In this video, Martin goes over how we crab in the San Juans in our Ranger Tug R27ob, what kind of pots we use, what kind of bait, and how deep we set our pots. We caught some big ones over 7 1/4 inches.

Thanks for watching!!
Just watching you getting some crab.
@@seanchambers8950 If you like the crabbing video's, you'll probably like the shrimp'n video's as well. Puget Sound Spot Prawns is by far, our favorite fishery.

I forgot the video where you talked about your portable pump out but I like the information about it or a video. Thanks
Portable pump out? I'm not sure what you're referring to.
Gonna have to try crabbing in some deeper water now - "same amount of crab, just a lot less people" ✔
I was out of Everett a few weeks back. The commercial tribe was out crabbing. I watched them with binoculars pull up dozens of crab in a pot in 200' of water. I don't know how long they soaked the pot. But it was full of crab.
Hi great video and I learned a LOT!
I was wondering about foggy conditions. Do you not go out in fog or do you sound off a fog horn in it or how do you handle fog conditions?
Thanks for watching!! We have radar and AIS onboard. During fog we just have to go a lot slower usually. Last year, we spent an enormous amount of time in the fog. We also had the smoke from all the wildfires last year during shrimp season. Most of this video was filmed in the fog/smoke. ua-cam.com/video/5bMSvqCvIeI/v-deo.html
@@Letsgochannelsurfing A friend and I went out in fog and did fine with our radar. But One of the other people in our group that didn't have radar and they tied off to the end of the pier to wait out the fog to lift. When it did lift, he realized he was tied off to the narrows bridge. lol
Thank for the reply and for the heads up on the video. I'll have a look at it.

@@Letsgochannelsurfing Thanks for the smoke one. That looked crazy! Like a high fog and almost like being int the middle of the Pacific on a cloudy day. Thanks again! See you int the next video.
