My God!!! This is so explicit.. Thank you so much for this. Am in my 50s and I have spent so much money in getting to learn pattern drafting, I keep getting disappointed. God bless you dear ❤
Thank you so so so much 💕,the simplicity, the calmness, the Ability to teach perfectly..For the first time I was able to draft a perfect basic bodice 🎉🎉🎉wish I could show youuu..I am over Joy...God bless u
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I finally bought a sewing machine so that I can sew clothes that actually fit me. I've been frustrated in learning to sew as nothing fits. This bodice block and your tutorial have helped me with an understanding of how to make my own block and use it as a base for adjustments to patterns. THANK YOU!
You are a very good teacher may God richly bless you may your Labour yield fruits a hundred fold maa thank you for not being selfish with information ❤
Thank you so much for this tutorial using our own measurements. I have a question. I have fat arms, and I struggle with clothes fitting fine on my torso but tight on my arms. In that case, would I have to make the arm holes of my bodice bigger to accommodate a wider sleeve?
Try using your half of your shoulder width or the formula in this video to construct your armhole, see how it fits and you can then adjust your subsequent patterns.
Do you mean 8.5? I used the shoulder width as an estimation, so 7.5, but remember the 1" shoulder drop, that makes it 8.5. I hope this is clear enough.
Thank you so much for the lovely detailed tutorial. I loved it. But if you do not want a very fitted bodice for a slightly loose dress, how much ease would you leave? Also do you add the ease in your body measurements or add it later?
There may be an error in measurement or estimation of the chest line as the bust naturally peaks below the chestline, you may want to measure the chestline manually rather than using the calculated estimate.
I have 2 questions. How do you know by how much to slant the shoulder to get a good fit? Some people go 1 inch, half an inch etc. Same question for creating arm curve, I've seen some go in by 1/4 inch, 3/4 inches to the back. Thanks. Very easy and clear tutorial watching from Trinidad and 🇹🇹
Well, it depends on the body structure of an average person in a geographical location, even within an area, it can still vary, but not enough to cause a fitting issue. If you want to be exactly accurate, your best bet is to create a toile, then alter the pattern for that individual if you experience any fitting issues.
This patterns front and back side seams are un matching. Because, front part side seam dart length not add this front side length. Am I correct or wrong??
Well done ma, Thank you so much for the tutorial but I have 2 questions. 1. the formula I use to get the chest line is BURST DIVIDED BY 6 PLUS 1.5; and i place it from the slope not from the margin/start line. Is this wrong? 2. how do i manipulate the lenght of a dress or blouse that has a cut at the waist (half lenght), since the front half lenght is more than the back. What do I do to the remaining part of the dress or blouse?
It's not common to have a longer back half-length measurement for adult female because of the bust, I will recommend you watch videos on body measurement to be sure. But, if you're certain this is the case for you, then, your pattern has to be creatively adjusted to suit your body, try creating a side dart on the back pattern to take in the excess, you also won't need a bust(side) dart on the front pattern. Let me know if this helps.
By using dart manipulation. I don't have a tutorial on that here. But you type it out on the search bar, I'm sure a couple of nice tutorials on dart manipulation would pop up.
Bust point is the measurement you take from your shoulder to your nipple, while bust span is your bust circumference( also called your round bust measurement)
Please, watch the video on how to take accurate body measurement on my channel, The width of the bust dart is the difference between the half lengths of the front and back.
My God!!! This is so explicit.. Thank you so much for this. Am in my 50s and I have spent so much money in getting to learn pattern drafting, I keep getting disappointed. God bless you dear ❤

I'm glad it was helpful!
Interesting and informative video. One question, do i need to add ease on top of the bodice measurement?
It depends on what you're creating, if you are going for something fitted, there will be no need.
Thanks for the video. Do we not need ease for bust ?
Not at all
U are really amazing. bless u
Thank you 🙏.

Thank you for this demonstration.l am drafting this now😊
Have fun!
Thank you ma😊 very good video but the chest line how did you get 8.9
Do you mean 8.5? I used the shoulder width as an estimation, so 7.5, but remember the 1" shoulder drop, that makes it 8.5. I hope this is clear enough.
@@Kemafrik yes ma thank you so much I understand now ❤️
Thanks again man🖐️I really appreciate,I want to be a faction disiner but how can i
Excellent tutorial
Thank you.
Hello Kemafrik
What are your thoughts on the Natalie Bray method? This method seems very straightforward.
I think it's awesome, this is simpler and it serves just the same.
Thank you so much for the lovely detailed tutorial. I loved it.
But if you do not want a very fitted bodice for a slightly loose dress, how much ease would you leave? Also do you add the ease in your body measurements or add it later?
You're welcome. You can add 1" ease on the pattern or desired.
Thank you! Wonderful pattern
You're welcome.
Thank you for a very clear explanation. I love your videos. I learned a lot from it. Keep posting thank you so much. I love you channel ❤
You are so welcome!
Thank you very much, thanks for the clarity.
You are welcome!
So when the chest line becomes the same or longer than the burst point. What do you do?
There may be an error in measurement or estimation of the chest line as the bust naturally peaks below the chestline, you may want to measure the chestline manually rather than using the calculated estimate.
Pls for a bust of 33”, will I still use a shoulder slope of 1.5” and an under bursts dart of 2”?
Yes, but feel free to adjust accordingly if you don't like the fit.
Thank you so much for your trainings
You are so welcome!

What if there is a difference of 4 inch between the front and back dart?
Yes, that can happen for a busty plus size. Once you're sure of your body measurement, your good to go.
This patterns front and back side seams are un matching. Because, front part side seam dart length not add this front side length. Am I correct or wrong??
Yes, you are, I explained further towards the end of the video.
So beautiful ma'am. But please how do we go.about it if the difference between the front and back half length is up to 6 inches?
I explained at the end of the video.
Very good❤
Thank you.
What is the purpose Of that 3 lines in the middle ,?please 🙏
Please, watch the tutorial.
easy to learn thank you🧡
I'm glad to know that.

By using dart manipulation.
I don't have a tutorial on that here.
But you type it out on the search bar, I'm sure a couple of nice tutorials on dart manipulation would pop up.
