Merci pour cette vidéo-test pour les denali D4.0 qui me confirme que j’ai bien fais de les commander pour les installer sur la BMW R1200 GS LC 2018 ! Encore merci pour ce partage de vidéo !
I just ordered via Twisted Throttle the complete set of D4s 2.0, DM 2.0, soundbomb, B6 run/brake light and CANSmart. You had me convinced after watching your demo. However, I am planning to change either the DMs 2.0 or the D4s to yellow lens for daytime conspicuity/visibility as where I lived, too many distracted drivers...lol thanks again for sharing the video. By the way, that exhaust note sounds really sounds good, coming riding Harley's, I think I want some peace and quiet this time, who knows, time will tell.
Thank you, Im sure you are enjoying the Denali setup that you purchased and the yellow lens is a nice option. The aftermarket exhaust that sounds more like a dirtbike with no baffles in it is only good for the note,. Lol The stock exhaust is better for touring.
I know you dont have this bike anymore. But should check out Diode Dynamics. I run a baja designs pro for main headlight and for high beam i run the diode dynamics. Great lights. The song....i see for miles and miles....comes to mind.
Thank you for this review... realy good info... i have the r1200gs 2018 with the tft ... and i m gonna put this kit D4 and cansmart ... great product... and thank you for all this info
Great video! I have the Denali D4 on my 1250Gs 2021. But when i use them on high beam for one second they shuts off suddenly and i have to switch off the engine and after that they turn back on. Please help? Thank you
Yes I like the Remus 8, but the carbon fiber cone came apart and Remus replaced it with an exhaust of my choice and I chose the Hexacone Titanium, you can find that video here ua-cam.com/video/E0RH6HxXZ74/v-deo.html
Great video, how did you adjust the lights' beam angles? Rough guess or did you measure on the ground? Did you use lamp posts or cars length? Cheers! (I've got two D4 2.0 on a 2014 GSA LC)
I just rough guessed and then went to flat ground with a wall and pointed the lights at the wall from different distances to see where the lights projected. I wanted distance at full power high beams for the times I am alone riding with minimal to no traffic. I run the lights in the same position and 20% power when in town or around traffic. I use the hybrid lens, so its a flood on the lower and spot on the top to give me the distance when I want it. Good lights and they have worked out well for me so far. Thanks for the comment.
couple questions for you if you have time... I'm riding a Honda so not familiar with lighting systems on BMW at all. Currently shopping for these Denali's or possibly the Baja's that are similar in price and everything else except the Baja's are smaller and I don't think they offer any type of dimming but of course I could be wrong. Anyway, what are you using to dim to the different percentages, is that something already on the BMW or something you added? Your little video here has just about pushed me over the edge but would love to hear more about your complete setup so I can hopefully get something similar results wise. For me, I feel like I really need minimum three settings, one for folks seeing me during the day, one higher setting for low beam at night and one highest setting for high beam at night. Any help is much appreciated!
The cansmart from Denali is what allows me to use my BMW switches and wheel to adjust the lighting on the Denali D4. I beleive this cansmart is currently only available for the BMW GS r1200. Im not familiar with Baja lights, but I believe the baja's are designed specifically for the Africa Twin. I think you want to research the Bajas to find the best option for Honda. I also think it's important to be able to control or dim the lights whether its the Denalis or the bajas because these lights are super bright. Im seeing riders buy the denali D4 and put them on the Africa Twin only to find out that the D4 even in the low beam is too bright and no way of dimming them without the cansmart that is only available for the BMWs. I think Denali is making a cansmart for the africa twin but who knows when that will be out. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I'll help you if I can.
Check out the Baja Squadron Pro...they are also super bright. But as he said...the dimming option is only on the GSA...it also flickers with the horn. You could also consider Rigid industries or Clearwater.
Thanks for the reply - I had actually narrowed it down to the Denali's and the other three you mention. In the end I went with the Denali's with the included on off switch and added their DataDim tech. That allowed me to still use the on/off and keep 50% power with low beams and full power with high beams. I've left the hybrid setup as is for now, not even feeling like I need to switch them out. What made me choose this over the others boiled down to a couple things really. They include different lenses for you to switch out the light pattern easily when you want to, the DataDim technology which works for my bike AND finding out that their will be a major upgrade early next year which should add capability of flashing high beams when hitting horn, turning lights off with turn signals, etc. The Clearwater website was sorely lacking and I couldn't get them on the phone when I called so for me that immediately ruled them out. Rigid didn't seem to have any dimming capability and the Baja set I liked was more expensive and didn't include dimming either. In the end I'm quite pleased with the Denali's and hope the deer see me coming and get the heck out of my way!
Baja Design does not have dimming functionality. But compared to 40watt Denali D4 2.0, the Baja Design Squadron Pro is slightly better. Lower temp lights (5000k) provide superior illumination in rainy days.
I'm not sure, to be honest, I can't find the numbers anywhere. The lights are not warm in color at all, and its very little to no blue really. It's pretty white, very close to most LED headlights. I'd say its around 5800 to 6000 Kelvin.
Yes, I think you are correct. I rarely run with the adventure lights on anymore. I use to get flashed from time to time with only the adventure lights before I ever installed the Denali lights. Even with the Denali's at 20% and the adventure lights on people would flash me from time to time. Without the adventure lights on its no problem. I have also adjusted the Denali light angle as well to spread the light better. The camera also does not pick up the light as well as the eye. Thanks for commenting
I have the Denali D4 (older version) and I am not using the can bus part. I switch them on using the switch provided which means they are at 100% when i switch them on. But I have lowered the angle so that it lights up the road more. Also on the GS the lights get mounted upside down so have you flipped the lenses to the correct orientation?
@@Dude_Virus Denali gives you a couple lens covers that you can easily switch out to make your lights all spot, or all flood, or to mix and do a hybrid combination. I guess it's your personal preference to set the lights up how you like. I was considering trying the different options to see what I like best. I'm more in the hybrid mode to have a mix of both because I want some distance out of the lights but also some flood for close up. I don't get the full distance listed by Denali unless I use them both on spot lens. Hope that helps you.
@@MobMoto Mine didn't have additional lenses as with the Denali D4 v1 only the standard mixed lense was there. I have the default setup where the top 2 are spot and the bottom 2 are flood. I will buy another set of D4 2.0 in a few days as it has a better switch than the older version.
No music nothing. Just pure experience of watching him ride.😊😊😊😊
Dude, this is the best video about denali. Thanks for it !
Thanks bro!

hi what framerate did you film with? I see no flicker of the lights. mine flicker on camera like crazy. :)

Nice review, the exhaust seems to sound good, are those factory stock muffler? thanks for sharing
I run a Remus 8 aftermarket exhaust.
What do you mean when you say "GS Adventure Lights"? Do you mean the stock aux lights that comes with GSA?
Yes

I like GS Driver.....looks like they only drive at night. Good for me so the roads at daylight are free from those chrismas trees
what configuration do you have with the cover?

6000k
Thanks a lot for the reply. I ended up buying Baja Designs XL Racer Edition since it has a slightly warmer tint.
Lights seem ok. Would have been good to see without the adventures on and by the looks that beam is what's going to get in peoples eye's.
