You are welcome and thank you. The neck width towards the front is slightly narrower than at the back hence the adjustment of 1/4 inch done. As the shoulder seam line is made same at back, and front, this will align when sewing. Hope this helps.
I just found your channel and this is exactly what I was looking for. I am wanting to make my own patterns. I can not wait. I was wondering, how would you do a front without buttons. Just a pull over. Be Blessed and thank you for sharing your talent. Also how do you figure your seam allowances?
Thank you so much for your appreciation! To do a front without button omit the provision for button and you would cut it on fold then. I usually use 3/8 inch -1/2 inch on the sides and 3/4 inch to 1-1/2 inches at the hem depending on the design I am making.
You would need ease of 5 to 8 inches for a loose fitting shirt dress. Whatever amount you want, divide it by 4 and that’s what you add to the side seams. For example if you want 5inches then 5/4 = 1.25 will be added to the front block and to the back block side seams. Hope this helps.
Thank you for watching. I prefer working in inches hence I have illustrated using inches. However the drafting method I have demonstrated in this video, uses more of calculations from your personal body proportion. Hence it is easy to adapt it to cm, which is your preferred unit. Just to further help, I will give you close equivalents of some of the fractions I used in inches to cm: 3/4 inch - 2cm 5/8 inch - 1.6cm 3/8 inch - 1cm 1/4 inch - 0.6cm Hope this helps.

What types of paper can be used to make these bodice blocks?
@@lindawitherspoon9846 you can use any paper with enough width really; regular pattern paper or wrapping paper from Poundland or The Wok, is what use.
Thanks ma. best bodice drafting video. Please since the front neck width is different from the back with 1/4 inches how will it align when sewing

👋, thanks from ankara. I just didn't understand the difference between front and back, front must be longer
You are welcome. Yes, because front is usually longer than the back on the female body due to the bust. Hope this helps.
So easy to follow, thank you.

I would love to use the pattern to cut a loose fitting shirt dress but I'm not sure about the ease help

Would you recommend I add the same amount of ease to my sleeve pattern's side seams
