Perhaps Joe C. agreed with this hire knowing that BV is going to be there only one more year. BV has rolled the dice and hopefully luck is on his side.. OU would be better off with an experienced OC with SEC familiarity ( no matter how much it costs ). Good luck to us. Go sooners.
Sir you have a lot of valid points! But if Brent knows this is his last chance and that’s his pick just support him in it. People are gonna say what they want just like you are now!
Great takes J.H. thru Ben's lens.biggest for me is Ben's Uber coming ups humble and hungry much like BVs Salinas sect.8 days as he relayed in early days.legit street grit maybe in young pup Ben boxes seem checked and with apologies to RC The hirings alone by Joe C largely defuse your critique and from the receipts sounds like Ben's "developed"to me/ ready to unleash. Let's GO!!
A Mountain West guy, huh? Wow. The SEC will be really impressed and just lay down for OU with this guy. The 3 year rebuild under Venables just went to 6 years didn't it. Keeping the existing offensive staff? The Bob and Joe clown show continues. 45 million contract extension you say.
@@PatBrooks-u6w the game changes and evolves. If you put Leach exact system in right now, we'd be terrible. And Mangino, well he obviously hasn't had a job in forever. Watch other teams from time to time.
One thing I havent heard in examining Arbuckle, is the difference there will be in the talent and recruiting power he will have at OU....he should be able to much more with OU than those he has coached.....he has a Ferrari here.
Yes, and Ben will not operate in a vacuum. To be competitive the offensive line will need to block, recievers will need to run accurate routes, and catch the ball; or as Brent likes to say: "complementary football" on both sides of the ball. If not we will fail.
I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. Of course, I gave Litrell the benefit, too. I like that he said that he tailors his offense based on his personnel and not just a system guy. He better just tear up that non-con next year, though, or he's gonna lose me early.
No chester I didn't miss that, do you remember the in game decisions and play calls. We lost to Kansas and OSU our last games. Was that from good play calls
@@johnrobbinson7081 yes he lost us Kansas yep no doubt let's see uh hmm the rest were on BVs defense those years heh. Let's not forget sadly Beville played 2 games so throw thise out. Oh the great Marvin Mims dropped 3 wide open tds that cost 2 games. Ah yes I remember
Excellent analysis JH & BC.
Good luck Ben, I wish you nothing but the best. I hope your meteoric rise continues. You have my support!
BV better win 9 next year or he needs to go .
Nice podcast guys

@@fast-one3871 you do know our best OC in ages came from East Carolina, correct?
@@soonertee No, Leach and Mangino were the best OCs.
@PatBrooks-u6w finally someone with a brain so sick of theses 2015ers acting like we were bad in the 2000-03 era

@@soonertee That was the Big 12, not the SEC and Riley worked for Leach at TT. Stoops wanted a Leach offense. Old history.
All we need is a top 50 offense

I haven’t made it all the way through the video, but WSU ran the ball more than they threw it.
Thx!

Josh Calloway was pretty good, what happened.
Ryan so what hire would have made you happy?
But you still talked bad about Lebby.
Mark Andrew’s was tE
We had crap play callers for three years now. You guys are a trip. Tell me who we could have got that is the next Lunciln rowdy
Did you miss that Lebby had top 5 offense both years? Hmm yeah bout that eh

Always and forever we lost against scrubs for our last big 12 games
I hate when the Sooners lose. I don't ever want it to happen again 😂
