Not sure if I’ll get this but good to see what’s it’s all about. Love your Lock and Load videos as well as SGS series. Would love to see you do some WargameDesign studio games
I'm really looking forward to the character development aspects of the campaign, too. I think it'll be fun to see the narrative arc of your leader's career in the war.
Yes, I really like what they are aiming for with this game. The balance between top down command pressure and bottom up "We don't want to die" pressure is such a great mechanic to build into a system.
It was hard to see the hill the Germans were on by Dearborn--you just had to be reading the 'From Above' message which is why you were getting hit so hard. Wonder if there is a map option to 'hide trees' and/or just show elevations?
That's great feedback and I tend to agree with the "visual feedback could be improved" aspect of it in general. Sometimes it's hard to get a sense for what's happened in a fire exchange, and I did find altitude changes a bit tricky to identify. I think as one plays more that might start to become easier to identify, but in the woods I did find it especially tricky, as you mention.
Your main character is tied to the battles and history of his unit, so given that customization it makes sense to focus on one nationality first. Be nice to have more options/DLCs in the future, for sure.
Indie game development can have so many back stories that I think it's hard to conclude this. This is scheduled for release in Q1 2025 and there has been a lot of action around it over the past six months.
Hi Dan! I’m one of the playtesting leads for Burden of Command. I know 6+ years is a lot of time and I’m sure Luke (project lead) would agree with you on that! :) The final game will feature a custom built game engine, 1500 colorized photos, two novels worth of narrative, and roughly a 70 hour long campaign. As a playtesting lead, we’re actively sending wave after wave of playtesters at Luke and the team and while the battle has been long the objective is in sight. But as a humble indie, thank you for your patience. The game releases Q1 2025 and the demo will be out the end of the month.

I have 3 Wargame Design Studio games on my list to create content for, and I think one of those will be the next PC series I do. :)
I find this game fascinating. Looking forward to seeing it on steam

Thank you! The demo is out btw :) 0:01 Luke (lead)
Been waiting for this PC game for years! Excellent playthrough!
Thanks, Gary! Sounds like it's getting closer. :)
@@ZillaBlitz Demo end of this month would be a treat!

@@ZillaBlitz I will watch on Steam to see when they release.
Great news! Demo has been released on steam!
Thank you for doing this. Been waiting on this game for about 4 years. Cant wait to try it out. Hope you keep checking it out zilla
I'm intrigued by the leader development aspect too. I bet that could be a lot of fun over a campaign.
This actually looks pretty cool. I'll definitely be checking it out in the new year.
Glad you liked it! :)
❤ Luke (lead) Demo out now BTW :)
Sure looks interesting, if a little rough at this point. I love that casualties are so important - it would be my top priority.

I had this game wish listed in 2018. lol....I am glad to see this game is coming soon ish lol
That's a bit of a wait, yes. Glad to see it making progress. :)
Been waiting on this for a while. Looks good so far.
It was fun to get a chance to dig in some, and the demo should be released soon. :)
very interesting! scheduled for 1Q 2025 release on Steam
Looking forward to it. I'm curious to see how the campaign will work and how the leaders will develop.

"Captain Unnamed" sounds like a really self deprecating super hero
Yes, it kind of grew on me. Like the leader who constantly stands behind all the heroics of his soldiers, and takes no credit.
LOL! TV series coming soon ;)
He is unnamed because you can name your leader :). Luke (lead)
Demo out BTW :)

All my very limited military acumen, yes. :)

Yes. Or we die. :)
Just ‘yanks’?….lol

Wait! This has been in development for 6 years or more and there's 2 tiny scenarios to show for it??!! This is a dead game if so....
