The best part is this: The dynamic campaign in such a form was introduced by Falcon 4 in 1998! and practically non existent outside the Falcon world, even 20 years later!
As I always say... Falcon is a work of art, it is often misunderstood, but once you understand its world you get hooked by it. You can go away from it but you always come back to it in the end :)
@@MaxWaldorf the realest thing I’ve read on the internet all year, the minute I figured out all the files and how to edit campaigns and add textures models and skins. I’ll never go back to the other …… btw Ty bro for all your videos
A dynamic campaign was available in ALL iterations of Enemy Engaged. Enemy Engaged Apache Havoc, and Enemy Engaged Comanche Hokum. They were the DCS of yesteryear allowing you to fly 2 Soviet and 2 US helicopters. Of course it doesn't hold a candle to DCS nor BMS now, but it was at that time a very cool combat helicopter simulation with a dynamic campaign that could be tailored just like the one in BMS.
Noob here still getting to grips with the aircraft systems but interesting to see the complexity of things to come later. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.
Every DCS fan needs to see what this game has to offer and get a prospective to how much shallow their game looks to a BMS veteran. A single DCS module might cost someone up to 80$ just one plane and with all that money they are getting they can't make a dynamic campain like BMS - its a shame really. Many thanks this tutorial was great! Keep up the great work Max.
Yes it does offer a dynamic campain and thats very cool, but it does not offer helicopters, different jets, ww2 props, Dual cockpit, VR, Link16? so on and so forth. For me playing PvP servers in my favorite aircraft of all time the F-14 and having my friend in the backseat nothing can beat that. And maybe the dynamic campaign does that for you as the f14 does for me..But why not just enjoy both as they offer complete different packages..
Great stuff, I remember unboxing my copy way back when and being amazed by the manuals and complexity. Getting back into BMS now. I thought Allied Force was the end of dev, looks like I've been missing out :) Time to bust out ye olde Saitek HOTAS again.
Thank you for the video ! One thing I find missing sometimes when I'm playing a campaign is to remember how to win this campaign. Winning conditions are poorly display in the game IMHO, especially on campaigns not explaining what's the goal
Great video!, but I think it is safer to use higher STP (81+) for marking targets. Also, fragging the package is begging for separate video as well as tips&tricks on mission planning + DTC (like setting killboxes, additional HSD points and suc stuff).
Hi MaxWaldorf, great introduction to the campaign possibilities. Do you have a video where you actually fly the mission ? Would be great to see how all the planning affects the HSD, how to rendez-vous and so on
Hi. Starting my Rolling Fire campaign I can only see 4 airbases on blue side, none or red side, and much less units on the campaign map than you. Do you run a special mod?

Honoring the tradition of Falcon and its ring-binder 4lb manual by dropping a 40 minute tutorial on just STARTING a campaign, I see.
Good look.
Stand clear of the ramp for 4.35 arrival :)
This was the episode of your tutorials that I was looking forward to, thank you Max!
I'm coming from DCS and I'm super confused with BMS. I really feel that BMS is the more complicated of the two.
Challenge Accepted.

Thank you for this guide. There aren't many videos about the campaign side of bms.
Great tutorial, keep up the good work

Awesome video I will add this to my getting started with Falcon Playlist of other UA-camrs tutorial videos.
Great stuff!
Thank you for the video, amazing!
Thank you
Coming to see us on the falcon lounge soon?
@@MaxWaldorf Sure will! Just want to get a better hang of things lol

The trigger file is usually the best way to decode the winning conditions but I agree it should be part of campaign description.

Yeah, but as always, between life, Falcon Lounge, BMS and stuff... Where can I find time to cover everything :D

I am sure if you review one of my many strrams, you'll see that in action.
Cheers
Thanks!!!
Thx man :)
What is the difference between target type and mission type?
Is it possible to win or complete the campaign? or does it go on indefinitely?
Of course,
Each campaign has it's own set of triggers and conditions that will either result in loss, victory or defeat.
I never flown a campaign back in 1998 because the computer spec was so crappy (actually f4 was too advanced ahead of time)

Are you starting on 4.35 or 4.34?
Salut max
There is no VR support for the game, even after 20 years later, so no start with your first campaign for me :D
Well...
That was very useful thank you 😉
