I've just started playing around with F4 and have found that using 'Lossless Scaling', a DirectX based application resolution scaler, helps with the tiny sizes of F4 and other apps like F4Setup while maintaining borderless capabilities. LS works at the app level and can be turned on and off via hotkey as needed. 'Lossless Scaling' is available on steam. Thanks for the great F4 vids.
Don't expect to enjoy DCS after playing BMS (or only for the graphics). True BMS is mostly about F-16 but so perfectly modelled ! And the campaign replayability is so huge!
?! 50 and 52 are almost identical, the only major difference is that 50 uses General Electric engine, while 52 uses Pratt-Whitney engine. In terms of capabilities they are the same. 42 was inferior to 40, but it is not the case in block 5x.
@@samurai1-18 I was thinking more from the perspective of the 2D campaign - there are plenty of missions uploaded here but as far as I am aware noone has tracked the campaign just from 2D. So, show how the map has evolved, what missions you flew and where, the shifting priorities as time progresses etc. I am at the end of day1 of Rolling Fire. I am determined to complete the campaign as I have never got that far before. Something I am battling is lack of supply (running out of AMRAAMS etc) so I have been manually fragging resupply missions (not sure if they are having a positive effect actually)
wow, glad your getting back in to it, lol, ive learnt some stuff here, best i DL Campaign manager, just back into BMS myself after a 7 yr gap, plus ive gone new hotas and trackir so lots to learn and an insult on the senses....

@@samurai1-18 hi man just tried to follow your route, when i try to open my saved KTO camp, it comes up in MC that it could not find and could be corrupt?.....edit, its ok sussed it.
Really nice guide. Been a year or so since I flew bms but always enjoyed it and the campaign. This is an excellent resource for picking things up again. It’s a shame that the front end is locked to such a small resolution, this and the controls setup put many off bms which is a shame as it’s still an incredible flight sim.
Absolutely useful and further reinforces by decision to join the Falcon family. Guess a 32 inch monitor is sufficient, haven't heard from you on type computer? Don't wanna go to high end if not necessary. Looking forward to the campaign.
Hey there. Well I have a bit of a beast: i9 9900k, RTX2080, and 32GB of 3600mhz RAM. But that is overkill...you would be fine in BMS with a lot less...
Nice vid. Had some problems setting up bms, but it worked out. Setting up axis and opentrack caused some problems. Now learning the jet. I have a good understanding of the dcs a10c, so this should not be to hard. Keep up the good work 💪
Yeah, it can be tricky. Are you using the Alternative Launcher? It will help with axis and key binding a lot. Yeah, the DCS A10 is similar in terms of system complexity level -- in some cases even more so! I find the BMS F16 a bit more intuitive, but that A10 is INCREDIBLE at CAS...
@@samurai1-18 i did, it is far better then the settings page ingame. I still love the a10c, but because of the lack of a good dynamic campaig, i want to do bms. Now busy figuring out the radio's. ATC is far better then dcs
Great vid! I played last time 4.0 15 years ago.. And with mac I tried the some later version, maybe 10 years ago. Now I have a 5 years old tower win10, i7 with nVidia760 - would I dare to try to install BMS? I’m not even sure if my joystick works anymore.. :) I started with Falcon XT, in 1988.. simpler days then; but not by much. Looking forward to see you buy the farm frequently, if your pause from Falcon has been as long as mine..
Thanks! Yeah of course: there are two main ways: 1) If you use the Alternative Launcher, you just select "Windowed" before launching -- it will do the work behind the scenes for you... 2) If you don't use AL, right click on your BMS 4.34 shortcut and append -window in the "target" field...
@@whammo11224 You''re very welcome. This only effects 2D -- in 3D it's still in a window, but full screen (if that makes sense).
Nice Video. For those with multi monitor setups and have OBS. Usually i'm streaming or recording so what I do is open up OBS in full screen on my second monitor and I have a Full Screen UI. Not a fix but alternate option for those that use it.

Haha. The first mission is in edit now -- I'll aim to upload it tomorrow. Watch this space!
Enjoy what's about to come, and thanks for the ref.

So true! The campaign is still the bar against which all are compared...
