Nope. I have been watching any number of YT channels which seems to indicate there's no way it was worth the initial price. Boils down to moving about, selecting specific destinations, watching cut scenes and almost always - almost always - winning the localized battles. I have yet to see anyone truly failing on the main mission. Heck, some have already started again, in a manner similar to NMS. Now - when the price gets down to oh, $29.95, sure, I'll consider purchasing it.

6/10 game with the potential to be a 9/10 game. Too many issues with crashing to desktop. Too many components of the game are fixed at launch by mods. Having to add 20 mods at launch to put the game in a place it should have been in from launch isn't okay. Not talking about big mods either. Make RP walk match NPCs. Make default jog slower. Stop making framerate tie to in game physics. Forcing people to use points because the encumber system is far too overbearing. Etc. etc. The game has the potential to be their best yet, but much the same as cyberpunk at launch, it's just being hamstrung because it most likely isn't finished yet. Yay shareholders.

The faction quests I've done (Vanguard, Freestar, Ryujin) have grabbed me fairly well, aside from moments where other connections you have that reasonably should have some impact simply don't. One of the quests towards the end of the main story stood out incredibly well. Ship building is a good start, though it does need some improvement.
The game falls apart in other areas, though. For starters, I've played Elite Dangerous, and while I understand Starfield isn't meant to be a space sim, they could have at least taken some cues on navigation and traversal.
Weapon & armor customization was incredibly disappointing for me not just because it's bad, but because it's actively worse than it's older sibling FO4.
Oh, and the temples. Who played through that and then said "yeah, it would be really fun to have to do that exact same tedious ritual 20+ more times"?

I’ve got 152 hours in the game thus far. Almost no shipbuilding, or outpost building. Just … playing. A story or faction mission or two, then some exploration, then some mission board missions, back to the story … distracted to this side quest instead … and of course all of that peppered with the inventory management mini-game … and … back at it. That is the 'freedom' I think Bethesda games offer, and I’m having a great time, I really am. Yes, bugs. Yes inventory. Yes, procedural generation repetition. Yes to all those things and more. I don’t disagree with many of your points … yes the economy is static, weak even … but this isn’t an economic simulation and I didn’t expect it to be, and a 'living' economy would have to veer in that direction, and I just don’t expect it, though it might be quite a bit more fun. I think one of the things I’d like to see most is, on planets, if I help an outpost one of of the random missions, it would be cool to see … actually see … the outpost benefit from that.. a new building and a couple more settlers, a couple more missions to grow that settlement more. But I’m afraid that too wanders into simulation territory, and I don’t expect that to happen. Would be pretty cool, though. Certainly there are quality of life improvements to be made, no doubt. Bugs fixes, of course. Vehicles? Sure. Whatever … if exploring is your thing, you don’t need a Speed Buggy. If exploring isn’t your thing, vehicles aren't going to make you like it all of a sudden, are they? For me the game is a 9/10. Ladders suck. Inventory sucks. A few of the bugs suck ( but most are just super funny ). The other things that aren’t great I can live with. Overall I love the ability to just get lost in the game and have the hours melt away far to fast. Great video, really enjoying your content. Cheers!

Starfield, to me, is an example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. I mean, if you analyze each part of the game as a separate entity, then there are games that do it better. All of those different systems combined together make for a pretty good game. If I had any complaints, it would be that I want more. More ship parts, more points of interest, more radiant quests, more things to do in space, and so on.
And I want a version of the Pirate Sniper helmet without the Crimson Fleet logo painted on it.
Anyway, 200+ hours, with no intention of slowing down.

Starfield is ripe for modding and also for future installments by Bethesda and many of the complaints people have about loading screens are obfuscating the possibilities that this design philosophy combined with the 1000 planets and isolated system opens up for Starfield. It is the greatest strength of Starfield, that the game can keep expanding indefinitely. I really think this is what Todd meant when he kept iterating that they had plans for this game to be played for years to come and they intend to support it for years to come. It was designed from the ground up for this, for expansion via modders AND Bethesda.

My biggest disappointment was the lack of melee weapons.
    There's a total of 1 axe, 3 swords, and 3 knives...
No laser melee weapons, like light sabers...
And the worst part is the melee weapons cannot be upgraded.

My biggest issue is ship cargo. Not the amount. The fact of all your cargo of one ship is transferred to another ship easily making the next ship over encumbered. And no space at all. So for example you built a hulky freighter with 7k storage in cargo. Then you want to switch to a battleship build with only 2k or less. You go out to fight you can't collect anything new. That's my biggest issue I've seen on my end

5:14 Comparing Starfield with simulation space games is a bit wrong, because Starfield is not a simulator, but an RPG, so there is things to consider. Of couse we who played those games, we felt that we needed more and maybe it could be done, but we need to think this is a Bethesda RPG, so we can expect them to add this in an inventive way that does not feel copied from some simulation space games that we know how it works.

“It’s not like other space sims like Elite” That’s because it’s not a space sim. It’s an RPG with a space paint job. The sooner people realize it’s literally just Fallout 4 in space, the less frustrated they will be with the game. This isn’t Star Citizen, Elite: Dangerous, etc. It’s an RPG. I might give it another go at some stage, but I'll wait at least a year, let them release a few patches and get the modding community to fix the rest of the problems. I also never really cared about any of the characters. Not like I did in Mass Effect or similar space RPGs.
It's not a terrible game, but it wasn't worth the hype. Not the space RPG I hoped it would be, but that's just my opinion. I'm glad a lot of people like this, and hopefully that results in continued development and improvement.

For me it would be like a 6/10. I have about 100 hours and have had alot of fun and think its a good game. But I do see some major issues. The main being that the universe of starfield is just so bland compared to elder scrolls and fallout. If there were actual humanoid aliens in this game it would definetly help diversify and give the game some more character.
The space traveling kinda sucks cause theres nothing in space. I dont like the "space is supposed to be boring" excuse cause its sci fi, make it unboring. If you play a game like stellaris you can see that. Imagine finding lost remnants of alien civilization, black holes, giant alien monsters known for devouring fleets, maybe add a lovecraft element in the emptiness of space given the game is not afraid to go supernatural, etc.
Another I can think of is the game just feels so safe. Theres no gore, rare bad language and no real scary factions that tackle serious poltical ideologies and methods like slavery for example.

  • @MrDaqar
    @MrDaqar Рік тому +3

My biggest issue with the game is the regularity with which ships appear in the sky. It's ok for settlements and such, but when you land in a random spot on wart of the ass end of nowhere and 5 seconds later another ship lands a few hundred meters away, making the most remote place seem more busy than the London Underground at rush-hour high-tide! The universe seems small, claustrophobic and overpopulated because of this. You don't get the sense of scale of how vast and empty it really is.
Second biggest issue is the lack of logic in the game. How are you getting lung damage from a toxic cloud if you wear a space suit? What kinda leaky-ass space suit is that?
I've gotten burns and frostbite on planets with temperetures between -2C and 25C, but it doesn't happen on planets that are -240C or +385C?
I have to go down on the planet and look for resources?!? On foot?!? By myself??! Don't I have a robot/drone that can do that? I'm a member of a space faring species, for crying out loud! But maybe I'm expecting too much, I mean...the compass is barely there at all!
I do love the chill of surveying planets and it's my favorite thing to do...but that chill is often ruined by the frequent visits of other spaceships, the lack of sensors and scanner range, and I love the space action!

If they actually updated the engine then we would have waited probably another 4 years which is kinda ok in my book. But if they did that then the modding community will riot and Bethesda would have a bigger problem than what's essentially silly expectations from the players. Bethesda have made a decision to keep its modding community alive, we wouldn't have that freedom on a new engine. I dont feel like I've been duped at all, in fact todd language while somewhat perhaps deceptive, he didn't really out right lie, anyone who understands the engine knew it wasn't gonna be a no man's sky levels of space travel, which seems to be the biggest issue for people is not being able to fly onto a planets surface, and I think the title system is a very fair compromise given the scale of it all. I'm almost hundred hours in myself having started new game plus and I'm having a blast. My first run even I was looking at ign review and thinking perhaps they got it right.... definitely not. The game really opens up to the player the more they put into it just like todd promised. I'm willing to bet alot of "I was wrong about starfield" videos will drop in the coming months to a year.

One interestingly annoying aspect is that the planets you usually want to travel more for scans of flora and fauna, are usually planets with close to 1g. Meaning the traversal is horrendous compared to the low gravity planets you won't be spending much time on scanning at all because it can't support any life. Vehicles are a must for high gravity planets and it just blows my mind why they wouldn't include them.
Also, if you're on Xbox and have GFN, hook whatever you can stream it with to your TV and play with more than 30 fps. Your'e not getting unofficial mods anyway, at least get some smooth gameplay. It's so much better to play. The two instances of 1 second of input lag in 100 hours of gameplay were worth playing at higher frame rates and resolution.

      @@FussyPickles I guess I wasn't paying attention.
I'd need a full list of what they promised, but Starfield does indeed deliver more than the bare minimum of what I was expecting.
      Space travel and combat? Check.
Unique planet generation and exploration? Check.
      Solid story telling? Check.
Gameplay at least on par with Fallout 4? Check.
If I wasn't having fun, I wouldn't be at 132 hours. If you find the game boring, I'm certainly not going to argue against your opinion. That's pretty subjective.
HOWEVER, I do take issue with your points on the engine as it makes me question how much you understand game development or even software development.
It's the same engine, yes, but it's their in house engine and it likely underwent a lot of development itself in order to make Starfield a reality. I doubt we will understand just how different it actually is until they release the development kit and open the game up for modding so we can all see what's going on under the hood.
From my experience, the things that people say Bethesda failed to deliver on with Starfield are largely things that can be filled in with DLC or mods. Not an amazing answer to complaints, but that's largely what you expect of a Bethesda title.
What makes Starfield different, in my opinion, is how open the game is in this regard.
With so many planets and so much theoretical space to create new settings and stories, the field is open to far more expansion than previous Bethesda titles. There's no longer a concern regarding a certain area on the map having to be rebuilt to accommodate a new DLC/mod or having to bolt a new zone into the game. You can just use any one of the many, many planets now and there's very little risk of that overlapping.

Also one of my biggest problems of the mechanics is the game is very linear, like the way I like to play Bethesda games is, you often get offers by shady people for a bigger reward to give them the Guber or say they are dead or what ever. I like to take the cash and betray that person going back to the quest giver. The game doesn't give you choice at all! The game locks you in with your dialog choices, the game actually is starting to feel very restricted.
For example a proper tiny side mission no important characters, the reliant medical mission, track down the dude suspected of stealing the data, fly to him, someone else is responsible, that guy offers you cash up front to keep that data and frame the dude. If you accept the framing you cant just kill the guy in front of you that has the data slate, just becomes immortal, same with the opposite, side with the innocent guy he becomes immortal...
I feel like there was more freedom than that is Skyrim and fallout, but its been so long maybe there wasn't???

I believe Starfield was designed from the ground up for this very purpose. People are complaining about the load screens, but it's these instances that are what is going to allow infinite expansion possibilities whether it's systems or stories/locations/quests. Think about it 1000 planets...that is 1000 planets of possibilities for modders and paid expansions. In a seamless game this wouldn't be possible, but with so many empty instanced locations, the sky is the limit. You couldn't add a whole town with it's own background etc like Akila in a game like skyrim or fallout 4 because you really are limited to that one location and adding or expanding isn't really something you could do without something like a "boat" to Far Harbor, and even then you are still confined. But in Starfield you can do whatever you want. I really think that Bethesda built Starfield from the ground up for this thing, very intentional.

I'm enjoying the game, but I don't consider it a space game. Space is largely just a loading screen with extra steps. Essentially Fallout with a wider variety of locations. I've liked the characters, especially those in Constellation and the story so far. Though some of the "flirt" text options are horribly cringeworthy and don't fit the conversation at all.
On the downside the UI/inventory interaction and ship/outpost building are all terrible. Flight controls are also pretty bad. Since the throttle is fixed, why wouldn't thrusters be the default actions for a/d/space/ctrl??? Perhaps all of it was designed primarily for controller and is less rubbish with one?

NMS and Starfield couldn't be more different games. NMS entirely lacks gunplay, Space combat, story, character progression, meaning to anything you do at all. The "combat" in NMS is baby grade you just need to hold down the buttons and you win. I've never come close to dying in hundreds of hours of playing NMS. NMS is all about unlocking new slots to fill will garbage you need to use to unlock new slots. Progress for the sake of progress with no purpose or end in sight. Outposts are a fucking choose your own adventure game.

My prelaunch anticipation was that we would get a huge game with tons of potential, that needed lots of work, as in a year or more of patches, fixes and updates, and that the game would not really start to settle into its potential until CE was out, and the flagship mods with it. So far, it is right on track of my expectations. : P
Starfield, perhaps more than any other game to date, is a long term investment for players. If you aren't up for swimming through a pond of issues, and headscratchers, come back in six months if not a year. Otherwise find your own best way to have fun in the short-term.

Had this game been released as an early access I would agree with you, but it wasn't. It was released a a completed game with the promise of future DLC's at a very 'A List' price.
I look forward to the future DLC's but the fundamental mechanics of this game are broke from the very start. You can loot 50k of items in 20 minutes, but it might take longer than that to sell them, having to wait on a bench for 48 hours for a vender to restock multiple times . You would expect with the amount of resources that can be gathered through outpost and the number of possible finished goods that can be created there would be some way of achieving that, unfortunately its an almost impossible task, either the outposts need to double in size or the number of outpost we can build needs to double. Ship building should have been a big seller, but there is no way to know where the ladders or doors will be until you complete you ship, surely a simple indicator when of where the shipbuilder has decided where these will be would have been an obvious omission.
This game is in no way complete and had no right to be released at this price as a complete game.

It's be nice if the NMS style planet hopping was included but to be fare it's still a load screen. When you push the warp drive and 'run' to the new planet it's just a smoother load caption. I'm sure they will do more eventually but this is their 1st attempt at a space game and SURE they could and prob did play other games like NMS, Elite, Outer Worlds, Star Citizen, Stellaris, Eve and Space Engineers but I feel the main hurdle is the Engine Bethesda continues to hold fast to. I hope they improve faster than NMS, Elite and Star Citizen did and certainly seems like they are listening to the online feedback.
Heck even if they started by including things from other genre that would be a huge boost. Some easter eggs about which planet is Fall Out style earth or one that is full of Elder Scrolls creatures albeit maybe a small parrot sized dragon or Knells or Striders. It'd also be nice if they listened to the science community and stopped assuming every planet is void. Sure it doesn't need to be populated like NMS or Spore but creatures are pretty sparse.
    Only time will tell

Will not happen, because unlike NMS, SF loads a new instance for every map pixel each time. Only thing that stays are places you have actually been to. So fx. if you land, spot a base 900metres away, you can't fly closer, because that undiscovered place will reload a new instance.
If anything, they should allow us to scan the entire planet, lock in ALL bases, outposts etc, and then we could fly around. And that wont happen will it, because then its just NMS all over again, which I doubt Todds pride would allow.

Yes I get that the game crates a custom instance every time you land in a new spot. I think there's a wide gulf between having a wish list for a game and a desire, if not outright demand, to "play the game the way I want to." Nobody truly plays any game the way they want to, they are always bounded by the rules established by the creator of the game. If your desire happens to align with those rules, it's not your desire that won, it's a confluence of desire and design coming together, nothing more.
I choose to play games the way they are. If they resonate, fine. If they don't, there's nothing holding a gun to my head saying I have to play it. It's one reason I really dislike rating-style reviews. First off, they're always subjective to the reviewer. And secondly, they may or may not reflect the viewer's own tastes and opinions. I'd much rather a simple "Yes, it's worth playing" or "No, it's not worth playing" or "Give it a while to either be patched more or be released on deep discount (or both) before buying." Those are simple, matter-of-fact statements that are far better in my opinion than a number or letter grade. For instance, people will see your 7/10, which is an above average good quality game, but in many consumer's minds, it's mid-tier and not worth bothering with. There's a built-in danger using that sort of rating system in that there's no consistency with that reviewer across games he's reviewed, and there's certainly no consistency from reviewer to reviewer using the same system.

I was looking forward the most to exploring and outpost building, but am completely frustrated by the brain dead economy they've created that renders much of that pointless, and the repetition across the board that quickly becomes apparent. Same animals, same sites, same traits, same mini-quests, same enemy bases... every planet feels the same as the last, with only minor variations. And what is with the toxic gas vents? Seriously.... Oh and can't forget the non-physics that pervades the game - Space is a fluid now! At least it isn't Starbase.

Well, Karen, it's because this game isn't a sandbox by any means, so people who were expecting the type of exploration/freedom that you find in games like NMS or Empyrion or Eve, of course y'all were bound to be disappointed, ffs, it's an RPG (Like ME or Cyberpunk for recent example), NOT a fkn sandbox game smh...
Expectations guys, it's a dang Bethesda game, y'all should have expected a Bethesda game, and for that matter, we got the best game from this company since Skyrim, and Imma just say it, it's their most outstanding game to date.
I can't even imagine with the future DLC's AND mods how Epic this game will keep continuing to be.
Skyrim that came out in 2011 if I recall, is still played by a sh*t ton of people (Especially with the Chat GPT mod), and Starfield will STILL be relevant by 2030's.
Y'all should be grateful that a game like this exist, and if you're whining about optimization, I play on Ultra since day one with no issues whatsoever, get a better PC, you peasants.
And I'm on my 4th Game+, and every game get extras & twists (it's not a classic Gameplus+ for those who don't know, you enter a multiverse once you beat the game) that keeps you want to play it over and over.
You have 100+ hours and asking ''was it worth it''? The fact that you played 100 hrs in 2 weeks says it all. A disappointing game doesn't even deserve 20 hrs, jesus 🤦‍♂
This game isn't only the GOTY, but the GOTD, where D stands for last decade. (RPG wise)

No offence, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I never understood people who can play a game for 100+ hours and then still feel disappointed about the game. You can't expect every game to have thousands of hours of enjoyment. Even if a game 'only' entertain you for 100 hours, that is still good value considering the price of a game.
Also, if you play 120+ hours in less than 3 weeks, then you might be overdoing it. Maybe spread it out a little. It might be you who are burned out more than it is a problem with the game.
If the game is no longer fun after 100 hours, put it on the back burner for a bit. Let the modding community do its thing, or Bethesda a chance to apply a patch or update or two, to fix the more annoying short comings. Then maybe have another go at it.

for me its because i feel like with just a few additions this game could have been so much better. the whole game is geared towards newgame+ but you loose everything other than levels in that so whats the point setting up outposts and building a great ship? why collectd legnedary weapons and design a cool home? if they allowed you to kepp at least some of those things like the space ship id be happy.
there also seems to be less interesting mission that last at most 20 mins where as in skyrim/fallout felt more stretched out and impactful. theres not really any faction v faction quests for example.
i read a good critique that it felt like a wide ocean just knee deep. i like the game but it does feel like they are so close in making a masterpiece but failed at the last hurdle. hoping that modders solve that doesnt make the base game any better either it just means bethesda didnt do their job right.

They created a great shipbuilder with loads of different options but they hardly made any content for it?
Also planets are so repetetive, its litteraly the same mine, outpost or whatever on all planets.
They could have accomplished so much more with just a bit more effort on actual exploration content.

It's not a great game at all. It's a very mediocre game. Missions are extremely mediocre, combat is mediocre (not boring tho), exploration is far below average and ship combat is underwhealming. I personally enjoyed the game because I played it more or less as Wing Commander Privateer with planetary exploration (even if somewhat boring). That being said, trading is very mediocre.

compared to Elite Dangerous, this game is a very very small world of only 1k planets, as apposed to Elite Dangerous with 5 trillion stars with planets and freedom to do whatever you want. So what is 5 trillion divided by 1000? thats the size difference between this dot of a map and the Elite Dangerous universe, which is a 1 to 1 to our own milky way. not a made up place. Just a made up future. This game does look interesting, but to say is a huge epic world is far from the truth.

Couldn’t get into this game at all and Fallout 3 is my favourite game of all time. Felt so bland and boring to me. Didn’t care about the story, or characters.
Lacked basic stuff like was capped on 30 FPS on Series X where I was playing and no FOV slider or anything. Would give it a 5 out of 10 personally, not good not bad just mediocre as possible.

It pains me somewhat to say it but if I knew then what I know now I would not buy the game. It's more Mass Effect then NMS and...I'm not really looking for that. It's a fast travel sim and god there is an annoying animation for EVERYTHING. Literally EVERYTHING is so damn tedious. There aren't 1000 planets, that was a blatant lie. There are 1000 celestial bodies (moons and planets and stars and you can;t land on stars or gas giants). Also the outpost thing literally feels like and operates like an afterthought busy work. It's totally half arsed and isn't even close to a real system. Bethesda also massively deliberately mislead everyone on how many "planets" you could build on at once. I do enjoy some aspects of it but it totally feels somewhat like a bait and switch. I defiantly would have waited until it was like $30 on sale versus getting the $90 one.

Have to agree, so much potential simply wasted. Why can you build a production empire with multiple outposts creating products that feed into other outposts only to find that at the end you can only sell 11,000 credits worth of produced good every 48 hours. I spend more time sitting on a bench than I do building my outposts.
I get the logic, if you could sell 50k worth of weapons, loot, or produced goods at a time money would no longer be an issue after only 1 week into the game. However a simple mechanic like having a bot or small ship that you load up with loads of goods and that bot or ship trading automatically at the current rates would free up all that time waiting on a bench. even better making those bots or ships buildable items with their own tech tree would add so much to the game and this would not be a huge task for the dev team. even simpler have a buulk trader that will buy an unlimited number of items at 25% of the normal price, even this would make an outpost empire worthwhile.
There are 77 resources in the game, but you can only build a max of 24 outpost after a lot of research. What fool came up with that idea? Surely one of the aims of going down the outpost building route would be to gather every single resource and to use these to produce every single possible product. As it currently stands this is an almost impossible task, requiring most outposts to gather at least 2 or 3 resources. With the very limited space given for an outpost you are then screwed because having put down the resource gathers and built the required cargo links there is more or less zero space to actually place manufactures to build the products and store them. And you can totally forget about making these look pretty or aesthetically pleasing. Either the outposts need to double in size or we need the ability to build double the number of outposts.
Finally when you have completed your empire but due to the lack of cargo links you are dumping multiple product into the same storage without the ability to set storage quota's for each product or even the simplest off logic structures like a sorter. 100's off hours into the game you realise most of your storage is full of iron with many produced product never reaching their final storage.
Seriously, what a complete and utter feck up. Who at Bethesda is actually thinking ahead regarding the decisions they have made. Strikes me with the Microsoft deal they have sold their soul to making a game that is primarily aimed at console players, shoot--kill-repeat, and when you actually look at the game in the round it is as shallow as a soup on a plate. What could easily have been the most epic game in 20 years will be dropped by most players within a year despite Todd Howard's claims of building a game with longevity at its heart.

This is not a troll post, I'm just not infected by fanboism like so many others.
Just made a similar comment video although without voice. Honestly... I think the game is bust. I totally get why influencers and UA-camrs are falling over on their asses to stay on good terms with gaming companies, it's a business model to stay loyal while at the same time trying to sound like you offer objective critisism. However, I don't give 2 Fs about being loyal to game developers. I give HUGE Fs to gamers and the integrity of actually providing a "done" game, which you have the audacity of demanding a premium price.
    1. Game is NOT open world. Let's stop talking about it like it is. There is no free roam...
    2. Story line is bland... I don't feel a connection with the characters at all.
    3. The game is a woke wash project, which is obvious with pretty much all NPCs. It's vomit inducing to be honest.
    4. Game is too easy... you can go through it in no time, and to those who ask why would I? Well... I have to ask back; why spend hours and hours building bases and collecting mats to satisfy an overly cumbersom base system, especially when you don't need to for anything else in the game to function. You don't even need bases for progress.
4.B You don't need bases, because you don't need to farm. You can buy EVERYTHING from outpost vendors, or find it by raiding bases. Everything you can't find, you don't need to progress in any way.
    5. I'm currently playing a lvl 32. I'm flying the Star Eagle and I'm wearing the Mk1 spacesuit...... I'm carving through lvl 75 systems and downing lvl 98 LEGEND bosses like butter. There is NO challenge at all.
    6. The drops are pointless.... the before mentioned lvl 98 litterally dropped nothing of value, nor did the chest he was protecting.
    7. Planets are barren, moons are barren. Cave's are the same every time, bases are the same every time, with loot I have no need for because... see no. 4 again.
    8. The travel system is overly cumbersome as well, always placing your 400 metres from anything. You can't fly closer due to the procedural BS, that works sub-par (NMS).
    9. I found the main Eclipse base by accident, carved through it in 5-10 minutes. Found nothing of value.
Seriously... once you have found a Robotics Facility, its the same every single time. Science Facility, same every single time, Decrepit Military Base, same every single time.
So, I'm left with a game, with no challenges, other than heading straight for NG+ and doing it all over again, only to shortly face... no challenge, other than going to NG+ and so on and so on.
I'm obviously not a PS player, so that ignorant, stupid, infantile argument has to stop.
It's obvious to me with the timeline that Bethesda thought they could piggy back on titles like Destiny, Star Citizen and NMS. They took parts of all, but without improving anything. What a shame and what a waste.
There is a basic concept within psychology called Cognitive Bias. There is also another thing called buyers remorse and there is a concept of valueing things of higher value if you paid a lot of money for it.
Those three combined produce in many people the need to find reason and justification to play the game and an inability to see the game's failure.
This is what is going on for most people right now. I just choose not to ride the hype train and lie to myself.
I just checked.... I have spent more hours and was more entertained by Early Access Sunkenland, than I have and will in Starfield. That says a lot. Also I have spent hours and hours in NMS back in the day.
Starfield simply does not deliver... however, like I said, I totally understand that you feel differently and I guess you can't blame UA-camrs because it's their job to provide content, and without connections > no content. And connections rely on being on good terms so... Too bad really.

I appreciate your points, though don't feel I'm being overly loyal towards Bethesda, there was a reason why I stopped playing F76 within a few days of the release and I've talked about it multiple times openly on stream. I personally enjoy Starfield, I enjoy the story and I know it will get better in time. But it's far from perfect. We just have different tastes.

@@TotalXclipse Oh I wasn't so much describing you here... but pretty much all the Review sites / magazines, and YT'ers who got early access and couldnt find the balance to compliment the game within reason.... Looking at you JackFrags, sry, I do like your commentary, but I just feel like... man... ease down, because the game is not that great, and the easter eggs are not THAT entertaining.
I honestly don't see this game going anywhere, because it will be a complete mess for them to balance out.
And that leads to the question: Is the game really worth 100 dollars? I might be after ALL intended DLCs have been made and offered for free.
But in the current state.... nah.
Everyone is suffering from cognitive bias.... "If I paid for this, it must be worth it. Especially since X influence said so."
We need honesty and integrity back amongst YTers and Streamers. We need someone who is not affraid to stare someone like Todd in the face and tell him straight up "You can't allow yourself to be proud of this work....."
