EDIT: Upgrading Sense Star Stuff to a B+ overall (S for stealth builds), the stealth community has spoken and I'm willing to upgrade SSS's status. I still think Void Form is the superior stealth skill but for anyone who doesn't like having to manually scan for enemies SSS is a solid pick, but it's still not even close as good as some of the other powers and that's why I can't justify putting it any higher. IMO, Anti-grav just replaced Unrelenting Force. UF just knocks the target back(or off a cliff). AG turns targets into 'shooting fish in a barrel' while active.
Yeah... Sense Star Stuff is criminally underrated here. The amount of information it gives you going into a fight and during a fight is so valuable. Plus, it takes very little power. By far the most used power for me right now.
It's also incredibly fun in the cases where the game is about to throw enemies at you seemingly out of nowhere, be that a terrormorph sitting cloaked or a cataxi hiding beneath the ground. No you don't get to jumpscare me.
Couldn't agree more; Sense Star Stuff is extremely useful, especially for stealth players. Plus it doesn't cost much to run, so you can use it in conjunction with another power. I'd rank this an A or an S, but it is DEFINITELY way better than a D-
Agreed. I’ve used Sense Star Stuff to the exclusion of all else. I don’t have all the powers but this video doesn’t convince me that the other powers he likes more are really better than SSS.
I really think they should change it so Vlad gives you multiple locations at a time instead of 1. Feels like you spend more time going back and forth to the Eye or The Lodge than you do exploring the planet to find the temple :(
@@ItsChineseGuy "When the Power From Beyond quest pops up telling you to go see Vlad, enter: setstage 854e8 10" -Mycenia (Nexusmods). I also use the short temple puzzle script on the nexus to make it one ring to complete. -Setstage console command -short puzzle script mod -skip power up + artifact mod Best quality of life mods. Starfield is notorious for wasting time lol.
Sense Star Stuff is amazing if you're doing a stealth sniper build. It lets you know where enemies are so you can more easily avoid being spotted. That and PRecognition's ability to tell you their patrol routes.
It's sometimes good in combat, too. I had missions where you had to rescue people and they only open the door if all enemies are dead. Without sense star I was always searching for the cowards that fled the premises. With sense star I know where they are.
Yea not sure how this is D tier. Seems like if it doesn't do damage this guy considers it useless (except personal atmosphere? Which is hilarious cause even if you run out of oxygen you dont die from just running.... so idk how thats s tier)
I accidentally used the anti gravity field in Neon on the edge of one of the catwalks (I usually have personal oxygen set cause I spend 90% of my time overencumbered) and all the citizens freaked tf out. Instead of running away from the 0 grav field they stampeded right for it, like sheep, up and over the catwalk barrier floating for a few seconds before exiting the edge of the field and falling into the ocean.
@seanlowrance9497 I stopped using powers because of that, I can´t understand they didn´t make a hotbar system for them. I always forget to equip the non combat power after a fight. Now I only use the personal oxygen thing .... and that´s it.
@@CookieLaddd if you're counting whirlwind shout as "good movement mechanics" ... lmao I'm not saying every first person action game needs to have Titanfall 2 tier movement, but the creation engine is so clunky when it comes to momentum
About void form. U can check containers without losing the stealth hability. Example: There's a Gun Rack with a gun and two ammos. If u pick the ammo or the gun, you become visible. But if you check the container for transfer and then pick all up, you remain invisible
@@ConnerZeeSo try this: go to neon city and find the Security building (it's somewhere on the main area) inside you will find a chest with a lot of illigal material take everything and go to sell to the trade authority in neon city👌🏻 Easy money 😉
Definitely don't disagree but it's completely eclipsed by void form in my opinion and relative to other skills I just don't think it competes considering how high the power cost is. Star stuff is very situationally helpful whereas void form is multi use and can unlock stealth hits from previously impossible angles
@@unclemumble void and sense are pretty much the only powers i use... i get up to an area, sense, go into void, and then systematically pick off everyone one by one. the extended range on sense pretty much gives you an idea of how many enemies to expect throughout an entire base and then pick them off with void a silenced pistol and my operator gear from ryojin
antigravity field is good too, especially for levelling the stealth melee skill, if u manage to cast it before u r seen, u can go in and they wont detect u while they are floating
See Star Stuff is probably best used when boarding an enemy vessel so you can find and kill every enemy, especially since some vessels can be small rat mazes.
Void form is amazing. It completely trivializes the Ryujin industries quest chain and since most of that chain can be done via speech and stealth, it is a solid first quest chain to do on NG+ to build up your credits and ammo supply
Yeah, I did Ryujin after getting Void Form, on my first play through. My son had already done the Ryujin quest line, and had had to fight his way through a few parts, while I got to ghost on through with no problem.
It;'s worth pointing out, precognition will also show you where creatures are going to move to and where their attention is. this is incredibly useful for those stealth missions.
@@zorse1235 That's a difficult question. Lorewise, the Dragonborn can remake reality easily with shouts, though in-game most of the shouts are relatively mundane. Some of the powers in Starfield can also remake reality, but it doesn't seem to be THAT strong. However, there are hints that even at rank 10 we can't do some of the things the other Starborn can (such as essentially teleport, even faster than Dash). Realistically, I'm guessing it would be whoever gets off a Slow Time effect first. Although, the ability to fire sniper rifles is a pretty huge advantage...
@@JB-xl2jc regardless of who wins both are extremely powerful precognition can also prove to be a huge advantage as well seeing as I don’t recall the dragon born seeing in the future
Learning more about Create Vacuum was surprising. I tried it on some spacers before, saw the low damage numbers, and decided it was far better just to use my gun and save my power cost for anything else. Knowing it's percentage based on HP is incredible.
Sense star is amazing for stealth, knowing where all your enemies are and what way they are facing is super useful to clean a whole enemy base undetected
Precognition has a way more useful effect than the just the dialogue thing, it also shows the path a target will walk. Pretty helpful for stealthy characters.
Yeah this is huge actually and it's too bad I didn't include this. Someone mentioned it works for quest characters and you can pull them to their destination faster which is also op, so I'd bump it up a rank for sure!
@@XaadeTheBlade sure! So interestingly enough if an npc has a target destination during a quest step you can run to that destination and it will force the npc to run to that spot rather than slowly trudge along and take minutes to get there. Precognition let's you know exactly where that spot is so it's quite helpful in that specific scenario for time saving
See Star Stuff is fantastic if you're doing anything stealth related. It's a must if you're trying to do the Ryujin missions full ghost. Also is good in dungeons to know what's ahead of you and very helpful in Entangled to see where the insect ambushes are.
You legend, thank you so much for this! I'm back now and have added these to the description for additional ease of access. Please take this cookie and a shotout in my pinned comment 🍪
Precognition not only shows dialog options, but also the way npc will go, if it some kind of quest NPC and you have to follow him to his destanation. So you can just use this power, run to the endpoint of his router and NPC will be forced to run till the end. It's saves alot of time for you.
Grav Wave is exremely useful when you are going up against Alien Beasts that charge you and attack at melee range. When they come at you all you need to do is hit the button and even the largest boss creature will fall down for a few moments.
Holy crap, I use Sense Star Stuff more often than anything else, including the oxygen one. You can see all your enemies, no matter where they're hiding. You can see them running around corners towards you. It's especially useful in levels with all those critters that are below ground and pop out at you, because Sense Star Stuff will show them IN THE GROUND. Or those levels where there's swarm critters, you can just see them all massed behind the corner, and get your minigun ready. To me, that power is S+++ at level 1. It's SO useful. I have it and Oxygen permanently hotkeyed.
First time I used reflective shield, it was against the multiple guardian spawns heading into the final area and one of the guardians murdered himself hitting me with his magshear. At least thats what I think happened because I wasn't shooting and my companion was down
The problem with star born powers is that they don’t feel all that useful compared to weapons. Mostly because they’re clunky to use. We need a quick action wheel for instant casting preset SB powers. Hold down the button and you can pick a power which casts immediately. This would let you chain different powers together.
Or simpler than that, just let us assign it to our "favorites" wheel. It is just a quick equip wheel anyway so connecting it to Starborn powers would be trivial.
@@ji3qu Skyrim has a mod that does that Joe asked for. It's a pain to setup, but once you have it, you just click whatever fast button and it auto-casts the ability or spell, including being able to hold the button down for shouts.
i dont see why more games dont use dying light's wheel mechanic. have each of the dpad buttons bring up a different wheel you select with the right stick. 4 wheels of 8 slots and you get 32 favorites instead of 12 and no more constantly going in and out of menus.
Phased time at rank 10 is the only power you will ever need. Elemental Pull is also very handy, and at rank 10 will fill your inventory with resources very quickly.
Elemental Pull has at least one fantastic use. When getting the artifacts fire it off and get all that sweet minerals and a couple blast with cutter and artifact is good to grab.
I wish Grav Dash was multi-directional. It would be cool to use it to strafe really quickly from side to side, or use it to create a lot of distance while moving backwards.
Yeah that would be a lot cooler if it was like Tracer's blink ability from overwatch, which lets you go in any direction. And maybe rather than getting longer dashes, you get more dashes that you can fire off consecutively. So if you wanted to go straight still as if it were grav dash, you still can do so by chaining multiple blinks together, or you can blinkdash in circles around your enemy like Tracer while shooting them. I'm sure modders will get to doing something similar one day
I would rate reactive shield a little higher because it is useful when you are taking a lot of fire from several different positions and one of your area of effect powers won't take out all your targets.
Same. The special starborn in the main quest are immune to most CC effects, so only buffs like Reactive Shield still worked. The damage reduction is quite noticeable.
Grav wave is decent if you combo it with other things. Mainly with mines and grenades. The physics engine in the game is so good, actually pretty easy to toss mines and knock back grenades
1:30 You can also just make a hard save after every successful temple... I got a bug where the temple did not spawn on a planet, reloaded before I got my new temple from Vlad, he sent me to a different planet with a temple, and then after that one I got sent to the previously bugged planet except this time the temple spawned.
Void form can be pretty powerful for snack builds, especially paired with chameleon suit or helmet mod. This means that while one doesn't work when moving, the other does. Alternatively, when one wears off from doing an action, the other stays in effect so long as crouched and not moving. For this reason they pair well together. Some of the other powers are very niche, as said in the video, bit when used they more than carry their own in that niche situation.
Was thinking about getting the Starborn Venator suit with a Chameleon effect so doing that+Voidform seems fun. Also, doesn't the stealth perk allow you to open doors and such without being revealed at its highest level?
@@Demon-. Towards your Stealth meter yes, it doesn't affect you being detected. Now, if you open the door and are visible and they see you, well that is a different story. I haven't been able to add certain stealth buffs to gear yet, but so far it isn't like older games where maxed stealth you can be right in front of them and not be detected.
Grav wave is good. Right at the end of your explanation you use it and it hits the first guy, but also travels pretty far knocking a person down in the back too. Its range is pretty far, lets you knock down a whole squad at once. Great for enclosed areas, hallways, or just any clumped up enemies. The shield is also really good for shotgun/melee builds as well. Really helps you get very close.
THANK YOU! I've been looking for exactly this for the last 2 days and literally no one has provided it. Also, I have to imagine Earthbound is S tier in the very niche situation that you are facing a ton of enemies in zero g. But otherwise, yeah totally its uses are limited.
My favorite power is Reactive Shield even though you gave it a low ranking. It has a long duration and soaks up a lot of damage over time. Normally I get instantly melted when I stand in front of multiple enemies on very hard. With Reactive Shield on they do like ~20%-25% of the damage they normally do.
I completely avoided the main quest line, completed the FC, SysDef, Vanguard, Ryujin, and probably something else I’m forgetting… just to find out there’s a whole set of skills locked behind progressing the main quest 🤦♂️
Thanks for the good info. I'm going to have to add my voice to the chorus on Sense Star stuff. Its amazing as trying to level up my sneak ability and to quiet through a whole outpost.
Thank you SO MUCH for this. I was just about to do the grind of NG+ and was wondering if this was even going to be worth the extra time involved. I plan on this being my only character so, in the long run, this is definitely worth it. THANK YOU!
I used void form recently, and I stayed invisible the whole time I was in a fight which kinda of made it about as simple as phased time does since enemies couldn't find me, but shot near my general direction. I'd also randomly get sneak attack damage because they couldn't fully detect me.
Sense Star Stuff is an invaluable tool when fighting starborn guardians. It disables their cloak ability, letting you zero in on them right away, plus it makes your follower home in easier on them too. Definitely a specific use power, I'd rate S-rank versus starborn.
Nice guide! A small note on Void Form tho: Concealment 3 breaks Void.Form (and Chamelion), basically killing 2 of your best stealth options. I expect it to be a bug, but Beth and bug fixing doing go well together.
What do you mean with breaking it? you cant cast it while you are concealed but when you void form while you are standing you can crouch and stand up an run all you want, void form will not be broken then. The only annoying thing is you cannot cast it anymore while crouched.
I had this issue in the Ryujin quest. I was crouched and had a chameleon item which made me invisible and as I was about to get up as an enemy approached I cast Void Form. Instead of maintaining invisibility as I stood up it just removed my current invisibility immediately alerting the enemy. This happened more than once because I play in first person mode and could not see it was making me visible. They really need to fix that.
I like how you go into great detail. Very informative. The only thing missing is the final screen showing all of them at once, and how you ranked them (like you did on your other videos).
I think Gravity Wave deserves a better score than D tier. In my experience it seems to be the only offensive power that isn't consistently resisted by higher tier named enemies.
I just did the vanguard mission line for the first time (on my first new game+ and on hard difficulty) and gravity wave was one of the most consistent powers I've used for fighting them. Those couple of seconds of knocking terrormorphs on their ass was amazing 😂
Sense star stuff is pretty much the only one I use, since I don't have void form yet (would have been very useful for ryujin tbh) and none of the others seem that useful for stealth sniper. Even when I get into direct combat, there isn't a case where any of the powers are better than just using a gun, but I suspect that the dash and shield could come in handy for my eventual melee build
Yo, so I had to share that the reactive shield power reflects bullets WITH EM damage when running an un-armed build with neurostrikes, basically enemies end up knocking themselves out and you can either stealth attack them or leave them unconscious.
I've not beat the game yet but I have seen people talk about this in general. Until yesterday I didn't even know what NG+ meant. But with that said, this is a nice tutorial on how the Starborn powers work and are received. Much appreciated Mumble.
Gravity Wave already feels OP at level 1. Handy way to immobilize the pesky and hard-to-see Starborn ambushing you, or Terrormorphs, so you can just pump them full of Pb or U.
Ya I don’t even bother upgrading them all since I use gravity wave parallel self and reactive shield in a rotation, also not tryna go on a tedious run over and over each Ng+ and plus that mini game is annoying. I didn’t even want to find all the different powers first run but pushed through it , when i saw you can upgrade them individually I was like NOPE getting the hunter amor and ship was enough grind for a single player game
I love using Sense Star Stuff for stealth or finding one straggling enemy in an area. Helped me find an enemy that was glitched into the ground once lmao
Wait it does? Is this confirmed? That’s the first power you get right? So you just activate it where everything is floating in the air and while that’s active you can fast travel while encumbered? If that’s true you just saved me so much time as I’m a meticulous looter Currently I just use personal atmosphere but that’s still a pain cus it only lasts 15 seconds and takes a while to recharge and if you’re deep in a dungeon or mine far from the NAT in new Atlantis or something can still take a while to get out. And if companions inventory is also full you just gotta run So someone please confirm I’ve got it right or am I getting the name of the ability mixed up with another one cus it doesn’t even make sense the one I’m thinking of would allow you to fast travel
From what I researched and tested, you should always save before you take a power quest. That way if it selects a non temple, you can reload before taking the quest.
Great advice, I've also noticed that talking to Vlad after doing 1 main quest temple mission in a ng+ cycle reduced my chances for bugged temples. It's quite a mess honestly
@@unclemumbleSpeaking of that, I’ve read even now people are reporting that on NG+, if you skip the main story it is messing up a lot of side quests for them. A lot of folks recommend doing the main story over. I am now in my first NG+ and I hadn’t gotten all the starborn powers because I got victimized by the Power From Beyond mission; it wouldn’t trigger the marker on Oberum so I got stuck. And being frustrated I said “to hell with it” and decided to finish the main story anyway because folks said whatever powers you didn’t succeed in getting, you can pick up in NG+. Some people though said you can’t. Others said you certainly can. I haven’t gotten far enough yet to Vladimir to check (I’m on the way now). My question is about Starborn ships though in NG+. Can you come across any other Starborn ships while exploring like you did in your first run? And can you steal them? If so, are they more powerful than your given Starborn ship you get after going through the Unity? 🤔 Thanks in advance.
Believe me, its way more usefull in agresive stealth or claustrophobic spaces, u can push ur mines and grenades, send back grenades, launch barrels, etc Its more a dirty fighting tool than a power by itself, for me its a B+ but deppends a ton on ur playing style
Elemental Pull also 'scans' what you harvest, a lot of Planets/Moons you can 100% by just landing on and casting the power without even moving. Must have if you're scanning planets.
@@Skalli10It's not uncommon to get over 200 weight of materials from a single cast of the skill at rank 10. My stats for Inorganics gathered is over 100k now and I don't even carry a cutter anymore.
I like the calm power, there doesn't seem to be a level limit like manipulation perk and it can get multiple enemies. It serves as oopsies button for stealth
When I did my first playthrough, Barrett died before I got his power, but on ng+ I was able to find it in a temple AND do his quest so I got it to rank 2 in ng+ from 0. Not sure if it was luck or an exception, but just thought I'd point it out.
You can double dip off Parallel Self off every NG+. My other powers are only 7, but Parallel Self is 10. As long as you pick up his quest you get two of Parallel Self. Wish it was random, but oh well.
One thing you overlooked in the application of Elemental Pull is how easy it makes completing a survey for a lot of planets. If the planet has no traits I can often land, exit my ship, cast elemental pull once and collect every resource on the planet. It still isn't the best method of collecting resources to use, but it is unparalleled when collecting resources to scan.
I upgraded all 24 powers all 10 times and it was sooo worth it. I really love using invisibility and shield the most as well as O2 generation I can run around overencumbered without incident
Thanks for the list and demos. I’d say the ranks are solid. Except for sense star stuff. It does have some combat utility in simply knowing what is coming. But it is MASSIVELY useful on stealth missions. Probably my most used ability honestly
Haha yeah I'm seeing a lot of folks backing SSS which is totally valid. I was pretty harsh on it despite it having a clear use case for stealth builds/anyone who doesn't want to manually search for enemies. If you're a stealth build user, void form is awesome and I find more playstyles altering which is fun!
@@bobrobrules That has nothing to do with Barret. You find that power easily when skipping main quest. But you seem to be correct as well - I haven't found it in my latest NG run where I did follow the main quest again.
The grav wave is S tier for your first game even at level one if you use a lot of landmines. Having a massive burst of area damage when raiding ships is just unbeatable early on. Imagine opening a cockpit door and grav waving a bunch of landmines into the room and instantly wiping them out.
I love using sunless space. It’s a great tool for pacifying enemies who are in cover. Throw it into a room, walk in, shoot the frozen enemy in the head until he dies.
My fav powers are Void Form, Grav Dash, Solar Flare, and Supernova for trash mobs, I sometimes use the other skills but those are my most used ones. I wish there was a separate favorite wheel for powers instead of having everything on one shared favorite hotkeys. But a lot of the other powers could use some buffs because most of them are just useless later game.
Bethesda is terrible at scaling. Oblivion where unarmed doesn't scale. Skyrim where unarmed doesn't scale. Starfield where unarmed doesn't scale. Skyrim where magic doesn't scale. Starfield where certain weapon classes don't scale. The only laser heavy weapons are the mining laser and the arc welder. None of the tools have higher tier classes. And when they do manage to scale anything, it usually gets overpowered, such as Skyrim smithing weapon improvements, resto loop, Starfield advanced tier weapons basically one shooting everything.
Great video... I have been using personal atmo, void form and star stuff way more regularly than I thought I would. I occasionally will see that I have a bunch of enemies grouped up behind a wall... then switch to antigrav and come around the corner with a shotgun and delete the whole group. I think Bethesda did a great job with these... maybe a handful that seem redundant and a a handful that need a tweak or cost reduction.
I think there may be some heavy playstyle bias. The powers you liked least are all super useful for stealth plays. Sense Star Stuff has been gone over in plenty of other responses, but I was just redoing Ryujin and again, I used it to get a sense of where the patrols were and were looking before opening doors/vents. Precognition will show you their patrol path which is awesome in some of the cramped areas especially - and can let you know if someone intends to move at all - no one wants to wait for a spotter who has no intention of patrolling. Which brings us to Gravity Wave - knocking items over away from you makes noise that enemies will go investigate. I used this when one stubbornly resisted Manipulation. Some of the other gravity spells register as attacks or call more attention to the cast. Anti-grav Field has the aggroing problem. Gravity Well can also sometimes work, but you need the NPC outside of its range or they stay on alert for way longer.
Very fair points! It's funny I just did the Ryujin stealth mission and just void form walked through everything. SSS is definitely awesome for stealth players but it's still not even close to as good as void form IMO, especially for stealth builds (you can shoot and not break VF too)
Powers can also be added to the favorites menu, so I don't personally have a problem with switching between 'em as needed. Was about to defend Precognition and Sense Star Stuff, but most the comments already have. No sense in adding to them. All I can say is thanks for bein' open to critique. Cheers!
I wish we could utilize the quantum essence to either give us the increased regen or level up our abilities to level 10 if we’re already at New Game +10. Just seems like a missed opportunity
@@eddiedead2702 Yeah, I barely use my quantum essence, seems like a waste to have it as a consumable. It should give a permanent buff to either max energy or regen.
I've figured out a consistent way to get all temples in each run. You will want to talk to Vladimir 3 separate times during the skip NG+. The first time is before collecting any of the artifacts, second being after you've collected everything and spoken to Sarah, lastly you can collect the rest after completing Revelation. You need to find Vladimir at the Lodge for the final missions. I'm on NG+ 8 and I've got 120 hours on that save. My most used power is Sense Star Stuff, which I reflexively use to check where the enemies are. It's super useful in finding Starborn, as they show up in blue rather than white.
@@Skalli10 There's one in Jemison. I don't want to spoil it if you don't know. There's also a Starborn merchant you can meet in space that sells legendary gear.
I can absolutely see Phased Time being great for pick pocketing. I hadn't used pick pocketing much in older BGS games unless needed but I am at lvl3 now and have most things; credits, ammo, meds around 70-80% with lvl4 boosting the % chance by 30%+ I will be able to take all the ammo and credits I want and being able to slow time I feel will be very powerful with threading the needle on the time that I'm "hidden" in order to swipe the goods.
With Gravity Wave I found it pretty useful for Starborne enemies you come across after temples, They do really high damage in a short burst. With gravity wave you can stun lock and kill them easily.

Thank you for this video. This reassures me that I am missing almost nothing for not upgrading my starborn power. Running 24 templed x 10 times is not my idea of fun.
Amazing guide but you're not considering best use cases for some of these. Moon form for example, is absolutely incredible when you have multiple gear pieces that drastically increase your damage while standing still. Also, inner demon is incredible at any stage, simply to give you time to heal, reload, change out weapons, get higher ground etc. Phased time is absolutely insane... especially if you have a crit heavy character. You also didn't mention if there's a duration difference in alien reanimation. It's my favorite power right now while farming level 75 planets on very hard.
Just finished my NG+ grind to max out my powers. My new favorite thing is to throw down a Gravity Well into a group of enemies, then immediately throw a Create Vacuum right on top of it. Basically puts any living creatures into a blender.
I have a teramorph on my ship because i reanimated it and then it glitched through the door when i went into my ship. So S+++ skill for alien reanimation. The only downside is I can never edit my ship again because it disappears when I do.
For me when using Phased Time if I try to open a door it'll bug the game where I'll be stuck in slow-mo, unable to shoot, sometimes stuck floating in the air, and have to reload a save prior to using the power.
Has nothing to do with opening the door. Reloading won’t help. You have to exit the game and the reload to workaround that bug. Otherwise it will appear non-stop.
Void form i have found if you use during combat you still go undetected allowing you to change your position or to sneak up on enemy positions i use this when facing a large group of enemy's as it has a low cost and allows you to move freely around the battle imo its easily an S tier skill for this reason

I really think they should change it so Vlad gives you multiple locations at a time instead of 1. Feels like you spend more time going back and forth to the Eye or The Lodge than you do exploring the planet to find the temple :(

Sense Star Stuff is amazing if you're doing a stealth sniper build. It lets you know where enemies are so you can more easily avoid being spotted. That and PRecognition's ability to tell you their patrol routes.
Yeah. It's very useful in stealth. Not /great/ in combat- but given how dark the game is, I've used it for that, too, lol!
To call what amounts to Greater Detect Life as D- tier is an egregious display of shittery. Uncle needs to git guud
Which is hilarious cause even if you run out of oxygen you dont die from just running.... so idk how thats s tier)
.o[
I accidentally used the anti gravity field in Neon on the edge of one of the catwalks (I usually have personal oxygen set cause I spend 90% of my time overencumbered) and all the citizens freaked tf out. Instead of running away from the 0 grav field they stampeded right for it, like sheep, up and over the catwalk barrier floating for a few seconds before exiting the edge of the field and falling into the ocean.
😂😂😂
Well I'm heading to Neon real quick lol
@seanlowrance9497 I stopped using powers because of that, I can´t understand they didn´t make a hotbar system for them. I always forget to equip the non combat power after a fight. Now I only use the personal oxygen thing .... and that´s it.

About void form. U can check containers without losing the stealth hability.
Example: There's a Gun Rack with a gun and two ammos. If u pick the ammo or the gun, you become visible.
But if you check the container for transfer and then pick all up, you remain invisible
Omg I need to try this. If it works... Game changing til! Thanks

The sensing stuff power is an amazing ability for stealth players, having the enemies exact location is never a bad thing
Same with precog, for stealth, shows projected enemy routes. Still meh, but not the worst
See Star Stuff is probably best used when boarding an enemy vessel so you can find and kill every enemy, especially since some vessels can be small rat mazes.
thanks, helped me a LOT :)
Thanks for your support! I'm glad to hear you found this helpful :)
Void form is amazing. It completely trivializes the Ryujin industries quest chain and since most of that chain can be done via speech and stealth, it is a solid first quest chain to do on NG+ to build up your credits and ammo supply
Thanks for the tip
also gives the stealth outfit as a part of a quest just by the end missions
Oh yeah, I just finished it earlier, I just spammed void form
You also get an upgrade to the manipulation perk everytime you do ryugin
Yeah, I did Ryujin after getting Void Form, on my first play through. My son had already done the Ryujin quest line, and had had to fight his way through a few parts, while I got to ghost on through with no problem.
It;'s worth pointing out, precognition will also show you where creatures are going to move to and where their attention is. this is incredibly useful for those stealth missions.
This power doesn't seem to work for me 90% of the time. Usually only robot show a path.
Seconded, Sense Star Stuff and Precognition used together made stealth missions a total breeze.
You I’m loving starfield right now and I’m excited for the update who do you think wins both endgame max everything the starborn or Dragonborn endgame
Knowing it's percentage based on HP is incredible.
based on HP? then I might have ridiculous damage cause I have been playing around after the tutorial missions leveling up and gathering goods.
@@unclemumble
Can you explain "pull them to their destination faster"
I don't see how it makes things walk faster...
@@XaadeTheBlade sure! So interestingly enough if an npc has a target destination during a quest step you can run to that destination and it will force the npc to run to that spot rather than slowly trudge along and take minutes to get there. Grav Wave is exremely useful when you are going up against Alien Beasts that charge you and attack at melee range. When they come at you all you need to do is hit the button and even the largest boss creature will fall down for a few moments.
Yep. Early on, it's the best single target CC skill. Doesn't get outshone until much later.
@@r3dp9 yeah it also has a relatively low power cost so it will recharge faster than other powers you might use in the same situation.
Yup, I used it all the time for a lot of the game.
Nice list. I also like the Star Stuff one the most, makes it easy to find all enemies hiding behind cover
For real because a lot of the time I tend to have a really hard time locating bad guys. Being able to see their location would be incredibly helpful.
First time I used reflective shield, it was against the multiple guardian spawns heading into the final area and one of the guardians murdered himself hitting me with his magshear. At least thats what I think happened because I wasn't shooting and my companion was down
Void form is great because it lets u run while maintaining stealth as well
The problem with star born powers is that they don’t feel all that useful compared to weapons.
@@ji3quyou can already do that
@@ji3qu
Skyrim has a mod that does that Joe asked for.
You can tie powers to your wheel and carry less guns in there. Pick a shotty, melter smg, pistol or scoped rifle and fill the rest with powers

I'm sure modders will get to doing something similar one day
Easy fix?
Make it execute a booster boost with increased distance that doesn't cost fuel.
Then you get multidirectional built in.
Honestly gravity wave works really well in the lower levels, especially when you’re getting attacked by somebody with a high dps
Concealment perk gives the Chameleon effect. You really don’t need it on armor.

He's using it on planets too it's brutal in zero gravity environments
THANK YOU! I've been looking for exactly this for the last 2 days and literally no one has provided it. Also, I have to imagine Earthbound is S tier in the very niche situation that you are facing a ton of enemies in zero g. But otherwise, yeah totally its uses are limited.
I love fighting in low-g so I'd almost never want to use it because it's so fun for me 😅
My favorite power is Reactive Shield even though you gave it a low ranking.
There's simply too much to explore!

Agreed, I find many enemies will resist anti-gravity field but then get knocked on their ass from gravity wave
I just did the vanguard mission line for the first time (on my first new game+ and on hard difficulty) and gravity wave was one of the most consistent powers I've used for fighting them. Those couple of seconds of knocking terrormorphs on their ass was amazing 😂
Gravity wave is busted and my go-to for combat.

Gravity wave is one of my go to power ability, you knock enemies down and unload on their asses and it cost 25 power rinse and repeat. 🎉
Awesome video, really appreciate your contributions to the Starfield community!
14:00 sense star stuff is sooooo helpful for stealth missions, like the corporate quest line ones though
Yo, so I had to share that the reactive shield power reflects bullets WITH EM damage when running an un-armed build with neurostrikes, basically enemies end up knocking themselves out and you can either stealth attack them or leave them unconscious.
That's a fortunate bug.

Glad your edit upgrades SSS. It's amazing to clear out camps and to see where enemies are to plan your assault
Earthbound has a niche use in zero grav where it allows you to deal sneak attack damage in builds reliant to the concealment tech tree.
I’ve also found that Earthbound is extremely good for gun fights in zero gravity for characters that are speced into ballistic weapons.
Also, if you are low on health whilst boarding a ship you can cast this and sleep in a bed to replenish HP (you can't sleep in a bed in zero G).
After finishing Ryujin quest and getting the free Manipulation perk i just do that on the starborn and play with them a bit
I love using Sense Star Stuff for stealth or finding one straggling enemy in an area. Helped me find an enemy that was glitched into the ground once lmao
Anti-grav field also allows you to fast travel while encumbered.
Anti-grav does but not Personal Atmosphere? Weird, but I'll take it.
Wait it does? Is this confirmed? That’s the first power you get right?
So you just activate it where everything is floating in the air and while that’s active you can fast travel while encumbered? If that’s true you just saved me so much time as I’m a meticulous looter
Currently I just use personal atmosphere but that’s still a pain cus it only lasts 15 seconds and takes a while to recharge and if you’re deep in a dungeon or mine far from the NAT in new Atlantis or something can still take a while to get out. And if companions inventory is also full you just gotta run
So someone please confirm I’ve got it right or am I getting the name of the ability mixed up with another one cus it doesn’t even make sense the one I’m thinking of would allow you to fast travel
I just tried this and it definitely did not, is there a limit to how over encumbered you can be or something?
Haven't tried it yet but I know you can't fast travel while in the air.
Why play this game? Its really eh
Much appreciated breakdown. I didn't know there were so many. Why do you have a towel on your back?
When I did my first playthrough, Barrett died before I got his power, but on ng+ I was able to find it in a temple AND do his quest so I got it to rank 2 in ng+ from 0. Not sure if it was luck or an exception, but just thought I'd point it out.

The grav wave is S tier for your first game even at level one if you use a lot of landmines. Having a massive burst of area damage when raiding ships is just unbeatable early on. Imagine opening a cockpit door and grav waving a bunch of landmines into the room and instantly wiping them out.
That's some big brain energy.
I love using sunless space. It’s a great tool for pacifying enemies who are in cover. Throw it into a room, walk in, shoot the frozen enemy in the head until he dies.

Cheers!
The knockdown is super useful on tougher fights, so I would say it's C tier not D tier
Holy shit this was incredibly well done. You got a new sub for sure
I wish we could utilize the quantum essence to either give us the increased regen or level up our abilities to level 10 if we’re already at New Game +10. Just seems like a missed opportunity
Quantum essence to level up is a great idea!
Wish it could be used to increase your power bar. Not being able to increase it is a strange choice.
@@eddiedead2702 Yeah, I barely use my quantum essence, seems like a waste to have it as a consumable. It should give a permanent buff to either max energy or regen.
Thanks for testing this stuff! Saves me so much time brother lol.
Phased Time is the single best power there is, and you don't even need to go to temples to upgrade it
i love see star stuff. wall hacks is nice for stealth. also some of these fauna for surveying are tiny.
Thanks for a solid video! An overview of your rating of all powers at the end would be helpful, similar to how you're rating skills :)
I've only gotten 4, so I'm going to hold off on watching this video. But thanks!
Always wondered. Are there maybe other Starborn NPCs around in town? Never really used that power.
@@Skalli10 There's one in Jemison. I don't want to spoil it if you don't know. There's also a Starborn merchant you can meet in space that sells legendary gear.
@@mfvicli Yea, met that one a couple of times. Good to know! No spoilers for me, I’m 200 hours in and way beyond my tenth NG run :)
I'd think this combined with void form and you'd be golden.
With Gravity Wave I found it pretty useful for Starborne enemies you come across after temples, They do really high damage in a short burst. With gravity wave you can stun lock and kill them easily.
Lol how did you miss the main use of precondition? The conversation aspect is secondary and just a bonus. The skill let's you see enemy patrol patters
Played the RYujin quest with void form and sense star stuff, No detection whatsoever. Ultimate stealth method
I have around 60 hours in the game, have collected around half the available powers, and I only just realised there is a menu that you can view/change them... I don't think i've used my power once during my first playthrough
very comprehensive list thank you for making this
Thank you for your sacrifice im on Ng++ im trying to get the final star born suit and i was going to max out powers too but it became Monotonous after the 2nd run. hopefully they patch in another way to max out powers i think mods will block achievements like Skyrim.
There's a mod that keeps mods from making you ineligible for achievements.
I'm about to hit ng+5 I'm depressed..started skipping powers and almost burned out do not recommend if you like the game... using essence to level powers would be nice
@@Udkm1993I have 1 day and 18 hrs. Just finished my first playthru. Most people are doing this stupidly, or not roleplaying in an RPG.
@flakkakut1656 played and completed every single quest line.. spent millions on ships, used 0 glitches.. played a clean run.. now going ng+ but I've stopped at ng+5 fk the powers . Barely use em anyway.. ship caps out at +6 anyway
Great points!
And it’s a free health heal power apparently
Just finished my NG+ grind to max out my powers. My new favorite thing is to throw down a Gravity Well into a group of enemies, then immediately throw a Create Vacuum right on top of it. Basically puts any living creatures into a blender.
I have a teramorph on my ship because i reanimated it and then it glitched through the door when i went into my ship. So S+++ skill for alien reanimation. The only downside is I can never edit my ship again because it disappears when I do.
Subscribed. Good info in this guide.
Welcome aboard!
For me when using Phased Time if I try to open a door it'll bug the game where I'll be stuck in slow-mo, unable to shoot, sometimes stuck floating in the air, and have to reload a save prior to using the power.
Just sit on a chair or sleep instead
Has nothing to do with opening the door. Reloading won’t help. You have to exit the game and the reload to workaround that bug. Otherwise it will appear non-stop.
Void form i have found if you use during combat you still go undetected allowing you to change your position or to sneak up on enemy positions i use this when facing a large group of enemy's as it has a low cost and allows you to move freely around the battle imo its easily an S tier skill for this reason
Yup 100% a slept on power
Now they just need to actually fix & improve unarmed / melee. Then I'll be able to fully immerse myself into Space Skyrim.
It's so unfortunate how bad melee is, neurostrikes is absolute ass :(
@@unclemumble Agreed, plus there's no directional attacks or melee finishers like in Fallout 4. I wanted to be able to punch, toss, and kick people in space.
