If this was how avatar played out I don't think it would need 3 seasons to tell that story, 1/2 seasons is enough unless you wanna do something like naruto did and have like 40% fillers lol, either way the titles you named were simple and on point I like it, nice
I don’t think Kyoshi would have held Kuruk in low regard, because she knows the struggles he had with spirits because of Yangchen’s mistakes. I also don’t think she would have insulted Aang. She is direct but not unkind.
My thoughts exactly. They should redo the videos with the info that’s in the Kyoshi books. Kuruk was trying his best with the spirits but the humans are selfish and wanted the Avatar to serve them the way Yangchen did which created the mess Kuruk was dealing with anyway. And it’s even Yangchen herself who provides all this insight to Kyoshi.
My personal picture is that Kiyoshi likely knows an earthbending student needs harshness in order to thrive, however my issue is that Kiyoshi shouldn't have to be that harsh, aang whilst the avatar of air was raised in the fire nation here and thus should have already had a level of aggressiveness poured into him; yes the angry nature of the fire nation was as a result of sozin's legacy but it should be obvious it was also prevalent in his time given the nation was so ready to attack the peaceful air nomads. Aang realistically should have enough headon force/stubbornness to learn earthbending as it's stated the reason the avatar struggles with their opposite is due to their mindset not their biology.

I love the parallels between how Toph and Kyoshi would train Aang. It's such a good example of world building because both teachers reflect the fortitude it takes for earthbenders to control earth, giving the element itself a character!
For lack of a better word, I think the Avatar just asking the past lives to help him is not only a plot-hole but also is deritivative to the entire point of Avatar. Meeting new people, learning culture, and gaining understanding.
I always thought the point was that no matter how much you know, you can also learn more. Like how Raava thought she knew what was the best way to battle darkness, but even though she was an ancient being that embodied the concept of good, she was still proven wrong when she fused with the first avatar. Also like how Wong shi tong accepted new knowledge from the gaang, even though he was the ancient spirit of knowledge and had not accepted any new books or scrolls in a very long time, he never fell into believing that he knew everything even though it had been so long.
One thing doesn't remove the other. The Avatar has always had a strong spiritual connection, which then allows them to ask for guidance from their past selves. It's a cool concept that's not used as a fix-all, but some assistance
I don't think the Avatars of the past would've trained him. Just because they never did it so far, even in Aangs timeline when Jeong Jeong didn't want to train him Rokku never made a move to train him. I think they would rather make him find someone for each element, as even air normads proably survived somewhere.
The problem with that is it was never confirmed if any airbenders survived. The closest to that was Ty Lee’s family since Ty Lee’s fighting style is closer to an airbender and noticeably she’s the only fire nation member with a different eye color. And even that’s up in the age of one of her relatives was actually an airbender that survived. While I don’t think it’s likely to have a former Avatar train the current one it isn’t impossible if they were no other options. Besides Aang was thought fire bending before air bending here so the order was already broken so why not this too

I think most of us prefer to pretend that’s not the case. Korra was a good series but they ruined the Avatar State. Turning it into a spiritual power boost rather than being the combined experience of all the previous Avatars. Like Avatar Wan shouldn’t have been made more powerful from it as he was the first and same goes for Korra when she became the first in a new line of avatars. It’s also not nearly as interesting to say that the Avatar is good just because they are literally the embodiment of good. It takes away the human aspect of the avatars
he has a lot of time to be indoctrinated he was 12 yrs old before he even knew he was the Avatar I'd imagine he would struggle with fire bending at this point tho because he wasn't a fire bender by blood he would probably live though"s yrs with no bending potential and get abused by sozin azulon and his fire bending teachers until sozin try to kill him out of frustration and him being uselss to him but of course aang would still love sozin and azulon as his family
@@terrymcgregor3433 the avatar state was always a power boost, what are you talking about??? you can't judge aang uncontrollable avatar state vs korra, roku etc obviously uncontrollable will look more powerful because its user has no control. the avatar isn't invincible when in the states, that's why they don't stay in it just a blink and out of it, it just give their bending boost to overpower opponents except for spirits.

It kind of takes away the guilt he should feel, being the son of the firelord who was causing a lot of pain to everyone he would meet. It's like taking away Zukos' journey of redemption and just having him somehow manage to help the avatar without ever addressing how other people feel about him.
I think the nature versus nurture debate can bring up a good point here. Some people might be inclined to believe that Aang cannot be evil because he is the Avatar and has Raava the spirit of light. But Aang is indoctrinated into believing the same thing that Zuko was in the series, that the fire nation is spreading prosperity through the war. This inherently does not make Aang evil, for the same reason it didn't make Zuko evil. They were children led to believe in an amazing lie, for the purpose of propaganda. Being fed lies your entire life does not inherently make you evil. In fact pretty sure evil doesn't truly exist in this case because even Sozin couldn't actually kill Aang or Roku in this scenario. Whereas Ozai, for example, had absolutely no qualms about trying to kill Aang what so ever. The difference with Ozai and to a lesser extent Azula, is that they have diagnosable mental health issues. So even then it's a grey area about whether or not Ozai and Azula are 'evil'.

Honestly when I clicked on this video I expected to hate it. But as a genuine die hard fan of the Avatar CU I fully loved this. It was way better thought out than I thought it would be. While there are flaws in my head I do fully believe this is a reasonable way to see his life going
The timeliness here makes no sense. Sizing was already very elderly when Roku died and you're saying that he had Azulon 10 years after he wiped out the air nation. Sozin had to have had Azulon years prior
Wow I'm surprised I had an idea for a fan fiction that a fire nation Avatar that would come after aang, Korea and Is the future earth bending altar. He wouldn't know that he was the avatar but his past lives would come And teach him the ways of the elements.
What i think would happen next: After Aang visited all the Temples he would catalog and write everything he learned and find any register about the air nomads, he wouldnt live all day on the palace but ocasionaly going to visit Azulon and he would be traveling the world trying his best to help others in need and he would train Tenzin in airbending and maybe have more two children and maybe go to find the White Lotus and be a member, but it doesnt matter because this is legitimate peace, no Fire Nation attacking means no Jet parents dying, No bloodbending invented (yet) And basicaly in the future Kya and Hakoda would be still raising Sokka and Katara as a whole family and well the only possible evil that could happen is Ozai but unless he somehow takes Azulon and Iroh out of the picture
I'm gonna be honest, I definitely think this is how AtLA should've gone. The original story was great and I loved all of Aang's teachers but Aang being taught by his past lives is absolutely phenomenal 💖
i disagree i feel like this would feel wrong for the first avatar show but it could have been an interesting concept for Legend of Korra seeing as we have established the past lives in the first show but not seen the full potential: Korra could have been dropped while being transported to the Earth Kingdom as a child when the red lotus attacked and when she fell she was presumed dead as no-one could find her and the past lives started teaching her to bend and eventually she meets Toph who trains her in metal bending and they bond eventually people enter the forest to do something similar to Kuvira's plan (using the energy from the vines to full machines) and Korra would defend with 2 or more elements. They escape and tell that the Avatar is in the spirit swamp (they had thought the cycle was broken since there was no Earth Avatar born) and then the series continues

She's far more relatable than Aang but both of them struggled with being the avatar that they had trouble unleashing their full potential. I disagree. Him being taught by his former lives makes it WAY too easy. If he could have just been taught by his former lives this whole time it would barely even feel like he was his own person and he wouldn't be especially powerful since ALL of his former lives would have done the same after the first avatar. They wouldn't have been finding new forms of bending, wouldn't have had to truely master any element and would overall just seem like a huge cop out. Im glad it wasn't used in the real show because I genuinly believe it would have ruined it since there would no longer be sub missions of "finding a water/earth/fire teacher" for Aang.

It's a shame that you didn't use ANY of the Canon material from the Avatar Legends tabletop RPG. There's so much during Roku's Era that you could've used, like Sozin's sister Zeisan, or the rogue Airbender political group "the Guiding Wind". Thr could've worked _beautifully_ into the propaganda Aang would've grown up with.
That is a very interesting video, and i like your optimistic tone in regard to Aang convincing Sozin to come back home so to speak. Now, in a world where Azulon was groomed to become a normal person, i would really like to see a sequel video with Ozai's comment. Knowing Ozai, he would've probably use Azula to conquer Ba Sing Se and start a civil war within the fire nation. Either that, or he would've murdered his own father using his wife like in the canon, and then the next avatar (after Aang) would've been a waterbender who just happened to bend air. If there is such a sequel video, let me know. If there is not, i would be glad to help you with ideas for it.
I don't know how I like this plot device of "having everything in yourself". It seems rather cheap. Also, every Avatar had teachers other than his past lives to teach him the elements, so it wasn't an automatic process. EDIT: You use this with the Fan theory of what if Katara was the Avatar. There, she is taught by Aang, who is her past life. This never happens. The teaching process always involved a living master.
I love the mini story but in the show aang found it dufficult to kill sozin even tho he wasn't his father and this version acpeted it quickly secondly the past lives you could only visit on a solcitis or in a spiritual area but in this version they are like masters on command
It'd be interesting. Being trained as a fire bender, he'd obviously excellent at that, because bending is tied to the art the bender is performing. However, being born an air nomad, he would have to be naturally gifted in that. Being unskilled in the more free flowing nature of air and water bending would also make water bending, the fire nations biggest obstacle, extremely difficult for him to learn, making him less of a threat to Sozin and Azulon. Controlling Aang would likely lead to the destruction or subjugation of the water tribes, since the fire lords would have no need to focus so much of their efforts on the air nomads. Edit: The alleged remaining air nomads. I was implying that they could come out of their shells, maybe even joining the white lotus.
Kuruk wasn't actually a go with the flow avatar tho yang Chen did most of the things for him already BUT she forgott to take care of the spirit world and kuruk had to clean up the mess she left him with in the spirit world which also kinda made him die faster
I don't think Aang should have been able to learn the elements from the past Avatars.. There's a reason why, in the original show, Roku couldn't teach Aang fire bending himself. Roku even insisted on Jon Jon, The Deserter teaching him, which shows Roku couldn't do it because he was incorporeal.
i like the idea of a past avatar spirit teaching the current avatar, thats pretty cool i think he shouldve had a loyal dragon instead of a sky bison though..
if Aang was Raised in the fire nation it still would've ended the same just more arcs and seasons, Uncle Iroh would've taken Aang somewhere and they would meet Soka and Katara in the water tribe.
I'm kinda like this " what if ",honestly it's pretty cool to see Aang as a fire prince,but i dislike the idea the past avatars teaching him i'm think Sozin would rename him Anzai to fit in fire nation prince, Anzai ( Aang ) in this au is NOT a pacifist. Anzai personality would be arrogant,mean and sometime selfish, but he's not evil. Anzai is obsessed with being the perfect son and the perfect heir due to him want Sozin's attetion and love,which made Anzai flame's blue. When Anzai show his first fire bending, Sozin forcing him to do rigorous training that almost broke his bones with his firebendinng teachers,which make him the second strongest fire bender (after Sozin) at his time. After escape from the palace, he would be likely teach air bending by Gyasto,who some how surived from air nomads genocide and the others, during learning air bender, he would still had Appa as his spirit animal. When they're on the way escape from a fire nation ship by Sozin sent, Anzai and Appa get caught in storm and frozen in the ice berg for 100 years and found by Katara and Sokka and rest happened to be most like in the canon , expect Zuko to be redemped earlier than in canon Anzai would be shock,terrified or even deny to believed that he's the avatar,cuz the avatar is the biggest threat to the fire nation,his family, to h i s f a t h e r . Anzai's suffering and saddness will be explored in throughout the series,i'm kinda think when Anzai realize that 100 years has passed,he'll had a mental breakdown like Azula when she's lost agni kai with Zuko. Because he realize that he had TRULY LOST EVERYTHING , he lost his position as a prince; he lost his family, his friends; the man who he called 'father' want him dead; his whole life has been a lie, and he don't ever know who he really is . But during his journey and the help of his friends, he eventually get over it and defeated fire lord Ozai, and marry Katara like in the canon.
I don't like how you missed the perfect chance to make aang and boomi friends and since he wasn't raised as an air nomad boomi would a perfect teacher and sozin could have sent azulon to capture or kill aang that would have been an emotional dynamic that would make the conclusion of the story a lot better and not so lovey dovey "Ohh we can solve all our problems with words" really I just hate the fact that he made no friends on his journey and relived on the pass avatars too much to teach him in the show they never stay around for any long period of time because I don't think they can unless he goes in the spirit world and there messages are always vague and thing he gotta figure out on his own or by simply living life with friends other than that cool video

Kyoshi was a very big stick kind of Avatar but even in her mind she likely had a lot of self-doubt, especially earlier in her years.

This is my favorite Last airbender what if of all time.

After Aang visited all the Temples he would catalog and write everything he learned and find any register about the air nomads, he wouldnt live all day on the palace but ocasionaly going to visit Azulon and he would be traveling the world trying his best to help others in need and he would train Tenzin in airbending and maybe have more two children and maybe go to find the White Lotus and be a member, but it doesnt matter because this is legitimate peace, no Fire Nation attacking means no Jet parents dying, No bloodbending invented (yet) And basicaly in the future Kya and Hakoda would be still raising Sokka and Katara as a whole family and well the only possible evil that could happen is Ozai but unless he somehow takes Azulon and Iroh out of the picture

I'm gonna be honest, I definitely think this is how AtLA should've gone. The original story was great and I loved all of Aang's teachers but Aang being taught by his past lives is absolutely phenomenal 💖
i disagree i feel like this would feel wrong for the first avatar show but it could have been an interesting concept for Legend of Korra seeing as we have established the past lives in the first show but not seen the full potential:
Korra could have been dropped while being transported to the Earth Kingdom as a child when the red lotus attacked and when she fell she was presumed dead as no-one could find her and the past lives started teaching her to bend and eventually she meets Toph who trains her in metal bending and they bond eventually people enter the forest to do something similar to Kuvira's plan (using the energy from the vines to full machines) and Korra would defend with 2 or more elements. They escape and tell that the Avatar is in the spirit swamp (they had thought the cycle was broken since there was no Earth Avatar born) and then the series continues

She's far more relatable than Aang but both of them struggled with being the avatar that they had trouble unleashing their full potential. Korra showing off better abilities in this example rather than the actual show would be amazing to see

Him being taught by his former lives makes it WAY too easy.
If he could have just been taught by his former lives this whole time it would barely even feel like he was his own person and he wouldn't be especially powerful since ALL of his former lives would have done the same after the first avatar.
They wouldn't have been finding new forms of bending, wouldn't have had to truely master any element and would overall just seem like a huge cop out.
Im glad it wasn't used in the real show because I genuinly believe it would have ruined it since there would no longer be sub missions of "finding a water/earth/fire teacher" for Aang.

It's a shame that you didn't use ANY of the Canon material from the Avatar Legends tabletop RPG. There's so much during Roku's Era that you could've used, like Sozin's sister Zeisan, or the rogue Airbender political group "the Guiding Wind". Thr could've worked _beautifully_ into the propaganda Aang would've grown up with.

That is a very interesting video, and i like your optimistic tone in regard to Aang convincing Sozin to come back home so to speak. Now, in a world where Azulon was groomed to become a normal person, i would really like to see a sequel video with Ozai's comment. Knowing Ozai, he would've probably use Azula to conquer Ba Sing Se and start a civil war within the fire nation. Either that, or he would've murdered his own father using his wife like in the canon, and then the next avatar (after Aang) would've been a waterbender who just happened to bend air. If there is such a sequel video, let me know. If there is not, i would be glad to help you with ideas for it.

I don't know how I like this plot device of "having everything in yourself". It seems rather cheap. Also, every Avatar had teachers other than his past lives to teach him the elements, so it wasn't an automatic process.
EDIT: You use this with the Fan theory of what if Katara was the Avatar. There, she is taught by Aang, who is her past life. This never happens. The teaching process always involved a living master.

I love the mini story but in the show aang found it dufficult to kill sozin even tho he wasn't his father and this version acpeted it quickly secondly the past lives you could only visit on a solcitis or in a spiritual area but in this version they are like masters on command
It'd be interesting. Being trained as a fire bender, he'd obviously excellent at that, because bending is tied to the art the bender is performing. However, being born an air nomad, he would have to be naturally gifted in that. Being unskilled in the more free flowing nature of air and water bending would also make water bending, the fire nations biggest obstacle, extremely difficult for him to learn, making him less of a threat to Sozin and Azulon. Controlling Aang would likely lead to the destruction or subjugation of the water tribes, since the fire lords would have no need to focus so much of their efforts on the air nomads.
Edit: The alleged remaining air nomads. I was implying that they could come out of their shells, maybe even joining the white lotus.
Kuruk wasn't actually a go with the flow avatar tho yang Chen did most of the things for him already BUT she forgott to take care of the spirit world and kuruk had to clean up the mess she left him with in the spirit world which also kinda made him die faster
I don't think Aang should have been able to learn the elements from the past Avatars.. There's a reason why, in the original show, Roku couldn't teach Aang fire bending himself. Roku even insisted on Jon Jon, The Deserter teaching him, which shows Roku couldn't do it because he was incorporeal.

i'm think Sozin would rename him Anzai to fit in fire nation prince, Anzai ( Aang ) in this au is NOT a pacifist. Anzai personality would be arrogant,mean and sometime selfish, but he's not evil. Anzai is obsessed with being the perfect son and the perfect heir due to him want Sozin's attetion and love,which made Anzai flame's blue. When Anzai show his first fire bending, Sozin forcing him to do rigorous training that almost broke his bones with his firebendinng teachers,which make him the second strongest fire bender (after Sozin) at his time.
After escape from the palace, he would be likely teach air bending by Gyasto,who some how surived from air nomads genocide and the others, during learning air bender, he would still had Appa as his spirit animal. When they're on the way escape from a fire nation ship by Sozin sent, Anzai and Appa get caught in storm and frozen in the ice berg for 100 years and found by Katara and Sokka and rest happened to be most like in the canon , expect Zuko to be redemped earlier than in canon
Anzai would be shock,terrified or even deny to believed that he's the avatar,cuz the avatar is the biggest threat to the fire nation,his family, to h i s f a t h e r . Anzai's suffering and saddness will be explored in throughout the series,i'm kinda think when Anzai realize that 100 years has passed,he'll had a mental breakdown like Azula when she's lost agni kai with Zuko. Because he realize that he had TRULY LOST EVERYTHING , he lost his position as a prince; he lost his family, his friends; the man who he called 'father' want him dead; his whole life has been a lie, and he don't ever know who he really is . But during his journey and the help of his friends, he eventually get over it and defeated fire lord Ozai, and marry Katara like in the canon.

I don't like how you missed the perfect chance to make aang and boomi friends and since he wasn't raised as an air nomad boomi would a perfect teacher and sozin could have sent azulon to capture or kill aang that would have been an emotional dynamic that would make the conclusion of the story a lot better and not so lovey dovey "Ohh we can solve all our problems with words" really I just hate the fact that he made no friends on his journey and relived on the pass avatars too much to teach him in the show they never stay around for any long period of time because I don't think they can unless he goes in the spirit world and there messages are always vague and thing he gotta figure out on his own or by simply living life with friends other than that cool video
