My all time favorite story of Mr. Terrific is when he saved the world from being conquered by Neo-Nazis when they used magic to negate all superpowers on Earth except for their own metahumans. He survived for years on the Neo-Nazi dominated Earth as a prisoner until he escaped during a planned uprising, broke into a lab and used their time machine to avert that future timeline.
People forget that Mister Terrific is that dude! He's way better than he gets credit for. The man doesn't lead all these different teams for nothing. Batman even knows he has to respect Terrific's game.

He and Midnighter are two of my favorite DC comic [extended] universe characters. Loved Mr. Terrific's turn in "Strange Adventures" as the unbiased sleuth getting to the bottom of the mystery and cracking an alien language en route to the destination planet to review its archives.

For a younger Mr. Terrific I could see someone like Algee Smith playing him, who was Chris McKay in Euphoria, he was an extremely intelligent high schooler who was struggling with his relationship and academics because he was focused on getting a scholarship. And for a middle aged version I'd say Chiwetel Ejiofor.

I honestly can't believe Justice League Action isn't a bigger show than it is. Its so freaking good. Especially if you know your DC Comics. There's so many little Easter eggs and nods to the comics, it isn't even funny. Every time I watch it, I see something legit. Rhodes definitely could play John Stewart as well. He's got the look. He just seems like a believable bad ass.
I don't know how he hasn't had a film yet because almost all characters that look cool are cool because of fantasy/fictional elements aspects, but this character is one of the coolest characters I have ever seen - cool as he looks suave as hell and looks like he got swag!!!
Mister Terrific needs more time in the limelight. He is such an excellent character. It's a shame the CW didn't give him his due. It didn't bother me that they made him gay. It bothered me that they made him weak and a sidekick who was only useful for his computer skills and not much more.

See, I don't understand how someone with a pedigree like Mr. Terrific is only the 3rd smartest man in the DCU, Lex Luthor and Batman don't have a rap sheet nearly as long as Michael Holt, I think it's about time we stop calling him the 3rd smartest and give him that top spot we all know he deserves, he's not the 3rd smartest man, he's the smartest man in the DCU, period.
He's also showed up in the "Injustice" adaptation, giving Superman the deconstruction of Gun Control and help Batman instead. Originally it was Flash that did the argument, but Mr. Terrific would have dismantled Superman's argument just as well. It is a great scene in a mid movie imo.

Mr. Terrific is one of the best characters, but he doesn't get enough 'air time' for me. He's also a legacy character who has developed so nicely, he overshadows his predecessor. But the one thing I'm not buying is his being 'the third smartest man', I think he should at least be tie with Batman and maybe have Dr. Midnight be the third smartest man (I say that because he was able to keep up with Mr. Terrific when they were forced to play each other in a game of chess to the death back in Justice Society.)
I agree. I'm gonna need DC to upgrade my man, Michael Holt, to no less than #2. He's on Lex's level. This man is always coming up with shit that baffles Batman. If that doesn't bump him up I don't know what will.
My problem with characters receiving rankings like " third smartest man in the world", etc. is... How did they quantify that? Did they force everyone in the world to take an IQ test just so they could give out these rankings? How do they know that there's not some undiscovered super genius in some remote African village somewhere, just waiting to be discovered?
You always hear about certain comic book characters that have genius level intellect in their bios. Mister Fantastic, Lex Luthor, Dr Doom, Batman and Black Panther. What do all of these guys have in common. They’ve been in big screen movies. Mr Terrific is highly underrated and he needs more exposure. Just like Blue Marvel.

The arrowverse/Greg Berlanti did a great injustice to the character of Mister terrific by making him not live up to the character. He's not just there for support. He's really the Reed Richards of the DCU! Just cooler. So anyone who plays him should get the same respect and know the mindset of the character.
They had me so excited when they first said he was gonna be on the show, but I should've known they wouldn't do him right. Mr. Terrific should be running his own team, and Oliver should be asking him how to bring down villains, not Holt running plays for Oliver. He gets treated better in the damn animated shows lol
Only now finding out about Mr Terrific from the recent Superman Legacy photo leaks and he is such a cool character! I love how James Gunn takes lesser known characters and puts them in the spotlight.
I loved his comic. Always thought his backstory had depth. With a good story I would hope he'd have more notoriety. Next to Icon and Blue Marvel, one of my favorite black characters.

Funny I actually had Jaleel White (yes Urkel) for Mr Terrific. At least a TV version. But Rhodes could definitely work. I had a poll up for Trevante Rhodes as Marvel’s Nighthawk and it was crazy how many people voted yes

I was heavily into D.C. Comics when i was a youngster. I had recently seen the was a new Mr Terrific but didn't realise he was so cool...what would be kinda bangin' would be if he teamed up with the original Mr Terrific...because he was always one of my favourite charachters from the JSA

Comics when i was younger but in particular the Earth Two heroes and with Mister Twrrific i always thought he was quite an underrated and rarely seen member of the JSA even though he was a full time member...i first discovered the JSA through a Justice League team up that i remember use to happen every year and as soon as i saw them i was completely hooked...as i got a bit older i got more heavily into Marvel but my appreciation of the Earth Two heroes never waned. Now in my forties my interest for D.C. Comics and Marvel Comics has been reignited...my passion for Marvel and D.C. never died it just simmered for a few decades-but now its back and im thinking of starting to collect D.C and Marvel Comics again and im happy to say your channel is fueling my desire...keep it coming with the quality videos. Problem is that existing black characters don't really get much traction. Black Panther has been around since the 60's and people just heard about him when the movie came out.

Yeah the first time I saw Mr. Terrific was on the Arrow and I was like this dude is so lame. Now I know that he's actually just poorly portrayed and watered down.

See, I don't understand how someone with a pedigree like Mr. Terrific is only the 3rd smartest man in the DCU, Lex Luthor and Batman don't have a rap sheet nearly as long as Michael Holt, I think it's about time we stop calling him the 3rd smartest and give him that top spot we all know he deserves, he's not the 3rd smartest man, he's the smartest man in the DCU, period.
He's also showed up in the "Injustice" adaptation, giving Superman the deconstruction of Gun Control and help Batman instead. Originally it was Flash that did the argument, but Mr. Terrific would have dismantled Superman's argument just as well. It is a great scene in a mid movie imo.

The JSA is the first superheros team In the comic book world but DC is holding them back
Mr. Terrific is one of the best characters, but he doesn't get enough 'air time' for me. He's also a legacy character who has developed so nicely, he overshadows his predecessor. But the one thing I'm not buying is his being 'the third smartest man', I think he should at least be tie with Batman and maybe have Dr. Midnight be the third smartest man (I say that because he was able to keep up with Mr. Terrific when they were forced to play each other in a game of chess to the death back in Justice Society.)
The only reason they keep floating that is because he is black. He is much smarter than Batman he is a Lex Luthor level genuis.

My problem with characters receiving rankings like " third smartest man in the world", etc. is... How did they quantify that? Did they force everyone in the world to take an IQ test just so they could give out these rankings? How do they know that there's not some undiscovered super genius in some remote African village somewhere, just waiting to be discovered?

You always hear about certain comic book characters that have genius level intellect in their bios. Mister Fantastic, Lex Luthor, Dr Doom, Batman and Black Panther. What do all of these guys have in common. They’ve been in big screen movies. Mr Terrific is highly underrated and he needs more exposure. Just like Blue Marvel.

The arrowverse/Greg Berlanti did a great injustice to the character of Mister terrific by making him not live up to the character. He's not just there for support. He's really the Reed Richards of the DCU! Just cooler. So anyone who plays him should get the same respect and know the mindset of the character.
They had me so excited when they first said he was gonna be on the show, but I should've known they wouldn't do him right. Mr. Terrific should be running his own team, and Oliver should be asking him how to bring down villains, not Holt running plays for Oliver. He gets treated better in the damn animated shows lol

Funny I actually had Jaleel White (yes Urkel) for Mr Terrific. At least a TV version. But Rhodes could definitely work. I had a poll up for Trevante Rhodes as Marvel’s Nighthawk and it was crazy how many people voted yes

I may be wrong, but I think Michael Jai White voiced Mr Terrific at one point too. And if CW explore the multiverse more, I hope they can find a universe where Mr T is more true to his bad ass comicbook self, and is a legit rival and equal to Oliver.

I was heavily into D.C. Comics when i was a youngster. I had recently seen the was a new Mr Terrific but didn't realise he was so cool...what would be kinda bangin' would be if he teamed up with the original Mr Terrific...because he was always one of my favourite charachters from the JSA
One day, ya never know. I think they did cross paths in a JSA a way ways back. But I may be miss-remembering it

Comics when i was younger but in particular the Earth Two heroes and with Mister Twrrific i always thought he was quite an underrated and rarely seen member of the JSA even though he was a full time member...i first discovered the JSA through a Justice League team up that i remember use to happen every year and as soon as i saw them i was completely hooked...as i got a bit older i got more heavily into Marvel but my appreciation of the Earth Two heroes never waned. Now in my forties my interest for D.C. Comics and Marvel Comics has been reignited...my passion for Marvel and D.C. never died it just simmered for a few decades-but now its back and im thinking of starting to collect D.C and Marvel Comics again and im happy to say your channel is fueling my desire...keep it coming with the quality videos. Im loving it 😈😈😈

This is what need. Make movies about existing Black characters. You don’t need to race/gender swap characters. It’s lazy!
Problem is that existing black characters don't really get much traction. Black Panther has been around since the 60's and people just heard about him when the movie came out.
