I’m 54 and can remember the M&M Boys at Florida U Maxwell & Moten and Vern was tuff as nails then and when Larry Brown cut him ppl were pissed we loved mad max in Philly
Wow So Mad I miss the live. Watching the replay. Vernon was one of my favorite players. That’s why I love ❤️ this Channel because they don’t forget about The former Players and I love that. Wow that was crazy about the locker room incident.
I'm an ol' Knicks fan. Never will forget the beating Mad Max and Sam Cassel put on us in the finals. Hakeem was dancing, sliding and gliding around Ewing. Sad times but great times. Met Vern at An All Star event 2011. He is a cool MF'er. A real dude. So chill you wouldn't have known he was one of the famous former ballers in the league.
Yeah all the dudes that coward Stern set out to black balled seem to be the realest players in the league like Rasheed! It’s like WWE when McMahon never let the Wrestlers in the 80s and 90s come out of character even on their days off out in the public! Should let us know their is some deception and shady shyt going on about that league/Sport
@@QueensNewYorkguyNot saying that’s not true, I’ve never heard it. I was worried because Starks had been lighting us up, my Dad told me eventually Starks was gonna get cold. He showed us in game 7.

Didn’t care what it looked like, just did everything he could to bust your ass night in night out. Soldier.
Vern was always one of my favorite hard-nosed, in your face and bust your ass players. I’ve never seen him interviewed before…I’ve now gone and watched him in a few interviews. Funny thing is, dude sounds exactly as I’d always imagined he’d sound like. But, throw in his openness and willingness to discuss anything in 100% real terms…this dude is no doubt one of my favorite NBA player interviews. I could listen to Mad Max tell stories all day.
Otis Thorpe was built like Shannon Sharpe and when he play with the pistons 💪🏾 homie would control the ball 🏀 with one handed dunks and shit all under the rim. His hand is so big it looked like he was holding a soft ball 🤯
My teacher in middle school was a college professor and had Otis Thorpe as a student at providence or Rhode island? He used to tell us stories about Otis.

I'm starting to notice a pattern...... Right after a coach finishing using your talents, all of a sudden on draft night, negative press "miraculously pop up" Vern wasn't the first whose coach sold him out. This seems to happen a lot.
Wasn't the coach in Vern's case. It was the AD. Gotta remember (well, those of us who were around back then) the football program at UF was undergoing sanctions when Emmitt Smith was there. Sloan didn't throw Maxwell under the bus. The athletic department smeared his name and some of the young coaches who Sloan had hired. Remember it like yesterday.
