    Thanks for this video - in doing it myself I noticed that you can move that black box above the battery out of the way by sliding it up off the bracket and then out, makes it a lot easier to access.

      Glad it helped! After I got it back in a realized it had a little give too, oh well. I'll pin a comment saying that. Thank you!

    Appreciate the video. It’s an expensive endeavour if done via dealer/shop. Again thanks and put more out for us dragster owners.

      No problem. The weather is getting warmer here so many move videos to come this summer.

    After i do this now i would recommend for everyone to just do it like the manual says, means remove the tank like it should. otherwise u risk to break a connection to your tank and will never be 100% sure all connectors are connected to the tank ( 3 ). Maybe it takes 10mins more but u will be happy.

    • @mzgarage
      @mzgarage  7 місяців тому

      Yea, it's definitely not an easy swap like many other bikes. I did have to loosen some of the lines going to the tank to get a bit more slack for enough room for the swap.

    Very helpful video. Only suggestion is to be super careful lifting up that tank or have a friend help so you don't snap the elbow coming out of the fuel pump.

      Thanks! Yes, it was quite the tedious task. I hope I never have to go through that again.

      @@mzgarage sounds like you broke yours also. Can you tell me how to replace the elbow? I’m kinda SOL right now, because it doesn’t screw out and I don’t see any kind of clip on the inside of the pump assembly.

      @@unbranded7718 Sort of. I did reply to this a few days ago but it disappeared?! It’s not really repairable for full flow-rate. My speed was limited to about 85mph. Went ahead and bought a new one at the MV Agusta dealer. It was $835; it’s now installed and working well. If 85mph is good, then it can be DYI’d. You can get a 1/8” brass barb nipple at the hardware store, then drill for size and epoxy it together.

    Did you replace your voltage regulator on the bike to a lithium specific one? Heard this waa very important to do to avoid overcharging and fire

    • @mzgarage
      @mzgarage  Рік тому

      I did not. I honestly have not heard of that being an issue. Both batteries run a very similar voltage. If that was the case, wouldn't have have to do that on every bike that was upgraded to a lithium from a lead acid?

  • @Firestorm637
    @Firestorm637 Рік тому

    Lithium hood better charge longer vs lead acid. Even cars are having problems. Many switch to 2 batteries or now Porsches offer lithium 12 volt batteries. Some companies moving to 48 v cuz of electronic

    Is the fuel tank lifting straight up or with some angles? I’m considering getting it done by myself so I don’t need to carry a jump starter every day 😂

    • @sword5938
      @sword5938 Місяць тому

      Just unplug your battery...
      To the right of the fuses you'll see a small black panel with 1 small hex bolt, take that off and you'll see a connector there. Unplug that and it disconnected your battery, you can also jump start your bike from here I'd show pictures but can't here...

    can you still use the battery tender with the lithium swap?

    • @mzgarage
      @mzgarage  4 місяці тому

      The tender that came with it is only for SLA. You will have to purchase a lithium compatible tender.

    • @mzgarage

      I have been meaning to do a follow-up up video, but have been distracted with so many projects. It is deffinetly a noticeable improvement, however ai have noticed a decline since installation. I tested out the restart function when I first installed, it and it worked perfectly, but since then is has dropped below 12.6v, which it's not supposed to be able to do.

    Most companies make lithium batteries same size as replacement battery. You could of bought a generic smaller lithium.

    Lithium batteries only lose 1% charge/month vs 1%/day with toxic lead acid. Once lead acid down to 70% of charge it’s dead. Lithium are deep cycle. Full power charge down to 5% charge. Lithium higher CCA, lighter, no corrosion, no explosive hydrogen gas, last 3-5 times longer with longer warranty, charge in minutes vs hours with lead acid, lithium less toxic, lithium IRON phosphate batteries(LPF) no risk fires vs Lithium ION.(still low) no trickle charger needed as shelf life one year.
