It’s orbital strikin’ time! The Power Rangers have faced many of Rita Repulsa's ginormous monsters, but could her staff be the real threat? In addition to showcasing his shockingly long locks, Kyle makes the science grow on this episode of Because Science. Never before seen on the Because Science Channel! - Наука та технологія
Throwing her staff from the moon to the earth.. that has to be some Olympic javelin record.
When you realize that your staff is more dangerous than your monsters.
*confused unga bunga*
edge lord heyyy
Watch ldz
To those saying the staff takes longer to travel and the time is just cut out, that might be true for a few seconds but keep in mind she throws it when the battle is going on and never more then a minute at most seems to have gone between when the power rangers are winning vs the monster grows.
Sense Rita Repulsa threw her staff using only her upper-body strength, I'd say that she is more dangerous than any monster that she could create.
She just nabs the Megazord and chuck it into space (Ala Hercules throwing that bear into space).
And she’s nothing agaisnt Lord Zedd
Lmfao TRUEEE
@@Nomadx83 how come. I don't watch power rangers lol
@@Nomadx83 I did have one comic one time tho. And I've caught some episodes from time to time in my childhood randomly. Idk which series' tho
Kyle, it’s awesome to see you come back as much as you can. I know what it’s like to suffer from depression and speaking for myself and the whole Nerdist community, it’s great to see you back every now and then. We’re all behind you and keep up the good fight, you’ll get through this!
this is from 2017 kyle left because science/nerdist a few months ago and has his own channel now called Kyle Hill
Not gona mention how strong Rita has to be??? Do the math on that throwing arm bro.
She's probably the quarterback on her local women's football team.
I didn;t think about it the first time I saw this... But if that staff can turn a 6footmonster to a 60foot monster... What if she just made the staff bigger when she threw it. A 20 foot tall 2 foot wide staff impacting the ground would wipe out all life on earth.
Missing Kyle much because science/nerdiest?
He has his own channel called Kyle hill
They made it clear until a new host can be found they will be reposting old videos and posting unseen ones.
We all do, I mean the Kyle that hadn't come out of the Evil Villain clóset.
I appreciate that you are using your skills of science to answer the truly important questions in life. Thanks.
Kyle isnt here anymore, he has his own channel now.
Subscribe to kyle hill for more!!
what if we redo the calculations from the fact that the staff only penetrated about 3" of loose pebbles? =P
Artist....go fourth and draw a Lord Zed with blood steam coming off him!
Wow, cashing in again on kyle as soon as he uploads?
Kyle KNOWS what really matters!
Last time I was this early, I had a schedule...
The next question what is the staff made of. To travel through the Earth's atmosphere at that speed it should have heated up to a glowing red. What metals or composite material deflect heat?
Vibranium, she had it before it was cool
Ask him over on his channel live streams channel name Kyle hill
I was always “Sabretooth Tiger!” Yes I just did the move too. Haha oddly enough she had the same bday as me 😬
Ok
omg, my favorite rerun other than the MCU related ones
I just love these videos: they give us answers we didn't know we needed but now we have them and everything is better for it. ^^
Dude I just discovered your channel and I love it I’ve watched so many videos you’re the best keep up the interesting content
Kyle left because science. He has his own channel now
Gemma Cook what really why
Because science wont say why they kicked him I can speculate....anywhoo go subscribe to his new channel kyle hill
How does she get her staff back each time? Attraction powers? Those would be pretty dangerous a well...
I mean, I just always assumed it was teleporting with her magic, as she does with her minions all the time. Either that or she throws monsters at approaching light-speed. One of these seem more likely for a witch. Also, Lord Zed just got so much more Metal.
Forget how powerful the staff is, She can throw the staff from the moon to earth and able to hit the target. (I assume gravity, weather and surely others would alter the direction) If only she played sports.
Which sport should she play with that kind of strength?
Yesssss!!! ....im the one that fb mssgd u like 3 years ago asking u to do a video on lord zed!!!! Thank u!!!!
glad you're still making videos bro
They're uploading scraps, go to his new channel at "Kyle Hill"
This is a reupload.
He is making new videos over on HIS channel kyle hill
Nice video, Kyle! Now, calculate how powerful Ohma Zi-O is. I'm curious
He is *uber* powerful. I'd say the other Oma Zi-O form is more powerful
So powerful he was never truly defeated
If you want Kyle to figure that out, you might want to visit his channel so he sees the question.
This is a re-upload. Kyle left the channel and is now on his own channel. A channel called 'Kyle Hill'
WOW!
I never knew that her staff was so dangerous!
I'm glad she never realized that either!
This is ridiculous, always posting when Kyle does
The oposite is more likely.
@@bash3294 that could be true, but.. the fact that they are re-uploading old videos with him in them seems a bit sketch, given the fallout between Nerdist and Kyle Hill
I must have missed a lot. Did Kyle leave this channel
David Hollis Yes, his new channel is Kyle Hill
David Hollis yes he left as far as I know neither he nor Nerdiest or BS have said anything as to why. All they said was that until a new host can be found they will be reposting old footage and posting up videos they haven’t posted before.
Cool video! I wonder if when Rita's staff hits the ground, would it stick in the ground like on the show? Or would it bury itself deep in the ground because it has a tip on it? Kinda like a bullet?
5:50 Well, this is just serendipitous (and remember that the Animaniacs did a parody of Power Rangers, wherein we hear the tail end of a song about serendipity)! This morning in the shower, I thought of this exchange:
*Said in an angrily disbelieving tone*:"Goldar, my ear!"
*Door opens to reveal Ms. Meir*: "Shalom, everyone!"
Yes, it's a long way to go for a bad joke, but, as Toast from Histeria was fond of saying, "Ask me if I care."
p.s. For all those playing at home, Nostalgia Bingo!
Dude, ive been legitimately asking this question on this page for 2yrs, now to find out I was a year late. No wonder Nate never picked it lol
Kyle has left, aged ago. He has his own channel search his name.
As soon as it touches the ground it transfers the energy from its impact to summon whatever she wants. She found a means to convert energy with 100% efficiency.
But if its a perfect tip at the end couldn't it potentially pierce through the earth's crust and bury itself along with making a crater? But i guess it could be the sudden release of energy into the ground that creates the monsters(?)
Question, would making the pole out of osmium change the dmg? If so, how destructive would that be compared to the tungsten one?
I always thought Rita's staff was just a small drone like space ship. She's not hurling the thing when she throws it, she just likes launching it that way. The apparent speed of travel was just film cuts, like how you never see the entire shuttle craft trip on Star Trek. I also figured it was self propelled since it has to get back to her right? If not how many of those things does she have?
I was just thinking of this the other day. Just how fast she threw that staff.
Imagine if she just yeeted her trash at earth. Like you're walking down the street and a Gatorade bottle hits the ground in front of you at mach 3.
I'm sure it would burn up before hitting the ground like most meteors.
@@JasonWW2000 well you're no fun lmao
But since this film was shot at such an early time back when video editing was not as great as now. And since you use the time it takes for the staff to hit earth, would it change the way of calculation if it was shot and edit in the current era 🤔
With the monsters being grown, that means she's adding mass to them. For every 2000kg, that's 4,494 times as much energy as the kinetic energy mentioned at 5:38. We don't know the exact mass of the monsters, but they would basically float away like a balloon if it were less than that. The monsters may be an insanely inefficient use of that energy, but her staff is putting off more energy than her 42%c throw.
4:35 - yeah, it gets to the earth pretty fast...
4:38 - but within the atmosphere it is traveling much, much slower. Like, roughly it's length per second... so about 2.5m/s ?
So, it may travel between the moon and earth insanely fast, but once in the atmosphere it isn't. One could even argue that the 'space' views is from her patio on the moon (angled up so you can't see the surface). Leaving it travels the slow speed and arriving it is slow... so either it has a momentary warp that operates after traveling a certain distance after being thrown and allows it to reach earth insanely fast... or it travels at the slow speed to earth and at some point it time travels back in time to line up so it lands at a reasonable time (meaning there are a lot of staves flying towards earth at any given time).
And then, how does she get her staff back after? She also can travel between the moon and earth insanely fast as well. So, perhaps her staff is more powerful than her monsters, just for the fact that she could actually teleport anywhere she wanted.
most informative video
Moving around and being trailed by a constant mist or fog of blood at all times...? That's the most metal thing I've heard in a long time, and would definitely be awesome for a villain. Maybe a bit extreme for a kid's show, though... though I could see it in an anime...
still happy I got noticed by senpai before he left... we miss you Kyle
Check out his new channel Kyle hill where he uploads regularly!!
Can you do a video on the science of the rangers morphin grid or morphing in general?
Given that some level of magic and loads of alian tech that is in this franchise, maybe the staff absorbs the kinetic build up and then uses that energy to cause the monsters to become giant rather than the staff being able to cause it on its own. We do see the red electricity from the staff's gem create a hole that the giant monster jumps out of.
This is why i sub
pretty sure they just have the same upload schedule but who really knows
The staff is magic based. The staff is moving slow and then appears on each going that same slow speed. It could be possible that it just teleports above the ground and then applies the magic to the master
Maybe lord zed and rita use something like aerogel in a dome to help keep atmosphere on their house. I am not sure if there is a lattice work of other materials to keep it stable for how high the building is. probably use magic to fix it after she hucks the staff through it.
ok so based on your explanation and breakdown of the staff's size and entry etc etc would it me more plausible to say her throwing arm is more dangerous since she has to physically throw the staff through space where momentum is not constant? last i knew everything has to slow down in space. The same result could happen with anything she throws.
However Kyle you should fully understand that when there are cuts between takes it is entirely possible for time skips to be done.
@because science I would be curious to see the calculations of what material she would have to have the staff made out of just to make it to earth then redo this equation based on the new mass.
Wouldn't it slow down to terminal velocity once it hits the atmosphere though?
Damn. This chanell is annihilating my brain cells every day :D
How does Ritta girl brings back her staff from earth to moon? xD
Seriously?
Rita is an alien witch she uses magic to send it there and back in fact I think she even teleports it from time to times so the cut can actually be off screen teleportation and it doesnt even have to have a tons of speed or its controlled by the spell to grow the monster as well as it getting stuck in the ground.
Its not exactly related to the video but is something i have always wanted to ask. and see if you had any opinion on it.
So considering that as we know nothing about dark energy/matter we would have to assume for now that their is multiple types.
Our universe is just one type of matter and our universe works in conjunction with other universes, presuming the universes were layered, but just invisible to others, or this could be other dimensions. as in if we were to progress into the 4th dimension then we would be able to see the other universe interacting with ours.
I know not a lot is known about any of those subjects, but i'm just curious what your comment would be.
Hope to hear back. ty.
Objection! Any time something in a show or movie is shown moving vast distances in a short amount of time, but the object on screen isn't moving very fast, it is implied there was a time skip between shots. It's not an issue with realism, it's that no one wants to watch something float through the void for several minutes. Rita's staff is clear depicted moving very slowly when it hits the ground, there had to be an intentional time skip.
Hmm...Now I'm curious...Can you guys calculate how powerful a Kamen Rider can be?
I'm curious how powerful is Ohma Zi-O?
which one? there are over 20 and that is only hesei,
They should also do a video on the theoretical physics of Morphing. Mass source , Multiverse theory and teleportation devices come into play.
These are all reruns because Kyle left this channel. Visit Kyle's New Channel for some new science stuff
They actually already have stats for them.
Once you've held tungsten and understood true density all other density becomes irrelevant.
can you make a video about the pentagon ufo sighting?
Ask him on his new channel kyle hill
GO GO SCIENCE RANGERS!!
When you accidentally watch the outro with your phone sideways
hi, can you explain me one thing. How is it that its harder to stop loaded car when you've got more friction because of the increased mass.
Ask over on his channel kyle hill
Only problem with this is it's not the staff itself causing damage it's the energy coming off the staff after it touches ground
If I remember correctly it looked like her staff increased in size by the time it hit Earth. So wouldn't that change the kinetic force? Also it seems to hit around the same spot.
Small Question:
How do you throw something from the moon to the Earth? The Objekt to throw would need a Start Velocity which needed to be higher than the gravity of the moon (escape Velocity) and so the Staff had a much more deadly impact, wouldn't it ? Or did I just ignore something ?
Rita is pretty strong
Thats insane to think Rita created that destructive idea xD
Could you make a video about how fast you have to be to dodge 9mm and 5.56mm bullets?
this is a repost from 2017 kyle left and has his own channel now called Kyle Hill.
Sorry can I just have a sound bite of Kyle saying "aye aye aye" in that deep af voice please
How powerful Rita will be to throw that staff at that speed
I love Rita. Only she can make my monster grow.
Don't know if you saw the 2nd GI Joe movie Rise of Cobra but they had a space weapon like this. A satellite equipped with a tungsten rod. They would just drop the thing and let gravity do the rest. At least in the movie when it hit the ground it caused a massive earth quake.
Please do a episode on the last episode of Dino Super Charge. Explaining how it's impossible for both dinosaurs and humans to coexist due to the temperature being too hot for us or too cold for them and the dangers of the carnivores
In the 2017 reboot Rita Repulsa is even more versatile with her staff.
I assumed that there was some traveling between shots...
If the staff was travelling at these speeds, than it probably won't be like an impact weapon, but it would rather explode to a ball of plasma when it contacted the earth's atmosphere. (Similar to the relativistic baseball in a book "What If")
All Rita needs to do is just throw a few of her staffs at the earth to get the point across that she ain’t messing about
how do we know the staff's weight? The material may be its an alien one so it could be heavier or lighter
And to answer for Zedd I think the Rita place got is own atmosphère and air because Magic
Can u make a vid about how really smart devoe is. Please
You didn't think about the tubes that Lord Zedd has. Those probably help prevent effects you mentioned. 😏
Oh my god, I totally forgot she use to throw the stave..
Please do an episode on Stark nanotechnology
She could do both things, the staff destroys a lot of things and then it creates the monsters.
Heres a thought for everyone, Kyle included. Would a Jedi, using the force on a person constantly vis a vis mind tricks, eventually cause brain damage?
Surely the constant physical changes in the brain from the manipulation by midichlorians would eventually damage it?
If this is the case i reckon at least some of the sith used it as a means of data extraction or torture?
Right, Rita’s staff reaches Earth at a fraction of light speed. If she can make that happen, she might as well go down there and punch the megazord herself.
its sad he isn't here anymore
In space there is air in PR universe. This is well established in many seasons and more so PRIS and PRLG!
One thing about that staff! Wouldn't using it on the Rangers be the best bet? Humans don't scale up very well, so I assume if she just tossed it their way and made them grow. . . It'd be messy to say the least.
I don't get it. Are these old unreleased videos, or is he still working with this channel?
I always wanted to know... Does it just teleport back to her after use? Or does she have a bunch of them? Could she just Space Javelin the Power Rangers to death? Can she grow an already grown monster?
Can someone like The Flash be able to see while he's running based on science? When he moves fast does the light move slower to him making him unable to see properly?
But can Because Science figure out which set Gangsta Crizzab is from?
So, cause Power Rangers, there is apparently atmosphere on the moon. In Lost Galaxy, we see that humans are able to survive on the moon without space gear like helmets or suits. And this is canon to the OG rangers as Lost Galaxy is said to be connected to the OG timeline, despite it being a departure from the orginal series.
What about the staff only puncturing the ground only a few inches...? It slows down somehow
The problem that you have is with the 3 second observation is that the scene is cut so we actually do not see the staff going at the speed that you are calculating. I think it would be better to take the speed from the frame count at the last second before impact. I am sure it is going much slower, but for storytelling it would be a really boring scene seeing a staff falling in the air for the actual time it will take.
Rita Repulsa has a mean pitch....but the ground where she threw it at must be super-dense because it just penetrated a few inches. Talk about an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object O_O
You forget that the only thing that completely destroyed a megazord was the planet buster, according to the 1st red ranger in forever red, zord Serpentera! The fact that the Terrorzord from Turbo might be stronger is scary!
If the staff did impact the ground that hard and leaving the crater that it would, that would help explain all the steam rising from the ground.
Gotta switch over to the Japanese Counterpart, kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, for a moment. Before Rita (aka, Bandora in the Japanese), she chants "O spirits that dwell in the depths of the Earth, bestow your evil power upon " Then throws the staff down, creating the 170 meter deep crater to allow the trapped evil spirits to escape and enlarges the monster. So thanks to science, we know how far not to dig lest we unleash the evil spirits lying dormant in the earth.
And the pig monster never grew in the show (one of the few that doesn't). The Rangers defeated it by using their power weapons together in the power blaster mode.
I was watching Back to the Future 3 the other day and was wondering how you could actually build a refrigerator in 1885 with 1885 components, or a microchip in 1955 with 1955 components...
Good idea for an episode? Because if it is I'll keep petitioning for it 😅
This was from 2017. Kyle has moved to his new channel called Kyle Hill.
@@JasonWW2000 dang. I always do this. I Google something and miss it anyway.
Thank you so much 🙏
I think you gone the opposite direction with your logic, the staff hits the earth in 1-2 seconds max from a distance of 300000km, so it was at least flying with minimum 150000km/s speed. so 50-100% of lightspeed, at that speed we can rule out drag, and the staff would most likely pierce the earth, or if it did stop the staff, all that maybe 5kb staff material would be converted into energy, destroying anything in a huge range.
ok, nwm, I was not at the end :)
did you guys not get the memo kyle's not gonna respond to your questions because he left Because Science/Nerdist all together a few months ago and now has his own channel now called Kyle Hill, links right here ua-cam.com/users/ScienceBasedLife
