    I've looked for videos showing how each word comes in one at a time, thinking it was some sort of effect on premiere. But nope, looks like it's about an hour extra of work 😅. But worth it. Thanks for showing that!

    I hate that word for word is so meticulous. Premiere is literally already doing it in text-based editing when it highlights the word that you're on. Why can't they just convert it into word based cuts?

    • @ThisGuy
      @ThisGuy  Рік тому

      They will soon I'm sure...but I guess while most of the mobile platforms were built to do that as their main purpose, Premiere/Davinci/Final Cut were not, and are now playing catch-up to add these things in, so that they work well...???

    Great video! Change color of one word at a time, for example, looks SUPER tedious. Capcut has auto-captions and automatically fades in and out each word without any work at all. Does Premiere Pro have an auto animation feature where it automatically fades in or changes the color of each word as you say it? (Without you having to manually slice your own captions and listen for each word?)

  • @kingraptor11
    @kingraptor11 5 місяців тому

    Premiere ITSELF uses a karaoke effect in the editor to show you the exact word/sentence you are working on in the transcript, but they don't let you apply a style to the current word in the captions? Baffles me how undeveloped captions are

    This is too much work.
    Premiere should look into this to be done automatically. They do it when you review the transcript in its dedicated window. So the technology is there already. They must incorporate in the subtitle part as well.

    • @ThisGuy
      @ThisGuy  Рік тому

      They are playing catch-up for sure. But I'm sure they just want to implement these things properly, to work well in Premiere. Whereas the mobile ones were built to do it as their main thing. If the mobile ones work for your workflow already, just use them...? They don't work for what I do, so I will wait for Premiere to keep evolving.

    gosto de suas opções, mas ainda é muito trabalhoso, o Descript faz isso automático. Imagino que a adobe use o serviço de transcrição da azure, e eles enviam no json o tempo de cada palavra, isso deveria ser uma "flag" para fazer automático, espero que a adobe olhe para isso.

    For word-by-word sentence coming out, you can try masking the text from the opacity panel using a rectangluar mask to cover the enitre text. Kefyframe 1: width of the rectangle=0 (before the first word is spoken), Keyframe 2: full width of the rectangle (when the last word is spoken).

    surely there has to be a easier way... you say "no keyframing" but you might as well be, ur just splitting the strip into 17 different pieces, might as well be individual keyframes...
    There must be a procedural system... even capcut on my phone can do captions better than premiere... 🤔

      @@ThisGuy yeah sorry, that comment was quite aggressive, sorry about that.
      The best I’ve found is using one of adobes preset captions, then copy pasting its attributes onto my captions… but it has mixed results, as a lot of attributes don’t actually get copy pasted over properly.
      That and changing for the captions are generated by loading the minimum words and letters resulting in shorter 1-2 word captions… but still… ugh, adobe why 😭🤦‍♂️

    There has to be a better way to do this. Creating a 21 min video will take you forever to do to the karaoke style

      There are plugins, but nothing natively to Premiere Pro at this point (that I'm aware of). What type of video are you making that requires karaoke style captions for 21 minutes?

    Thank goodness for SubMachine, coz for any video more than 5 seconds, there's no way I'm messing a about with these techniques, I often do 1 min shorts with subtitles, would get old very quickly.

    I wonder if you could have set both the minimum characters and minimum time to their lowest values instead of manually breaking them into separate captions?

    • @ThisGuy
      @ThisGuy  2 місяці тому

      I explain how to do that and what it looks like in the video I mention at the start. The difference in this video is that all these examples have multiple words on the screen at all times. Doing it the way you suggested is also good, but then there's only one word on the screen at a time.

    Do it manually it is just a waste of time. Capcut doing same effects automatically in no time.

    Great video, I will be using this to practice forsure. One tip that you might already be aware of, You don't need to listen for the dialogue anymore to make cuts. You can transcribe it in the beta version of premiere pro and jump to each word in your captions in the Text window. Hope that helps mate, cheers!
