Does the 450 with SX1 add seat of the pants low end grunt, increase low end trq that you feel? Would the SX1and flywheel weight be a good combination?

Mine runs really badly above 8.5k ft. Dies and pops on acceleration.

I bought this whole setup, Graves block off kit and a full Yoshimura RS-4 system based on your recommendations. Bike is now like a rocket ship in Map 1. Bike accelerates explosively like a 1987 YZ490 in Map 1. It just keeps pulling too all the way to the rev limiter. This is exactly what HRC is using on the Lawrence Bros. bikes and I can see why.

I also bought the SX1 and full Yoshi from TacoMoto, I been playing with both maps but seem to go back to map 1 often. I bought the traction control knob but not installed yet. Do you know when we will be able to purchase the LED switch for us guys that already have the SX1? Great videos thanks

I have this TacoMoto ECU on my 2024 CRF450RL. It’s always in the “dual sport” mode, I left the switch inside the air filter compartment. The throttle is now as smooth as it should have been from the factory, but… over 10,000 feet the idle drops really low and is pretty sketchy to re-start. (An internal barometer is supposed to prevent this?). I I have it set at the recommended 1800-1900 RPM idle. Other than the altitude issue, this really improves the stock bike and the overall cost was still much less than a Husky or KTM and the CRF is much better on longer road transfers between dirt sections than my FE350 was.

Nice vid Rodney. I bought the Get SX1 along with a full Graves exhaust from Taco Moto almost as soon as I got home with the bike. I also bought the T.M. de-smog kit. Exhaust off is a good time to install the Graves block off plate. TLDR: AWESOME!!! The Get ECU gets rid of the jerky throttle and flame-outs. And WOW does it unlock some more power! You do need to do some planning regarding the exhaust. I was okay with the oem but I hated having the cat under my butt. Besides, who wouldn't like to take 10 lbs off of their bike. The issue is that the ECU maps are dependent on the exhaust so they kinda need to be done at the same time. I am super happy with my T.M. purchases. Money well spent. I was a little confused about the TPS calibration cable so I never used it. I calibrated the TPS with the Get app. I also bought the LED switch. Adds nice functionality. Taco Moto rocks. I love the things they do.

I got the GET RX1… just 3 weeks before the SX1 came out. But still an awesome ECU

I’ve been rocking with the get ECU and the taco tune all summer. It really is a big improvement over stock! My only gripe is that when the bike is operating at temp and you stall (or just turn off the engine for a quick break) it’s hard to turn back on quickly. Usually have to try a couple times before it fires back up. The only thing better about the stock ecu was hot starting lol. The get ecu is superior in all other categories tho! Enjoying your content, ride safe!

It is difficult to get a group together for sure. Riding style and type of bike is critical. You have to know your riding buddies. But if you are that picky then you have the responsibility to ask these specific questions before the trip.

As an owner with over 8k on mine, i agree and disagree. Agree with everything except....TC is just way too intrusive. On or off road. I turn it off before clicking first. The rear shock is way too soft. It needs a way stiffer spring and it has little to no rebound or compression damping control. I'm re springing and revalving mine. Lastly, the air filter is no big deal. Once done once it simple and if you clip off the side tabs on the inner cowl panel, you can tilt the tank without having to remove that panel and the dash. I've got a re usable filter and can have it removed and replaced in 30 minutes without rushing. Tip to owners who ride dusty areas... Remove the air filter and re seal the locating grooove to the air filter with grease. First air filter check for me was at 3000klms and there was dust which got past the filter and had lightly coated the bell mouths. 👍

if you factor in the cost of a broken ankle/foot/toe then the cost of premium boots aren't that expensive if they keep you from getting broken. I'm torn between the Fastback Enduro and something like the SG-22 enduro gortex. Being able to walk around off the bike is pretty important to me.

Pretty fair analysis but I will say the heat from the honda has nothing to do with the dual piston rings. It's all tune. Mine runs as cool as anything out there with the AIM ECU.

I am looking at purchasing a CRF450RL in the near future. I have seen from a UA-cam video that the exhaust gets really hot. The person on the video showed it even got his bags he was carrying really hot. Do you think an aftermarket exhaust has less heat because of no catalytic converter? Great video.

Honda in my opinion is cooler

use the adventure for about 2000 kilometers now. Far the best offroad tyre i ever have driven. I live on canary islands. U got twisties only. Exept some rare highways on Tenerife. The first 200 kilometers it took me awhile to understand specially the front tyre. But now - gloves off ;-) (on a Triumph Tiger 900 RP)

just bought a 450rl 2024, i’m ordering a vortex and a rs-4 yoshi. i’m just a little lost on what smog delete to do seems that every forum i read is 50/50 on deleting tstat. wondering if you could give some advice on that

I've owned both, the KTM 500 remains. IMHO it's the better overall bike but the Honda is no slouch and can be had for less. If you ride tarmac more or wide open in the desert then the Honda is the bike, if you ride technical trails and more enduro style or BDR rides then I'd lean KTM. The 500 has a massive leg up in resale for those who care, they hold their value exceptionally well and they sell quickly on the second hand market. The Honda on the other hand can be had with <1000 miles for $8K all day and often times for even less and they tend to sit around for a while before they sell.

I've been using the Osmo Action 4 with the DJI Wireless Mic 2. I don't follow having another mic plugged into the DJI MIC. I must be missing something about the advantage of this. Why plug another mic into the DJI MIC?

That was probably the best review i have seen for these bikes .I have an older 525exc and looking to buy a used 450ktm I also have a CRF300L which i use on longer trips. I totally agree with your observations on which bike does which thing better.Thats why i have both😀
