'New Chandigarh' is a new planned smart city near Mullanpur in Mohali district (Punjab), India. The city has been designed as an extension of the Madhyamarg of Chandigarh, spreading over 27 Sectors. It is developed by the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority. Ecocity I and II are the main residential townships developed by GMADA in New Chandigarh, spread over 806 acres in the foothills of the Shivalik Hills. Recently, new cricket stadium constructed here opened for IPL matches. The approved master plan for New Chandigarh Mullanpur Local Planning Area includes several special development projects to be undertaken in future by GMADA.
