    I visited from Atlanta GA.... Everything was so different. I love the Canadian cutlure. So many different people. I was staying on Peguis street and Regeant avenue. There was a business called VISIONS across the street. I took the bus to Portage place. I had lots of putine. It was so cool to be sorta one of kind. I had never experienced so much snow in all my life and cold tempatuees. This was my first time in another country so I will never forget it. I had an amazing time...!

I was making a delivery. 2nd time in Canada. 1st time I flew to Detroit and took a taxi to the casino in Windsor. I hope to visit Winnipeg and go to a hockey game. City looks so clean!!!!!

    My old man started to work for CN in 57' and ran his crew while going all over Canada to remote places to fix the lines and signals. He received his 25-year wall clock and plague along with some other little treats. After CN's move to Syminton, he worked for another eighteen years until retirement. He'll be gone coming two years in may, 2023. With all the history, I've never so much as walked into this place. One day soon.

      There are a lot of places to eat, and the food in Winnipeg is great. You just don't see too many of them in this video because most of them don't face the street --- they're either accessible from inside larger buildings or they're on side streets away from noisy traffic. Also, when this video was shot, most restaurants had already closed their outdoor tables for the season.

      What would you say about Exchange District? Some say it has lots to offer, some say its empty after 6pm and not safe.. What areas would you recommend to live, in terms of being affordable, but close to centre?

    • @DaveGIS123
      @DaveGIS123 3 роки тому +1

      @@joang.6664 I’m glad to help you.
      The Exchange District and the nearby Warehouse District feature a huge number of very good restaurants but many of them service the daytime business crowd and do close early. The ones that stay open late offer excellent food and drink. Here’s a small selection: www.tripadvisor.ca/RestaurantsNear-g154954-d564271-Exchange_District_Guided_Walking_Tour-Winnipeg_Manitoba.html Like most restaurants downtown, many of the ones on this list don’t have much of a street front presence --- some of them are almost literally holes-in-the-wall --- but you can find some real gems there. Use Google Maps to see where they are, and check their web pages to see their menus.
      As for places to live, I really can’t answer that question for you. It all depends on what you want, be it a single detached house, condo, or apartment. Here’s a link to a site where you can find up-to-date information on what’s available: www.realtor.ca/map#ZoomLevel=16&Center=49.896140%2C-97.140165&LatitudeMax=49.90110&LongitudeMax=-97.12584&LatitudeMin=49.89118&LongitudeMin=-97.15449&Sort=6-D&PGeoIds=g30_cbfgtjkk&GeoName=Winnipeg%2C%20MB&PropertyTypeGroupID=1&PropertySearchTypeId=1&TransactionTypeId=2&Currency=CAD Type in Winnipeg for the city, and use the filter options to find the type of accommodation you’re looking for.
      Oh, if you do visit Winnipeg, be sure to take in some of our festivals. In Winter, check out Festival du Voyageur, which celebrates Winnipeg’s strong French Canadian heritage heho.ca/fr/ or, if you come in summer, enjoy Folklorama, the largest and longest-running multicultural festival in the world en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folklorama

    No commentary? Much is self explanatory but it would have been helpful. Like the Human Rights Museum that was opened by HM The Queen way back then. Don't care for the design myself.

      Well you know Terry i have lived here my whole life and you are flat out wrong .it is a very tough city in certain parts however overall I have found most people are far more real and helpful than huge places that I have been to like Toronto or Chicago .you shouldn't necessarily listen to the Eastern based and board media.

      @@jackfishcampbell6745 hey man, lucky enough to have found you having been recently active, anyhow, considering a move soon, is winnipeg DT what its portrayed to be or is it actually a safe place to stay? ive heard lots of stuff about gangs robbing people and in some case murdering over there, just a short answer would do :D thanks

      Another Sabah Fakhri fan I walk around downtown winnipeg a lot and never had problems. Just don’t get involved in things you shouldn’t and everything is good. But for sure downtown isn’t the best, the worst is actually north of downtown.

    Very race driven city, they prefer to keep it as it always was, not too many liberals here mostly long time traditional conservatives who reject liberalism. Mostly Whites and Asians, a bit hostile towards Blacks.
