You know, I usually don't think about how well-written these videos are, bc you deliver them so naturally I just assume that's how you normally speak. But *man* these are well-written!
honestly. rather then going Voltron > Aristocrats... you just stay Voltron and Toss in the Food chain. less cards to change, are possible cheaper then the Token Staples Aristocrats will want
More was a foodchain deck in cedh. At this point it just cannot compete anymore but will completely obliterate any casual level deck, so sadly i think foodchain prosh has no place anywhere at this point, anymore.
This deck outline deserves a Bad Dragon sponsorship. Jokes aside, great video and hope to see more of this as a series. And yes Prosh can get it, he comes with an orgy.
I think the reason I love these videos is, much like myself, Mald seems like a genuinely nice person, but when he sits down at a table to play Magic, all that goes out the window, and he will trash you, your mom, and everything you love as he stomps you into the dirt. Then smile at go back to being nice when it’s done. 😁
I dunno, that's mostly how my deck wins; by dumping vast swathes of tokens into play that get funnelled into direct damage at instant speed. Prossh is just there to polish off who doesn't die in the Purphoros-flavoured hellfire.
Check out Jan Jansen, Chaos Crafter. Affectionately known as "Crackhead Legos". Assemble a Rube Goldberg machine that makes infinite tokens that ping your opponents for infinite damage, each -1 at a time.
I run a Xyris the Writhing Storm deck as one of my pet commanders. People come for the free Ancient Cravings that come with letting Xyris bonk you. They don't leave because I resolve Impact Tremors followed by Prosperity, X = 20.
I have a Prossh deck that I used just yesterday where the entire theme is "You're gonna murder my army? Two can play at that game!" with a plethora of instant speed sacrifice effects. It's very funny and at least 50% of the deck is the original Power Hungry precon. Mirko Vosk is next on my docket, gonna use cipher cards because it's funny
I'd love to see a ton more of these types of "budget ranges" videos. They're fun and informative, and still have that certain MaldHound charm you normally see in the roast videos
TBH, i’d call the aristocrats build mid-high budget and the TRUE villain build (combo) as actual high budget. featuring such bastards as food chain (one card infinite with your commander) and earthcraft (infinite with squirrel nest and insane value piece otherwise, also reserved list and $90), this is for when instead of simply sympathizing with bezos, you aspire to take his place
I'm currently building an Urza, Chief Artificer deck and Throne of Tarkir is going to be absolutely devastating in that deck when I have some big karnstructs and some thopters
Ah man i missed these how to lose friends videos!! Theyre so well made i actually spent my first 6 months playing exclusively a homebrew version of your werewolf deck! (Still waiting for the sequel lol) but genuinely! Well done and i hope you make more :)🌻
If you are willing to forgo the vigilance from tarian’s soul cleaver, there’s a less mana intensive version: blade of the bloodchief. It does the exact same thing without the vigilance, but costs one less mana to cast and equip in the same turn.
I really just added dragon throne to my galea deck. It's really a fun thing to do to have eldrazi conscription, giants belt, and colossus hammer on one thing then give it to everyone 😊
You forgot to mention how Tainted Strike is a one mana "You get to go home now!" card with Prossh even on the first cast. And also that Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos are just brutal in an aristocrats build.
I used to have a Prossh deck of the aristocats variety. able to do all the above in terms of buffing the kobolds, hitting with Prossh and go for the aristocats to finish folks off once the combat step was done. Will say Vicious shadows makes short work of people when the kobolds get fed to the hungry dragon. Certainly, a deck I miss and would likely rebuild, but currently the Jund'ing comes in the form of Sek'Kuar Deathkeeper and his cult of goblin zealots. Hopefully, one day I will ride along side this beautiful dragon once again
Love more commander ideas, even if it's in weird 3-color combinations. On the topic of Aristocrats and irresponsibly sacrificing the underlings, might I suggest a roast of Teysa, Orzhov Scion?
Oohh, my first cEDH commander :p I built 2 decks before Prossh- Marath, Will of the Wild and Omnath, Locus of Mana. After about 2 years of playing with VERY budgeted decks prioritizing cards in my own existing collection, I started intentionally buying cards for my first ever deck that I wanted to REALLY improve on. Some of the very first cards I got were Food Chain, Purphoros, Fecundity, Blood Artist, Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Mana Vault, Grave Pact, Greater Good, Ashnod's Altar, Tooth and Nail, Craterhoof Behemoth, and Avenger of Zendikar. There were plenty of other sacrifice outlets and cards that netted card advantage for sacrificing creatures as well, but this deck was honestly one of the first i had ever assembled with the intent to tell my blue-playing pod members to "go fuck themselves" because i was so damn tired of being Cyclonic Rifted every damn game and the best way to prevent that from happening was to just "win first".
actually the funniest thing is that you can build him cheap and just add foodchain. if you build the deck correctly and you add a lot of ways to draw and tutor the card (you are in black even in budget that is possible) then the changes gears completely. you can have the rest of the deck cost 60$ and a simply foodchain will make it an unstoppable force. honestly, because I love ghave but my favorite color is red, I want to do exactly that.
Hidden tech for anyone who wants to play the aristocrats build of prosh. Smothering Abomination is probably Prosh's best friend because you get to draw so many cards when you start sacrificing your kobolds to your altars you can pivot into a combo kill once you've generated enough mana through looping sacrifices and recasting Prosh with cards like Fireball, altar of the brood for mill, Nadir's Nightblade for more damage, Ect. Also check out a card called Shivin Harvest where you too can commit war crimes and nuke a whole board of non-basic lands with your kobalds for a low investment of 2 mana and a creature per land after an inital 2 mana cast.
Thank you for the heart! It means a lot. I would enjoy to see you do a deck list for "Mishra, Claimed by Gix" based around the meld function and/or token beat down.
It was the first "expensive" deck I got, right now I built it with Food Chain but to make a shitton of tokens, and cast Reclkess Bushwhacker and swing for lethal :D! (I do have it semi aristo-cedh). Can't wait to see the budget build! I tried to make it with Rohgahh and a couple more juicy dragons, but ended discarding it to build Henzie :D!
Tier 4: Food Chain Whereas Aristocrats sacrifices Tokens for Value, you sacrifice Friendship for Game Wins. And when nobody in the casual sphere wants to play with you any more, you'll find that even the cEDH folks don't want to hang with you because FC Prossh doesn't have staying power at the very tippity top any more. Rest in pieces, my sweet prince. You will not be missed. By anyone but me. Shhh, shh, don't tell them I love you, they'll kick me out again...
“Give him the ability to make and then immediately unmake more little gremlins than a high school prom night”…. Sides = current status: circling lower orbit.
I don't know if this was supposed to be helpful, but Imma build that prossh deck. My playgroup has an internal joke that all my gameplans revolve around tokens (think emmara-esque decks), so I might as well lean into that because I love tokens :D
@maldhound, I am having a shitty night (literally and figuratively) at work, can you do one of these or one of your regular breakdowns for Narset, Enlightened Exile?
You need a bookshelf back drop; It'll look more professional. Also, have you done any Partners yet? I can't remember, but if not, Dargo + Jeska would be a good one.
My Prossh deck is none of these things. I built it to answer the question of 'How much can I tap this basic for?' Most I've gotten from one is 14, so Ya. But that was only a third of the deck, so I then asked, what's for dinner? And filled up the rest of the deck with very hungry dragons with Devour, and now I eat Prossh and all his kobolds several times per turn just for the sake of feeding my very hungry Dragons. Without foodchain and only basics, I have indeed hard cast Prossh 7 times in one turn. Only reason I stopped is because I ran out of Very Hungry Dragons.
You know, I usually don't think about how well-written these videos are, bc you deliver them so naturally I just assume that's how you normally speak. But *man* these are well-written!
Thank you for appreciating it! The notebook in the video is actually all the drafts of the lines
@@maldhound They are also well-written physically, too. That's some nice looking cursive script
Love the humor, makes the videos and shorts always worthwhile. Also so Dapper with suit n tie this time.
The "breeding stock/ google search" line... that is why you are the funniest, dare I say best Magic channel.
From what i see when he plays on decked out he is like this, just less mean.
you forgot about the final budget level, which is where prosh is just here for food chain
I was boutta say, "and then you throw all that in the bin and use food chain"
honestly. rather then going Voltron > Aristocrats... you just stay Voltron and Toss in the Food chain. less cards to change, are possible cheaper then the Token Staples Aristocrats will want
food chain is more of a cedh build, and I've never met a cedh group that doesn't *expect* you to proxy the expensive cards
More was a foodchain deck in cedh. At this point it just cannot compete anymore but will completely obliterate any casual level deck, so sadly i think foodchain prosh has no place anywhere at this point, anymore.
I have food chain in my prosh, but I rarely use it as my win con because how easy it breaks the game.
Alright… the prom night joke is premium tier humor.
I love that the self proclaimed blue player that hates green like the tree huggers we are has now made not 1 but 2 guides on building Jund decks.
From a certain point of view, Jund is basically Blue but in 3 colors
@dragoknighte48 just blue with extra steps!
You can take the blue out of the deck, but you can't take it out of the player
You must first understand the enemy to destroy the enemy.
This deck outline deserves a Bad Dragon sponsorship. Jokes aside, great video and hope to see more of this as a series. And yes Prosh can get it, he comes with an orgy.
Yeah i didnt expect "pretty good size for a bad dragon" to be part of a mtg vid. XD
You know, this comment unironically aged well!
"How do you say you like playing Prossh, without saying you like playing Prossh?"
Maldhound: *makes this video*
I dig the new format. I haven’t really seen you do deck tech before. Well done!
I'd be more interested in seeing a Commander that HAS the toothpick shotgun as their main strategy!

Otharri, Suns Glory can super easily do it. Swing in, make a bunch of rebels, and then dump them for pain.
Another fun Prossh trick! Prossh + Phyrexian Altar + Ashnod's Altar!
Can replay prossh infinite times and make infinite sacrifices.
City on Fire is PARTICULARLY nice here since you can just convoke it out with your kobolds.^^
I like that your notes are in cursive. No one uses cursive anymore. Kudos good sir!
I like to imagine Prossh is riding around on the Dragonthrone of Tarkir like a chopper
I hope this formating does well for your algorithms! Funny, informative and caters to all players. Hope to see more like this in the future.
Prossh scares me regardless. I remember playing with them back when the decsk first came out.
perfect timing for the US senator joke.
I'd love to see a ton more of these types of "budget ranges" videos. They're fun and informative, and still have that certain MaldHound charm you normally see in the roast videos
Man, Tarrian's Soulcleaver is bonkers nice.
These longer form deck archetype by budget videos are real good!
Not dodging the allegations with that bad dragon reference
Im so glad I randomly pulled a Prossh once. All this Prossh talk makes me want to make a deck for him
I'm currently building an Urza, Chief Artificer deck and Throne of Tarkir is going to be absolutely devastating in that deck when I have some big karnstructs and some thopters
Ah man i missed these how to lose friends videos!! Theyre so well made i actually spent my first 6 months playing exclusively a homebrew version of your werewolf deck! (Still waiting for the sequel lol) but genuinely! Well done and i hope you make more :)🌻
When is this man going to have his own EDH. Show where he brings his friends in and then just roast every commander and deck.
oh my god. that line about the mcchicken hit me in the gut.
0:44 Oh, you knew _exactly_ what you were doing with that double entendre.
If you are willing to forgo the vigilance from tarian’s soul cleaver, there’s a less mana intensive version: blade of the bloodchief. It does the exact same thing without the vigilance, but costs one less mana to cast and equip in the same turn.
Yeah, that's a good second copy of the effect.
I really just added dragon throne to my galea deck. It's really a fun thing to do to have eldrazi conscription, giants belt, and colossus hammer on one thing then give it to everyone 😊
He may not be a vampire, but blade of the bloodchief goes hard.
My Prossh build is The Great Aurora Jund Storm. Its GLORIOUS!
You forgot to mention how Tainted Strike is a one mana "You get to go home now!" card with Prossh even on the first cast. And also that Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos are just brutal in an aristocrats build.
I’m loving the slightly longer vids man keep it up
-You are the hero I've been waiting for-
You are the Evil we have ALL been waiting for... Master.
we need more of these videos.. this is great! you should do Beledros WitherBloom!!!
I used to have a Prossh deck of the aristocats variety. able to do all the above in terms of buffing the kobolds, hitting with Prossh and go for the aristocats to finish folks off once the combat step was done. i really like this new idea of video, cant wait to see you make something like this for other commanders
Bro you just keep putting out banger videos! Thank you for existing
Thank you my friend 🙏
Love more commander ideas, even if it's in weird 3-color combinations.
On the topic of Aristocrats and irresponsibly sacrificing the underlings, might I suggest a roast of Teysa, Orzhov Scion?
I love this format, hope to see more.
'Murder most foul' indeed.^^
Hamlet is certainly appropriate here.
Oohh, my first cEDH commander :p

This guy has some impeccable handwriting, I wish I could read upside down.
Remember getting my Prossh deck in 2013, good times… good times…

Prossh is my favorite of the jund dragons.
Beamtown bullies are my favorite jund commander though
Pls pls pls do a video roasting varolz the scar stripped. Out of 10 doctors only nine say he is bestest troll. Make the 1 doctor PAY!
Always hated that card. Doesn’t seem so busted at first until the player tutors a one mana 13/13 into his graveyard
@@NateWalisnah. Compared to all the atraxa and Urza decks varolz is okay at best
Varolz is my favorite deck by far. Super fast and powerful. Great card
As that one doctor, mossbridgetroll has much personality
@@NateWalisdeaths shadow that card I’m pretty sure. Great in modern
10 out 10 for the new format, we helping people build new decks? And we get funnies? We have been spoiled

I'm so excited for a deck list! I would adore that for each of the Commanders you cover, omg!
Edit for spelling.
Thank you for the heart! It means a lot.
I would enjoy to see you do a deck list for "Mishra, Claimed by Gix" based around the meld function and/or token beat down.
Fantastic, can't wait to see you do Nevinnyral
For Death Pit Offering, I would either play it early OR after dropping a Culling Ritual OR sacing my creatures to an Ashnod's or Phyrexian Altar.
It was the first "expensive" deck I got, right now I built it with Food Chain but to make a shitton of tokens, and cast Reclkess Bushwhacker and swing for lethal :D! (I do have it semi aristo-cedh). "Making and unmaking more little gremlins than highschool prom night."
MALD. YOU CAN'T. HAHAHAHAHA
I was waiting the whole time for a food chain joke, but this was brilliant regardless
I’m trying to save the next generation by not teaching any new Jund players the combo
doing the Lord's work
"a pretty good size for a bad dragon" 👌
my guy buried the final prossh tier of "Food Chain go brrr" for the good of games everywhere
I like this format, more please!
A handsome man in a suit explaining how to commit cardboard-based atrocities is basically my ASMR.
I am once again attempting to stuff Intet the Dreamer into the Maldhound incinerator
LMAO!!! I love it man!
Great content for other versatile commanders. 10/10
How goes the video for the budget list? I am quite interested in the kobold army.
Tier 4: Food Chain
Whereas Aristocrats sacrifices Tokens for Value, you sacrifice Friendship for Game Wins. This feels like im being wined and dined as someone speaks sweet kobolds into my ears
👀 would love to see you talk about minthara
I absolutely know MaldHound isn’t wearing pants in this video.
I just threw Prossh in my budget korvold stack and it does just fine
I currently think more about how to make shelob less sht
Oh good! More Jund ‘em Out Tips!
The high school prom night line 💀
My brother in Grist, I would love to hear your opinion on Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer and his cake.
I just use goblins and Juri so I always have a warhead at the ready in case I need to take out two or more people
Remember everyone, you can play any of these Prosh decks regardless of budget by simply using proxies.
“Give him the ability to make and then immediately unmake more little gremlins than a high school prom night”….
Sides = current status: circling lower orbit.

Song of Totez is only 56 cents, you got my hopes up thinking I had a crispy 5 dollar bill worth of trade in value until I price checked 😂
Fantastic analysis. Could you perhaps don the same coat and tie and tell us why Questing Beast is the most underpowered card in MTGA? (#SARCASM)
If you are broke, Zedruu the Great-hearted would be a great choice for you.
Attempt 12 respectfully requesting the roast of Olivia Crimson Bride
A very good size for a bad dragon 🧐
Darn missed the aristocrats like blood artist
Mald looking spiffy in that suit. I'd tap that and gain wubrg.
Speaking of jund, roast my boy Kresh the Bloodbraided
I use prossh as my commander for devour
@maldhound, I am having a shitty night (literally and figuratively) at work, can you do one of these or one of your regular breakdowns for Narset, Enlightened Exile?
Good size for a bad dragon…
You need a bookshelf back drop; It'll look more professional. Also, have you done any Partners yet? I can't remember, but if not, Dargo + Jeska would be a good one.
GIVE US XYRIS, THE WRITHING STORM
Sounds like butcher of malakir would be a good fit for this deck
Yeah butcher is a pretty free slot in any version of the deck
Bro, Breya. Begging
PS I laughed, so extremely hard at this one
Asking for Sen Triplets!
Dissapointed food chain never got a mention
Have you heard of pain decks. The focus is not to win but to make them lose. Zo-Zu as the commander, and have stuff like mana barbs
With all the reprints, good old shared animosity should be nice and cheap these days.
I hope you do a video for Zevlor.
Mald sure uses Jund a lot for a guy who hates Green
Jund is the bluest color combination in the game
shoutout to my fellow prossh players 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
