Dear Tomo Fujita! I've never commented on UA-cam before, but now I think that I should. I'm a kind of intermediate guitar player searching for the path to become a professional guitarist. A month ago I've found your youtube channel, watched almost every video on it, and I felt like that I found a philosophy that can make me a better musician. I have been learning and playing guitar and bass since the late 80’s by tablature only but your video lessons are the only ones that i’ve been able to follow and learn without using tablature. No wonder you’ve been voted as best guitar instructor so many times by guitar magazine. There are many instructors who have a lot of knowledge but they aren’t good at communicating it to the people they’re trying to teach. So not only are you super knowledgeable and gifted, you have the best ability to explain that knowledge and techniques to the people you are teaching. You’re ability to communicate is what really sets you apart. Thank you 🙏 for all the lessons and all you do for so many beginners and even old timers like myself. I also share your videos to many of my friends who have also been playing for many years and they can’t believe how easy you make it. Keep up the great work 😎👍👍

Dear Tomo Fujita, I love your video so much! But I have problem visualising the scale over the fretboard. Could you share some practices which can improve visualising scales 🙏🙏🙏
As a lifetime pianist I find a layer of interpretation is required when playing the guitar and it slows me down. When I look at a piano I can see every note, and every chord/inversioin instantly. When I hold a chord in the 5th position on a guitar, I have no idea what im playing until I analyze it for 10 minutes. Same with triads. I can grab a functional triad on a guitar and if you ask me what inversion and key it is, give me 7 minutes and I'll let you know. This is why I struggle. And I've been playing guitar for 15 years.
Hi Tomo, Could you make a video (here or on guitar wisdom I don't mind :) ) on scales practice routine/excercises ? I love what you are doing around minute 7:30 for example. I am practicing major scale following guitar wisdom but I feel I could be more productive with some routine amied at learing the scales all over the freatboard and beeing able to freely move vertically, horizontally and diagonally. PS Do you need someone to add italian subtitles to your content?
Hi Tomo master good day I have one question seems a dumb one but please help , I do all the scales but what do I gain from that the end result , I can do rythem looking @ some note , please help me why do we go through all the scales what’s beyond that , thank you very much ash
This is where double stops start to make sense playing two notes on different strings and triads all built up of note in scales and all scales sound different
There’s 7 notes in the major scale (do, re, mi…). The major pentatonic uses only 5 of those, by removing the 4th (fa) and 7th (to) which sound jarring if not used correctly. The major pentatonic is therefore a simplification of the major which can be played over all the chords in a C major chord progression. The 4th and 7th can be used to add more flavour if used correctly.
tomo as i request earlier that please breakdown jimi hendrix songs and please that would be great if you'll teach us arpeggios also.. whenever you feel you can put that video please, and thanks for this lesson.

I actually bought the AZES40 with the tremelo and absolutely love it. However, The only downside to this guitar is that it comes stock with a cheap plastic nut. Even Squier is making bone nuts standard in most of their guitars and Yamaha is making GraphTech nuts standard on most of their Pacifica models for good tuning stability. This is especially important for tremelo equipped guitars and the fact that they are only about a $5.00 item, there’s NO EXCUSE for Ibanez to not put them on a guitar they’re branding as “essentials”. Because there’s nothing more essential than tuning stability. I know many players would be more than willing to pay 5 bucks more for the overall price of this guitar to have better tuning stability with the tremelo. As knowledgeable as you are, i’m really shocked you didn’t push Ibanez to put a better quality nut on this guitar for much better tuning stability since it’s such an inexpensive item for a guitar labeled as “Essentials”. Other than that, this is a fantastic guitar especially for such a low price. I especially love the one piece output jack you designed and the smooth rounded saddles you suggested for the tremelo. There really isn’t a better guitar you can buy for only $349.00. But i will be removing the cheap plastic nut and replacing it with a GraphTech nut like i have on my Yamaha Pacifica.
@@TomoFujitaMusic I absolutely love the switching system on this guitar and the pickups have great tone on the clean channel and also on high gain and distortion for rock and metal. This amazing guitar is all you need to play any genre of music you want with amazing tone overall. So i have no plans to replace the pickups because they are perfect as they are. I’ll let you know if the tone is effected once i replace the plastic nut with the GraphTech nut. I have already replaced the stock string trees with GraphTech ones and this has already helped improve the tuning stability of the tremelo. Lastly, i just wanted to say that these are very minor and inexpensive upgrades for any guitar and that the rest of what you’ve designed is better than many other guitars in the $800.00 to $1,000.00 range and has definitely become my favorite guitar in my collection.
@@TomoFujitaMusicP.S, besides the plastic nut, theres nothing else not to love about this guitar. Fantastic neck profile and fretwork as well. This guitar is just as good as a $1,200.00 Fender once the plastic nut is replaced.
Can someone help me? I went on the guitar wisdom website and read through the initial page. There it said it's not good to learn scales by shape. But pretty much every other instructor says to learn shapes. Also, I've been working on memorizing the fretboard for a couple months almost. I mean my confusion after watching Tomo is that it's not necessary to learn the scales but learn by ear/feeling? Like I don't have to memorize the fretboard?
Easy way to say "Memorize this!" as shapes. It's harder to teach good ways! I pointed out all the details at my Guitar Wisdom! Please join my Guitar Wisdom. I teach everything there! Only $9.99 a month subscription video lessons so all you have to do is skip one lunch a month!
My issue is, I understand that connections are being made between the major and minor… but I’m not understanding HOW the connections are made( if that makes any sense) like how you move from the cmajor to a minor i know its all the same notes being played but it’s clearly making a different sound whixh confuses me
Okay. Do it super slow! Just one string! Play Major scale then can you make it as minor scale? M3 to m3, M6 to m6, M7 to m7. 3 places to change. Super slowly! Please take your time!
Guitar is hard. On a piano you just have to smash all the white notes for C major! But on guitar the pattern doesn't change for a different major key! Piano is hard.
Guitar is supposed to be easy... but if you discover more than you needed it...then it becomes so difficult but there is no end! Fun last forever!! I love it!!
@@TomoFujitaMusic I completely agree! It's fun to start, but you can go as deep as you want. I love theory now, but when I was a kid I just wanted to play songs.

ua-cam.com/video/oqupfx616hM/v-deo.html
There’s 7 notes in the major scale (do, re, mi…). The major pentatonic uses only 5 of those, by removing the 4th (fa) and 7th (to) which sound jarring if not used correctly. The major pentatonic is therefore a simplification of the major which can be played over all the chords in a C major chord progression. The 4th and 7th can be used to add more flavour if used correctly.

Thank you for sharing. How did it effect your tone? I didn't notice anything that part. I love the tone! Thank you!
@@Xcorgi So happy to hear that! Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for sharing! Yes!

@@TomoFujitaMusic so its not an actual especial edition?
@@jacobmiller3427 I'm a year late, but i ncase others see this: my "complete edition" has it at page 60
Everything will take some time. Please watch more Music Theory section (24 video lessons!) You will get this in a few weeks.
@@TomoFujitaMusic Thanks
Hi sir tomo, what string gauge do you use?
D'Addario EXL110 (10-46) Thanks!
16:01 I hope you talk too much Mr.Fujita :v. Love the lesson
Thanks!
Don't think shapes! Feel, think about inversions!
Please watch this video! (Super Simple Series)

It is strange. It always comes back to the C Major scale when learning a new instrument.
And because Piano it is all white keys in C-major scale.
When you start talking about 3rds on the fret . I always get lost. I don't know why. 😕
You just need to learn basic music theory super slow! Just intervals.
This video is easier.

Yes!
