  • A quick video describing the basic DIY required to make your own origo stove pan holders, not gimbals as I keep saying lol. Basically copied what origo themselves sell but at a drastically reduced price.
    Parts required
    25mm stainless box section
    4mm stainless rod 300mm long.
    4mm stainless thumbscrews.
    No need for 316 or A4 stainless. A2 is adequate.

    Thanks for that. Ive removed my gas cooker and all the associated stuff. Saved so much space and much safer. Gas bottle, container for gas bottle and drain, pipework, bubbler, shutoff valve etc...The Origo is not available, but there is a copy available. Followed your info and made my own. Cheers. Also liked how you updated your boat.

      Gas & boats has never seemed a good idea to me when their are alternatives that work more or less as well.

    Fitting out my boat and up comes your video - much thanks
    One question : what is the horizontal rail section?
    And well done and thanks

      That horizontal rail (that the holders are fitted onto) is part of the Origo stove.

    Yep. You are absolutely spot on with this. I did pay the completely over the top price for the Origo gimbals - but I am certainly not going to pay £70 each for the pot holders. Nice job.

      I prefabricated the gimbals too. Anything 'marine' seems to be a rip off. I think they believe us boat owners are all rich!

    Hi great video, could you tell me, how long the rods are for each gimbal, thanks Steve

      @robertmann8895 Рік тому

      Not a gimbal, pot holders. Look at parts list (300mm rods)

      Hi I nearly made a set myself, I tapped the hole to high in the pot holder, I'll turn it round and tap a hole in the other side, keep up the good work 👍

    How did you bend the rods so precisely? Would braising work? I don't have a welder or a shop

    • @AndysEastCoastAdventures
      @AndysEastCoastAdventures  3 роки тому +2

      Just bent them in a vice, it bends fairly easily. Braising should work OK.
