I've had thick winter socks that were store-bought and they didn't have a heel cup either. I'm very interested in making my own socks and I love your video. But since there are critics-a-plenty 🤣😂 my one critique is that I would make a square toe instead of a circular hat closure. I think my toes would love me for being considerate that way. It would take a little more time, but very worth the effort. I do plan on getting one of these smaller Sentro machines. It's on my list, so very soon. Ty for this video as I see in comments about knitting socks by hand first it’s not easy task I learned.. but this looks fun so ty for great tutorial learning news ways is always good.
For me, without the heel it is not a sock, but I think they will do. Tip: you can make the double rim on sentro in a minute, just add the first green row to the last one, one more round and then finsh the work, you will save a lot of time...

I'm new to this..Are there different size machines for different things ,socks, hats, scarves etc? If I want to knit several different items will I need to purchase more than one machine?
I have made a pair holding 2 sock yarns together but the problem is they are to narrow at the top for me. Also if you don't pull the yarn all the way tight at the foot part and then sew the opening it makes it more comfortable. thank you so much.
Hello again! Well I made one and a 1/2 pair of socks today. My shoulders are getting sore. I tried the Addi 22 needle and I think ,because I am doubling them, that they will be too narrow for him.... But probably not for his wife! So I went to my 32 needle "mushroom House" machine and I think they're going to be real good. He would be able to even wear them over 2 of his pair of socks he wears all the time.. I will let you know how it goes. The 1st pair is a beautiful purple with a yellow stripe on the cuff and the 2nd pair is a variegated dark blues and purples and greens. Very nice looking. Thank you so much for your help with this. I've been wanting to do socks for a while and so now I finally did it! I think I will make a pair for the homeless shelter and see if they are something that the people would like to have. I don't wear socks, so I can't try them out and see if they're warm or not. God bless you!
Did these bc I did a sock with a heel on the same machine but for my son, a 13 yr old with size 13 feet, its very tight lol I'm a size 8 and they fit decent. Then I did this tube sock and while theh fit him better, his feet are just thick. Just a note to anyone if you are making any for me. With big fit. I did a loom knit slipper sock for my son once. He liked those. I try to see whag works best for different feet. Wanting to make slipper socks or tube socks for gifts this year.
Can you please show me how you did that for your son because my son wears a size 13 and I'm a size 10. I would be so grateful because it's so difficult for people with larger than normal size, please and thank you ❤
Hi, Kathy, my name is Christi. I just found this video today. I have completed 1 sock so far. The part that we crocheted isn't allowing it to even get to the heal. I know I have big feet! The knit part stretches enough. I'm going to redo it much looser to see if that does the trick. Any other ways I could make it open more? I hope you don't take this wrong but I had a lot of trouble with the lack of sound for such long periods of time. I loved the rest of the video!
Question, why are you only going through the back loop on the green when you’re attaching the cuff at the end why are you not going through both loops?
Thanks for the video. The socks came out great. As I understand, you can't use regular sock yarn on this machine. What kind of yarn did you use? Are they ok to wear in a shoe?
The yarn is a bit too thick, but you could make two and line them together. Should be okay a boot!! I used the 4 medium - Red Heart Yarn- Wildflower - amzn.to/3hrRUSy
It might not be as neat but I am going to try this by just casting off normally with lots of excess yarn, I will put the sock on and then tighten the yarn to where it’s comfortable and then tie it off, that’s my plan a so have wider calves, I will let you know if it works
I Need to make some very heavy socks for a man with poor calculation. I'm going to make the same socks but in one piece so they end up double. I will close them up just like a hat. Thank you!
As a Registered Nurse, I say use extreme caution. People with leg difficulties will wear socks only as it is too difficult to use sneaks or shoes due to difficulty putting them on. Therefore, they walk in socks, which are an absolute fall hazard. Hardwood, or fake hardwood, linoleum and tile surfaces are extra slippery with socks on. Their walking ability, agility and balance are also compromised, increasing falls. The acrylic yarns are more hazardous than socks. While I so appreciate your desire to make a friend in need some warm socks, please reconsider. High risk falls are kitchen and bathrooms. Bathrooms, especially in the middle of the night. His family needs to be contacted to get this gentleman what he needs. Call adult protective services if he has a negligent family. Adult protective is significantly used to help protect our seniors. Again, I appreciate your kindness .
How many balls of yarn did you use for both socks? So ONE pair? 😂 Lol at what you said in the video about that😂😂 but ya, how many balls of yarn did you use for one pair??? ❤❤❤ Great video by the way. Hi, NO... but trial and error is key!! 4 worsted is the best. Thick yarn the machine will get very tight and won't turn properly. I would stay with 3 or 4 but test small tubes if you really want to use a different type.
