If anyone ran into the issue of exporting the video and the captions are absent on the final video don't forget to change the caption option to "burn into video" in the export settings
Finally had a video to try this out on. Interviewed a bunch of different people in short clips. Some of the transcriptions are funny, so I'm having a laugh while fixing them. It does a great job making all of those clips, so that alone is saving me sooo much time! Thank you for this video Gal!
Hey, Gal! I just LOVE how you make your videos! Right to the point, efficient solutions and how-tos, great editing and styling! Keep up the good work! Thumps up!!
Have been using this for a while now with my reels. Love it! A lot better than what they were using years ago. Hoping that we will be able to use effects and transitions on captions in the near future.
Thank you for the many valuable lessons from the video on how to make captions in Premiere Pro, especially for those who are still learning. Once again, thank you...
Hi Gal! Your videos are the best!!! Please can you explain, if don´t did before.. an video about the each subtitles and captions and the correct way of do it.
Can you talk to the Adobe team and ask if they can implement the effect, where each word will be highlighted as you speak? I guess most us already saw this text styling on Instagram/Tik-Tok videos. Thanks for you videos, Gal.
There are apps that can do that on your phone right now. But I hope we can make a script that can do this in Ae or Pr, I'll investigate. In the meantime, I'm sure Adobe is seeing comments like this :)
Great tutorial I am having trouble getting my background and style to translate over to an SRT file upon export Does this method only work for captions that are burnt into the video?
This is great, thanks @Premiere Gal for the walkthrough. Love the direction Adobe is going with these features, but I do have some suggestions: 1. re: text background drawing. Reels and tikok draw ONE background shape around the perimeter of all lines. all one consistently curved and connected shape. The "per-line" + padding technique demonstrated by Premire Gal here is good, and very close! But, it's still a workaround. would be good to get the real thing from Adobe as a formal setting. 2. Word-by-word captioning. the ability to caption based on number of words not just number of characters. This is a very popular fast-paced captioning style. 3. Font / styling consideration on caption generation. Notice how @Premiere Gal set captions to cover 2 lines, yet several of them appear in 3, which she then had to go in and manually adjust. This is because Premiere calculates caption-length in isolation from true pixel-width of rendered text. For true pixel length accuracy, you must take into consideration font and styling. Why not do this by default? instead of characters per line, maybe it's "% of frame-width per line." 4. access to per-word timecode data. The fact that clicking a word in the transcription jumps the playhead to that point in the timeline perfectly tells you that per-word timecode data is indeed captured by Premiere! But you can't actually access it as an end user. "Export to CSV" gives you timecoded BLOCKS of text. This one may be in the weeds, but for advanced scripting and automation purposes, having access to frame-accurate, per-word transcription timecode would be very powerful. If you agree with any of these, I also added them to an "idea" post on the community forum. Upvoting may help it get to the product team. community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-ideas/4-requests-for-the-captioning-and-transcription-features-in-premiere/idi-p/13364705
Agree with all of these! As for 4. You can export the captions as a .srt file with time code data, if that will work in the interim? Is that what you meant by time code? :) Love these insights. This is exactly the type of suggestions we should be giving. Really great stuff 🎉
@@PremiereGal Re: 4, really just having access to ALL the data premiere generates when you click transcribe, which would include exact in / out timecode for each word in the transcription. Practically speaking, this would just be a more detailed csv, or json file. Like I said, it may be a bit niche, but useful for scripting.
hello ive been trying to find out how you edit the substitles how you had it on the beginning of the video where it would get highlighted in yellow as you spoke the word
Thanks for the informative video. I have a problem with The Text layer preferences. I haved chosen "per-line" like you instructed but the result stayed the same with the caption. it only work for the text layer which was created by the Type Tool (T). Please help. Many thanks.
Do you have a video on being able to create that live transcription style of CCs that Instagram has as a preset option? Or would this require after effects?
Random question. What does it mean when you say "This video was sponsored by Envato". How exactly do they sponsor your video? Do they pay your time, making this video or how does it work?
Love your videos!! Can you have the background color per word instead of per line? The captions app makes the background follow per word. I wish premiere could do that.
What I'd love to see is if there's a way to indicate where you want the text to be separated before converting the transcript into captions. Does anyone know if it's currently possible to do this?
I am looking your video showing how to convert English to difference languages and if you don't have it, can you make one please?. I also want to get rid of the existing caption and replace it with different language into the video. Thank you!
Hi, thanks for your videos. They are really helpful. I have the problem that I don't have the option to import a translated transcript as a text file in a new project. The menue is deactivated. But in other projects it works. I couldn't figure out what I've done differently. But I'm at the very beginning with Adobe.
Hi i have a doubt regarding premiere pro codec. Apple quick time player is already installed in my pc. Can you suggest any other codecs software for premiere pro like alternative for quick time player
Thanks @Premiere Gal...Actually you can animate the captions by converting them to be like Graphics and that will allow you to add animations like it was before...
I am new to all of this. I could not find how to add colours to my library. Actually I could not find how to add anything to my library. Do you have another video explaining this?

They give she a free PERMIUM ENVATO plan.

informative 10mins.
A work around to put transitions on your captions. Convert the captions yup text layers, then you can do it.
Thank you! My Daddy is learning how to do this for my UA-cam Channel! 🙂
Can you please do a video on how yo create the text effect you used in the start of the video,in which the the white text color changing to yellow

If you go to Graphics and Titles > 'Upgrade captions to graphics' they become titles which you can then add transitions to
So how do you get back to adjust the maximum letters or gaps. You mentioned you can get back to that but I'm not finding how you can go back.
Thank you ....... again.
💯 Extremely Helpful. Thank you so much for this 🙏
