't think that would be wise. She should either be positive by propping the movies she loves as she's done here, or at worst be neutral towards, say, some of the blockbusters. She's trying to get her foot in the door; perhaps a spike in viewing of these favorites of hers might benefit her directly or indirectly, but stating things in the negative wouldn't have any benefit for her; it'd only be negative.
@@robjohnston366 I agree with your point, and I do understand if she decides to abstain from voicing her criticism. When i wrote that comment I just thought it'd be interesting to see what a film student perceives as "bad" and why, which i still do. But I don't expect it to happen exactly bc of the reasons you brought up.
@@feketeluca906 I hope I didn't sound too harsh. But I would imagine one of the best ways to really learn the art of filmmaking would be from someone who's legitimately known to make schlocky movies and isn't offended by being described as such. But I would think most filmmakers think their art is beyond reproach; i.e., they have quite an ego. Btw, I wasn't the one who gave my comment a thumbs up.
I actually prefer watching Ashley just sitting and talking about movies for 25 minutes (to find a good one) over watching those "top 10 movies" videos

that movie deserved it soooo much tho, it was funny, had some horror mixed into it, was a critique of capitalism and soo much more, and it's one of these films that leave you with a "head full of questions" after you finish watching it as Ashley said so well. It definitely deserved the oscars it got
I just watched Parasite two days ago, and it was phenomenal. It was unsettling and messed up for sure, but it was just written and done so well

Snowpiercer is a criminally underrated film. Bong Joon Ho's directing, as well fantastic acting by the cast. Also it turns out Harvey Weinstein cut 20 mins of the film for American distribution 👀 I've got to watch the uncut version.

ENCHANTED - A princess falls into a well and ends up in new york, where she must face harsh reality. It's dumb but I love it.
THE TRUMAN SHOW - Jim Carrey's whole life is a TV show, and he doesn't know it. It was the movie that made me love film. My #1 favorite.
SPIRITED AWAY - beautiful animated film about a girl working to save her parents, who have been turned into pigs
WHEN HARRY MET SALLY - Romcom cute meet about when harry met sally.
